Where did you get the CPS mud flap? Mine is missing…
I’d try rock auto.. I’ve been able to find the most random parts on there. If not, junkyard!
It doesn't look too bad compared to like an engine rebuild. My '96 doesn't need this yet but this looks totally doable. Sorry for all these negative comments, ha ha. I bet everything was fine when you put her back together.
I appreciate the positivity! Learning how to film while learning how to rebuild the Jeep has been a task 😂
Was this worth it?
It’s definitely made a very stiff jeep if that’s what you want. If I were building another jeep I’d skip this step and the problems it caused with my trackbar bracket
Damn, i was gonna say, sell that baby my way.
Everything is for sale at the right price!
Glad you got it figured out Lane. Thanks for the update, looking forward to more videos on it..
Same! Stoked to drive it after all that time
Nice, YASSS 😎💅
Qween
SLAYYYYY😎💅
Title should be 'how to split open an np231j'. Literally nothing was rebuilt in the video
Not my best video, definitely need to redo it
Holy shit those tires 😂😂❤❤
Only 35s!
Does it goes reverse tho?
No, reversing the polarization of the motors was over my skill level 😂
What warranty does the tekton include?
Lifetime replacement
@@motolayne How do they compare to icon from harbor freight?
Yes. First!
Yes!
Have you had any issues since doing this? I just got a 82k mile AW4 thats super muddy and thinking this may be the most effective way to clean it just been a little skeptical about ruining anything
Not a single issue, I was just careful around wiring connectors and sensors. I also replaced the vent lines and it’s been perfect.
That furniture dolly is hurtn😂
Rest in peace to that dolly 😂
Question regarding the clanking noise. Is there fluid in the system? When you adjusted it the 1/4 turn was there any improvement? Have you hade the steering box apart? I want to say most likely it’s your steering box adjustment. They can loosen up over time or wear out. The best way to diagnose it is to pull out the box and put it in a vice. While holding the pitman shaft turn your steering shaft to see if there’s any play. If so adjust the bolt on top by turning it clockwise till the play goes away but not too much. Also while adjusting it you will need to turn the steering shaft back and forth a few times, as the teeth are beveled. This will allow the piston to rotate and seat the mesh properly and then readjust as necessary. You still want oil to get in between the gears. Hope this helps!
Wasn’t the steering box, it was play in the track bar mount from being spaced out by the frame stiffener.
you realize there is a drain plug and if so why didn't you use it?
With a flat pan there’s always going to be a bunch of residual fluid after the drain plug as been pulled
@@motolayne true but drain most of it and when you drop the pan there is not all that fluid pouring out making a big mess thats what i mean
Tie wire..😁👍👍
Oh yeah! That’s a good one.
I like how little space those socket rails take up, but not knowing what size you're grabbing seems inefficient. How are you liking it?
I’ve basically had to memorize where my main sockets are, but definitely want to look into labeled options!
When you buy a realistic game but have to optimize:
Bro the body lines are atrocious
Worthless.
This is too hard i need this for my XJ 99
Not sure if they make them anymore, but was a sweet piece.
@motolayne I'll have to check an see if I can find it but good works bro!
Another vid of same rad but custom shroud for cheap. Triple Fan Shroud Build 99 XJ th-cam.com/video/ta6F257I5yk/w-d-xo.html
I’m new to the jeep xj, this is my first time trying to rebuild anything but how do you re-gear your transfer case for the 35 inch tire or where do you buy the part for that or the whole rebuild kit,
Hey most people don’t regear the transfercase. It’s more efficient to regear the differentials in your axles.
That is a las vegas tract community gravel yard if i ever seen one
Close! Tucson, AZ.
@@motolayne ohhhg…way cooler. I can’t stand Vegas. Dropped into tuscon a year ago to pick up furniture and it seemed kind of cool hippie artsy. Liked the 1-2 story old town building skyline. Some friends moved out there years ago w their band kept meaning to visit.
That’s why you go straight to the local car wash and leave it on the ground there 😂
As it should be!👍🏽
Still fun 😂
So fricken rad!
I love that you watch these 🫶🏼
That's a bummer about your XJ.You have a lot of money invested in that for it to just be sitting in your garage.Good luck on getting it figured out buddy....😁🙏
I’m really hoping that working on something else for a bit will let me have some clarity when I get back focused on it again.
Im not gonna say first but cool!
Hey thanks!
You should be able to replace the Pittsburgh 1/2 inch fixed head standard ratchet for the big set and it would still be ideal for a mobile kit for in the vehicle in case it breaks down,i believe harbor freight sells that ratchet separately as well and so does kobalt and they have a pro90 tooth version should still fit in the case
That’s genius. I’ve been meaning to build out a mobile/junkyard tool kit and that might just be the perfect swap.
All that PPE and no gloves. Finger are only good for boogers :)
I choose dexterity over false sense of safety with gloves 😂
What did you use for cleaner?
Simply green
Which sensor did you use for the Mishimoto radiator .?
I got a thermostatic sensor off Amazon for the fan relay
Good video, only suggestion is to wipe the engine down with something other than paper towel.
I agree, next time I build an engine I’ll be using tac cloths to not leave any fibers behind
@@motolayne looks good though, looking forward to seeing the next video
As soon as I heard his test consisted of, it’s not fully dry… I left
Yeah it was a terrible test, I need to redo it properly. Thanks for the feedback.
Where did you get your speedometer gears?
I got mine from quadratek. They have the chart too so you can get the right tooth count.
How unlock magic ?
Haven’t played in a long time, good luck!
Ive got over 15k into a 2000 wj soooo the extra chromazone is strong indeed
I’m sure it brings a smile to your face though.
@@motolayne its my special needs child.
I did exact same thing then I noticed the oil pressure is suffering going up as normal and the car moving rough
Interesting. I’m definitely interested in converting from funky PCV to straight flow AN adapters.
I like rocks
Same though.
Nice video… have been thinking about pulling the trigger and getting some full Tekton sets.. nice review.. think I’m gonna do it!
Thank you! I can’t recommend them more
Because it life ... Jeep life!
Jeep life for sure.
looks good. have a golf sportwagen in white and just got those wheels in gun metal
I bet it looks great. Definitely love those sport wagons
The rebuild kit comes with bearings and seals? How do you call this a rebuild video?
Definitely not a great step by step rebuild.
What’s the pushrod length you using ?
Stock length.
2 steps forward, and 1 step back- is still progress!
I appreciate the motivation.
Enjoyyyy the build ! Just Empty Every Pocket
It’s so true.
91 2 door xj and I say the same thing every time.
It’s a sickness.
I'm old... I can't work off the floor anymore. Wouldn't be easier to work on a table ?
Definitely would be easier to work on a table.
think ur brain needs some improvement
i agree
actually though i am confused what you are getting at in this video. explain @@motolayne
What
what?
