You're the man!!! Appreciate your videos greatly!!!! Anyway I can send you a message and pick your brain on something? I have something going on with my 2018 Giulia, I think it has something to do with the timing chain, but wanted your opinion first!! The Alfa dealer here said they didn't find anything wrong with the car ......
@@corpseneck sure, go ahead and follow me on instagram if you haven’t already and message me there. My instagram is @the.alfa.doctor
Korea and China tensioner and pulley in Italian car,why bro😢😢
they are made by SKF France 26:21 . and if you see close it say Made in Canada for the tensioner. welcome to the world of Global Supply
Do you have any video of changing out a turbo?
At what mileage should the timing be changed to 2.9l?
I just did this job in a 2017 guilia and it is possible to replace the radiator with only removing the undercover and fan shroud. Would I recommend doing it that way? Depends on your skill level but can save a lot of time
The body is SMC not Fibre glass, world of difference.
Hi do you happen to know where the oil solenoid is located ?
took it to brakes plus and they added oil to the full line. the next day i drove it, my alfa was shaking at idle and my engine light was blinking along with the ecs and ast and a couple other codes…i didn’t do anything different but when the car warmed up, it stopped shaking. it threw p0302, p1062, and p0363.
Great vid, thank you. But… Compared to a Lexus 5.0 V8 (GS-F) oil change, the QV’s is absurdly complex. Why does the QV’s oil filter have to be on top of the engine and buried under a pile of fragile hoses - what’s the benefit?? Why not place the filter under the engine, behind an easy-access hatch, as per the Lexus V8 and almost every other car??
Just replaced the accessory belt on my 2017 Giulia Quad, and I would not have attempted it without your video. It's a big job, but your video made it clear and very doable. I can't thank you enough for all the assistance this provided! I do have one question, and I'm almost afraid of the answer; the input hose going to the charge air cooler on the left side showed obvious oil contamination, even to the point the oil dripped from the cooler when it was taken off. The right side was bone dry. Since, I believe, that input comes directly from the turbo output, this probably means my left side turbo is bad. The car hasn't thrown any codes, or shown any driveability issues. I this an early indication of a turbo going out? Thanks.
I love you bro. Real one!
Would running it through the vacuum system work as well? On other makes even those with Direct injection systems I've seen it done through a vacuum hose.
I have a 2018 alfa romeo giulia, i notice that there is smoke coming from the heat shield once the car had been running, any suggestions
Great video. How to I remove the harness tht connects to the coolant temperature sensor for 2018 setlvio ti. the sensor connected to the return hose. not 1 video online anywhere. Dealership will not help. thanks.
Did you use the same pad spreader for the front
thanks. i hate it.
What was the mileage you decided to replace plugs. I’m at 51k and am thinking of doing it while I’m doing brakes, rotors, etc.
I have a snap on scanner would i be able to reset it w that?
The time it took Just for a timing belt, You could rebuild 2-3 bialbero 2.0 engines on an alfetta. Heats down for the level of patience.👍
Does this apply to veloce?
When you tighten the bokts for cam pulleys do you rely on the lockung tools in back to homd or do you put a screw driver or something in the sprocket to hold while tightening?
Here I am contemplating this vs taking it to the dealership tomorrow..
Just got an oil change done for 70 bucks on the 4c. Why charge so much?
hi there... what you shared is just to flush brake fluid from the master ABS pump till each calipers. What about the brake fluid at the simulator (brake pedal) if it is needed? it is a brake-by-wire system and has 2 separate circuits. thks.
In 2024, there are no more excuses left for owning Italian cars😅😅😅😅😅
How do i hire you to change my belt in 4c ?
Feel free to reach out to me on my IG page the.alfa.doctor
Thanks for the detailed video. After seeing all the steps I don't know if I could trust a random mechanic to do this right. I might have to do it myself just for peace of mind but it looks like a pain either way
Are these common for headgaskets, got one thats already had this done, but the oil is still mixing with coolant and has been flushed numerous of times, fills both reservoirs
Do the giulia QV start rough at times? Like I can feel the cylinders turning over at start but throwing no codes. Runs fine from what I can feel. Battery was at 12.41 amps. Hot day here in GA. Any thoughts? You are the guru here.
Just to let some people know you only need to remove the top part of the Airbox to do this job, I did take off the cross bar and the engine cover just because I was going to do it just like this video and after I got those 2 items off I saw no reason to remove the whole entire intake hose, went strait to the challenging BELT cover and that wasn't too hard and changed the belt. I used a small ratchet with the small long 10mm for the Belt cover.
I’m surprised you didn’t have to pull the engine for this!
I'm replacing A front active shock soon. Do you recommend disconnecting the battery before unplugging the shock, and does the new shocker just plug in and work? No coding in required? Thank you.
What a damn headacheeee. Thanks to your video we got it done
It’s annoying, but wasn’t too bad a job, thx!
Having the same problems except its cylinder 1. Replaced everything like this guy did but no luck. Problem I have is that when you clear the codes it runs fine for a little while. I'm praying it's not this but I'm about to look
Love watching his videos and love his passion for alfas ...glad he's in NorCal. Keep posting great content Alfa_tech
Do you have to do the extra steps with the computer?
Wow, man....what a great and thorough video on this amazing car and engine! I hope to have a QV some day soon, but after having recently done the timing belt, water pump and seals on my 2JZ-GE, I can see that this Alfa is a WHOLE LOT more complicated! LOL Thanks for the detailed vid!
Good concise Alfa Romeo maintenance video. Much appreciated. Thank you for sharing!
Dude... I'll just pay the dealership to do it fck it 😂😂😂
Brilliant video , makes me question if i should do this myself hahah . Do you know if there's an easy way to inspect the belt without taking most of the car apart?
hey man when should you do this milage wise?
Excuse me , do you know what is the part number for the ACC module for a QV 2018 by any chance?, thanks!
Appreciate how professional you are and how you take care to not create a mess and clean up as you go! Will be bringing "Valeria" (My 2019 QV) when she is ready for service...you are still in the Bay Area- Correct?
The knowledge needed to do this and put it all back correctly blows my mind.
Thank you for taking the time to share you experience bro! , Im trying to rebuild my Giulia
After months I finally find your video that exactly show what I needed. My 280cv Giulia had a oil and coolant mixing problem. Just few oil drop but my coolant got coloured. I searched all the known internet to find a solution and you made a video on it. Nice work! I really hope that replacing this oil cooler piece the problem will be solved. I have never had power losses or never find water in the oil so I am pretty sure the problem is that device.
and, was it? my is in garage now, but i ve replaced turbo for hyb turbo and when i took the car i have noticed mixing oil and water... they were struggling with catalyst, so i hope they have touched it and fcked it up....
I followed all your steps but now every light is illuminated on the dash. What tool scan tool do i need? Any help is appreciated
I have a 2018 Stelvio 2.0 sport and it has 72k miles and counting and it also has the leak on the drivers side tank area . Is the procedure the same as the Giulia or different ? Thanks in advance
