    At your convenience, could you show the replacement of the oil and coolant o-rings on the turbo? (2.0ltr)
    Also a diagnoses of the rattling sound coming from the front of the engine around the turbo area.
    Sounds similar to a timing chain rattle.

    • @nexushexus4365
      @nexushexus4365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rattling sound coming from the front of the engine around the turbo area is the waste gate, all of them do it, there's been some people reporting the waste gate mount starts to "ovel out" and will throw a under boost code. The only fix is replacing the entire turbo because FCA will not sell just the wastegate by itself.

    Anyone know if one of his videos gets more in depth with the Airbox R&R struggle? The struggle is real so any tips to smooth this seemingly simple part of these jobs are much appreciated! BTW amazing video that really satisfies curiosities about what is going on under all of those layers over and under the cam cover!

    • @hycastro
      @hycastro  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely understand the struggle with the air box. The next one I remove I will definitely try and get some better footage of it. The rubber grommets that are under the air box are a huge pain to work with. The trick is to lift the air box slightly to create slight separation and then spray lubricant into the grommet, let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then it almost always just slides out. Thanks for the love and support!

    Thanks for the video! I just replaced the oil pump on my 2017 Giulia Ti AWD (behind timing chain cover) and you got me 95% of the way there. I did replace the 1-time use bolts, however, just one issue. The manual said to replace the fuel injector seals, however, I couldn't find them (or even the part number) and needed all the special tools, so I just put it back together with the originals (also re-used the fuel tube). No leaks and the car runs good usually... A few misfires and code "injector Circuit Range/Performance". I have gotten the code for all 4 cylinders P02EE (cyl 1), P02EF (cyl 2), P02F0 (cyl 3), and P02F1 (cyl 4). I am assuming this is a result of re-using the injector seals. Do you think if I pull the injectors and replace the seals it will fix the issue? Thank you again, your videos are awesome.

    • @hycastro
      @hycastro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off thanks so much for the love and support, second I will admit I usually reuse the injector seals (I know you shouldn’t) and I’ve never had a comeback for that. The codes your describing are electrical codes so make sure all those injector connectors are pushed down all the way and the lock tab engaged, in fact just double check all the connections just to be safe. Make sure the pcm connector is on tight and no pins are bent on the module itself. Once you do all that, clear all your codes, drive the car and see if any codes come back. Best of luck 😎

      I’m pretty sure they just didn’t put enough sealant on.

  • @rhiiine
    @rhiiine ปีที่แล้ว

    So I had this performed and the new seal appears to be seeping at the least. I can’t look below but there’s oil residue on the bolt heads and sheen to the surfaces. Dealership obviously doesn’t want to redo it and is saying it’s “normal”. To me, seals should seal and so no amount of leaking is normal and I don’t want a messy engine down the road. Then again, there’s a lot of tear down here and it could be better to leave well enough alone. Thoughts?

    • @hycastro
      @hycastro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d have them redo it. When you correctly fix a leak, there shouldn’t be any residue or seepage after the repair has been done. Just my 2 cents.

      Not sure where to get the tool because these are dealer tools but I’m sure if you research it online you should be able to find something. As far as the high pressure fuel line, it’s one time use so once it’s tightened it cannot be reused.

    Alfa tech can I ask you a question in December I had a crash in my giulia quadrifoglio I'm in uk the car is all sorted everything ordered from the factory. Problem in having I cant get the ignition on to start the car. I've replaced control module on the live side of the battery still no ignition. I've been told it may be the clock spring as everything from the steering wheelgoes through this.The day of the crash the ignition was left on when it got recovered when I got my car back 2 weeks later the battery was flat I charged it I've had no ignition since. Sorry for the long winded question I'm hoping you may know thanks

    • @hycastro
      @hycastro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Whenever you get into a crash in these vehicles you have to perform all the repairs necessary such as airbags and all that (if they were deployed) and then you have to re-enable the vehicle via the factory scan tool or capable scan tool in order for the vehicle to start again. When you get into a accident the ecm cuts off fuel and disables the starting system to prevent a fire in the case of a fuel leak. If your getting absolutely no power (like no lights on the dash at all) I would start by replacing that battery even though you stated it’s charged, and go from there. If your getting lights on the dash and vehicle is cranking over but not firing you have to re-enable the vehicle. The procedure should be done either way.

      The sealant for the timing chain cover has a weak spot where the head, block and cover all meet up. It seems like they didn’t add enough threebond (sealant) to this area and over time (usually before 30k miles)the tend to leak down the passenger side of the engine and the oil gathers all over the oil pan.
