It's still just a fan, just a different form factor (so not easy to replace/locate 3rd party because they'll have proprietary $100 replacements). A single fan nonetheless, so when that breaks, you're fked. There's mini cases that can use standard size fans just fine. Cool but not $500 cool.

I just built a pretty similar build for ~$1250. The only part I didn't have to purchase was storage, as I have a small collection of M.2 drives from a couple laptops I've used over the years. I went with the NR200 case ($50), gigabyte A620I mini ITX mb ($199), some cheap teamgroup DDR5 RAM ($75), the R5 7600X ($199), a cheap low profile thermalright air CPU cooler ($20), the cheapest SFX power supply that was 2x my power expectations ($99), and the ASUS dual 4070 super ($599). Bought everything from Amazon with the exception of the power supply, which was $30 cheaper on Newegg.

does the CPU cooler realy work? I wanna try the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Would a pc in this case fit in something like a backpack? I don’t know if it’s a bad idea or not, but I want to make my pc more portable, because I learned the hard way that building a full size pc when you go between two houses a lot isn’t the best idea

since ppl are migrating to ARM....SFF cases are dead. Just get an mac mini m4 and keep things going.

they overcharge that much to help compensate for the crazy amount of R&D that goes into making a product like this. especially for a small company thats not exactly equipped for such ventures. but at least we have some brands that are taking the leap to hopefully help designs like this become more mainstream

smaller and more compact does not mean better, in this case the computer will overheat a lot, which will have a negative impact on its durability
