The new ipad air 6 13 inch is my dream :3 sub $900 for an m2 processor, support for the pencil pro with barrel support, 13 inch p3 display, cheaper than the ipad pro. and you can carry it everywhere 🥲
I got a Zotac Solo 4060 to make something like your Velka 3 build, but with a Ryzen 7600X. The 4060 has been running absolutely fantastically for the games and resolutions I play at and I've been super happy with it.
Devyn, your builds are always so elegant and the components make sense. I especially like the enclosure you designed yourself. It was great. I loved the concept of integrating a screen in it. You just have to figure out how to run it all on battery power... not practical I know but its still nice to think about.
Very nice build. I'm building something similar that can replace my at home desktop, but can then be "folded up" into a smaller box. When in use, it folds out at a single point with a hinge to improve thermals.
I got a 4080 7800x3d Fractal Terra build w the same Noctua cooler and was having issues with overheating at first until I figured out how to undervolt. I was disappointed at first but I’d def recommend now 👍🏻 great vid as always
@@ycemilk For sure man, some of the stuff I didn’t mention was the Gigabyte B650i for the mobo (there’s def cheaper options but I just liked it for the aesthetic and io’s nice and has 3 ssd slots), the Corsair sf750 for the psu, 32gb of crucial RAM, and 2tb 990pro ssd (def cheaper options for storage as well). I also got a 90° power chord adapter for the GPU as well cuz it’s kind of a tight fit, you could maybe get by without one but I didn’t cable manage the best. The biggest thing w the Terra is that the cooling definitely isn’t the best so you should definitely undervolt the cpu. I can’t remember the steps specifically but I promise it’s super easy if you watch a short yt vid on doing it, Gigabyte has a really nice bios so its easy to navigate. In terms of GPU undervolting just use MSI afterburner as well, there’s plenty of 4080 undervolt yt vids as well. Overall the build process and set up is all pretty simple.
I'm thinking of going 3D printing case design (shoutout to Modcase for inspo). This solution would be nice and sturdy internally, with a solid shell around it for mobility / protection. Getting the mesh fan-holes and airflow right would be critical. I really like the modular HDPLEX PSUs...
It's amazing how the Velka 3 dominates with it's 4L size. Haven't seen a case yet that allows for standard parts, can go up to a 4070 and be this tiny. Probably could even go smaller if the case was build around a HDPLEX instead of a Flex.
yup definitely I would build it for sure and for Extra protection I might 3d print some open chassis and Laser cut some acrylic panel to make it perfect.
Geeek sells a modular version of the Enhance 7660-B, and they're available in the US. It's available with both unpainted and black enclosures, and comes with braided cables. I'll vouch for it, it's a very good power supply for the form factor. It is pricy, but that's a given with sff. A common mod users do is swap out the stock 40x20 fan for a 5V FLX Noctua unit of the same size. It might knock down the rated wattage by about 100W, but it's silent.
@@sagnikguharoy810 I would think it would depend on the CPU and GPU you go for. For example, you can absolutely have a smaller CPU cooler on, say, a 5600x which is cooled just fine bc of its lower power consumption. The GPU will be a bit trickier bc of the much shorter clearance, but I’m sure that there’s a few GPUs out there that’ll fit while sacrificing the performance of larger cards. It’s just the trade-offs you’re willing to make in this case.
I personally love open air chassis. My current build is in a thermaltake p3 Pro, with no glass panel. Essentially just a metal slab that everything is mounted to and i love it. Dust has been an easy to fix problem with an electric duster.
I don't know what it is about that particular motherboard, but I find it very aesthetically pleasing. And it looks especially good paired with that Noctua cooler. I really like the way the VRM heatsink is perfectly level with the fan.
Hey Devyn If you like open air cases you should check out the Xtia Proto ATX case. I have that one for 1.5 years now and I couldn’t be more happy. It has basically unlimited go thickness and length and can hold the 240 or 280 AIOs which should cover basically every non work station CPU’s. The case is in total (if you take the 240 AIO) 17 liters. Also I rarely see anyone cover that open case on TH-cam so you could be the first to do an in depth review and build on it
For anyone thinking about buying an open case: I have the XTIA Xproto-ATX case V2 case (same company that he references at 10:12) and I absolutely love it. But what about dust? This must be a huge dust magnet no? It heavily depends on your environment. If people live in a very dusty area then yeah I can imagine you would clean it every month or so but if that's not the case you do not need to clean it that often. I have my open case for almost 1.5 years now and I have cleaned it 3 times so far. and even when I decided to clean it there was an extremely thin (emphasis on thin) layer of dust on the top of te case and GPU with that dust there were no differences in either temperatures or performance. Using an electric air duster and in 5 minutes tops the dust is gone. So yeah if someone wants to buy an open case, they just need to look at how dusty their room is and will become and based on that you can guess fairly accurately how many times you would feel the need to clean your PC. For example, there is a video of a guy who shares an update on not cleaning his PC after 3 months with the same case Devyn references at 10:12. I nowhere nearly have as much as that guy in the video. After 6 months I don't even see dust on my CPU fans or PSU like he does in that video Since TH-cam will not let you post links the title of the video is ''Three months of dust with xproto + cleaning''

Like that case, and I don’t like this type of CPU fan because you’re not gonna get better coolant so that means it’s gonna draw the noise a lot louder if it starts overheat plus you need a ride to fit that kind of stuff for me I’m gonna use a different case
What would you suggest for "Most Frames Per Watt" (1080p) to pair with my 4070 super in my FormD T1? I was leaning towards undervolting a 7600x3d, 7800x3d, or a 9800x3d.
This case is a cool idea but every time I see that a case requires a flex atx PSU I bail out immediately. The reason is that there is no flex atx PSU on the market that is bearable in terms of noise. I know because I tried few of them.
