    I didn't know the shield was reworked. It's so hard for me to not use the kickback. Why this gun? I played around with it and always go back to the kickback.

      They essentially reworked some of the armor damage modifiers so that you more or less will see the same damage numbers no matter what type of enemy you're hitting. It still takes a while, but it no longer takes forever just to kill a single Crusher, and Muties also take more damage. Long story short, a much more well-rounded weapon now in terms of damage profile. The Rippergun is one of the best when you're either playing Duo/Solo, overrun by trash mobs with special enemies pouring in. You can take down multiple specials before having to reload, and each elimination only takes 1-2 bursts. Kickback is good when you're.. Kicking back behind cover (pun intended) and just gunning ranged enemies back, not ideal when you have to handle 5 specials when the horde is on top of you.

    Being killed by a flamer while being grabbed by a boss or mutie, OK fair game I guess since it's an aoe. But being killed by a gunner while being grabbed by a boss should not be a thing... Or it should damage other enemies like it did on Vermintide, ChocoB used the ratling gunners to thin the horde with them in his old vids

      It wasn't a thing before. Chaos Spawn, Mutie grabs, or BoN swallows used to turned off enemies attacks. If you were temporarily incapacitated by any of these attacks, every other enemy stops attacking you. Somewhere down the line, an update broke this, so these grabs can be instant death even at full health. Unfortunately, considering the enemy's audio cues have been broken for half a year (fixed for 1 week and broken by a hot fix immediately after), this issue likely isn't going to be fixed any time soon.

      These anti fun bugs will kill the game if they are not solved because you can't do anything to avoid it since dodges and blocks sometimes don't work as shown multiple times in your videos and Telopots videos.

      Absolutely agree with you. When I lose, I want it to happen due to my own mistakes, not being robbed. I don't even care if they add nothing new in the game and just fix all the existing problems such as silent enemies, weapons not swapping, etc... List is too long. There's a very real threat that Space Marines 2 will absolutely demolish this game too. We can only hope Fatshark gets their shit together.

    I'm trying multiple combos of gun psyker and I find it underwhelming. I don't know what I can do other than run Gaze all the time and shoot everything. This gun does kick butt, I'll give it that much.

      You ARE supposed to gaze all the time, that's the point of gunpsyker. Gaze when lots of specialists about, kill everything and you've almost refreshed cooldown, then gaze again

      Compared to a staff Psyker, you're going from lots of utility to something more "one-dimensional.” You now have less tools for CC, but the damage of your melee and ranged are greatly enhanced through Scrier's Gaze. I agree with what's been said. Outside of small skirmishes, you do want to use SG as much as possible for bigger fights.

      The build link is there so you can follow the talents easily, and the talents will be identical to what's in the video. If you want to replicate the weapon loadout in the video, then you can just refer to what's shown in the video. Hope that helps clarify things! I can't make a unique build link for every variation of a build because then I'd just have an unmanageable mess of hundreds of build links.

    I *think* the borovian is my favourite, it doesnt brain crushers quite like the branx but it clears hordes with that heavy light rotation like a champ.

    I usually really like your builds and while I know not everything needs to be super serious tryhard tree, why not just take smite, drop perilous and go left on middle? Right now you're not taking Warp Expenditure which is free toughness with this build, losing out on Psykinetic Aura for Mind in Motion (which doesn't do much for this build) and it allows you to take Purloined Providence for free Scriers Gaze extension. I'm sure you didn't try to make a super serious tree for this build, but it's a thought.

      This is the most successful gun Psyker setup I've used. I dislike Smite in gun Psyker setups because it forces gun use too often and doesn't conserve ammo. Assail fits my playstyle better because: - You can skip the Assail left-click animation by weapon swapping. Sprint to gunners/specials, stun with Assail, and engage in close combat without losing speed. - Two or three melee attacks on a horde trigger a crit Assail through True Aim, offering excellent horde clear and drastically reducing SG peril buildup. - It can wipe rooms alone, conserving ammo efficiently. - It keeps you safe when you don't have time to reload. These videos demonstrate how hard Assail can carry, even with suboptimal guns for Psykers (which are the new guns): th-cam.com/video/qU5QHTzmoow/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/nkdVgF20-7U/w-d-xo.html Regarding other talent choices: - With SG & Assail being the only sources of peril buildup, the toughness regeneration from Warp Expenditure is very slow. - If you foresee needing toughness, just pre-emptively pull out the gun and get it through Mettle, or quell with Quietude. - Purloin Providence activates rarely and randomly, making it unreliable. It’s even detrimental when you can’t predict when SG will precisely end. - Perilous Combustion is great for room wipes after just 4-6 elite/special kills. Capable of saving runs, especially under Hunting Grounds or mass Mutie conditions.

      I haven't played with the Columnus IAG since the new update (barely had time to play lately), but based on what I remember, the Recon Lasgun does seem superior, at least for the Psyker. The Recon Lasgun (RL) synergizes really well with Scrier's Gaze (SG). Its higher rate of fire and larger magazine capacity mean you can get way more crit shots during SG's duration. By the time the Columnus needs to reload, you can still keep firing (if the entire screen isn't already wiped out). The Columnus IAG is probably still better for the Veteran since they don't have SG.

    Was thinking about making a recon lasgun build for vet. Do you agree that marksman's focus is the keystone to go? Also, how do you feel about stacking brittleness? I think it's not worth it and it's better just to use kraks or armor fucking melee. However, on the other hand, with such firerate 40 brittleness will be achieved in no time

      This is how I look at the Veteran's anti-Crusher solutions: *1. Brittleness (Onslaught & Rending Strikes)* Pros: Doesn’t take mechanical skill and can kill Crushers easily. Cons: Still costs a lot of ammo to take out a Crusher; INSANELY heavy talent investments for one of the rarest enemies in the game. *2. Melee Only (Shredder Frags, Reciprocity, Desperado, & optionally Trench Fighter Drill)* Pros: Better horde clear, easier to deal with bosses when you have their aggro. Cons: Cannot deal with Crushers at range, not feasible for melee weapons with poor anti-armor performance, and suicidal for anyone who doesn't know how to fight Crushers in melee. *3. Krak Grenades* Pros: Easiest fire-and-forget solution. Cons: There will be more Crushers/Bulwarks than you have Krak Grenades, so you’ll either rely on your team for the rest or incorporate #1 or #2 in addition to this. You also lose the all-purpose Frag Grenades, which are generally better. Your concerns about stacking brittleness are very valid. Whether it’s needed depends on one's melee skill and/or desired play style. Despite what some people think, #2 is completely viable and it's what I prefer most of the time. Some may label it a bad build because not everyone is comfortable with not being able to deal with Crushers at range, but I'd say go for it if you are competent in melee. As for the best keystone for a Recon Veteran, I still need more testing to know for sure. Marksman’s Focus might just be the best because you have tons of ammo from Survivalist and Shock Trooper to take advantage of it.

      @@xstreamdray I guess I should have clarified that I was asking about anti-armor ways for the case of recon lasgun builds. I used brittleness stacking for columnus, however I don't think that it will be a good idea in case of a lasgun. It made me think that appropriate melee in conjunction with kraks would be a better option against armor. However if shooting at 40% crushers is not so bad, then maybe it's the way to go since it's more convenient

      What I said does apply to Recon Lasguns. Stacking rending/brittleness can easily output >1000 DPS on Crushers so it's pretty effective. Whether it's worth it will depend on your goal for the build, as aforementioned. If you wanted to adapt your Columnus build for Recon Lasguns, you can probably just try to figure out where to remove points to get Shock Trooper for more ammo efficiency (or don't, if you think you have enough ammo).

    bad advice, if your team mates are near you you will slide directing fire to them, which will disturb them from effectively killing the enemies that are locked on you because you are blocking them. The slide is only useful to doge trappers, fire, gas and dogs if you are forced into shieldwall, if there is a sniper while you are forced into a shieldwall you have to hold the shieldwall since dodging sniper shots can be and would be immediately lethal to your team.

      Thanks for your feedback! Let's clarify a few things: - Friendly fire is no longer a thing, so you can’t block teammates’ shots. - You’re not meant to stay in front of your teammates. They can also highlight elite/special enemies through you. - Dodging sniper shots with an Ogryn is no more dangerous than with any other class. Plus, a Shield Ogryn can hold block while dodging to make it even safer. It's understandable to have concerns if you're unfamiliar with when to use the movement tech, but your points don't align with the current game mechanics. Thanks for your input!

What I am saying comes from extensive experience in playing a shield ogryn. That you don't want to grasp the problem you are creating shows it is you who rather does not understand how the game mechanics work and how a tanking ogryn's must have talents come into play here. For your information, there is a talent that is a must have for all who play a shield ogryn for tanking it's called "Attention Seeker" that effectively makes the enemies that are shooting at you, while you are blocking them with a shield, locked onto you. That is what I am talking about and not friendly fire. I'd have clarified this point if I knew you needed to learn about ogryn talents but you give the false impression of knowing everything about game mechanics so I presumed you know how and why enemies whose attacks are blocked by you stay locked on you. There are a few cases in which the better play is to shieldwall and hold aggro while your team kills the enemies instead. A tanking shield ogryns gameplay must be consistent so that your team can intuitively read your reactions to the enemy and act accordingly in cohesion knowing the protection you provide extends to them in a predictable manner. Good tanking like I described ends up in a team that learns to follow and have an eye on their tank, this ends up even more beneficial in this game because you as the good tank will inspire to keep and hold team cohesion instead. Therefore sliding around with your shieldwall is detrimental to both team integrity and cohesion, since it makes your behaviour unpredictable and may most likely end up directing enemy fire towards your team, putting your team in danger which in turn builds mistrust in your ability to mitigate damage effectively as a tank. This is even more dangerous when one or more snipers are locked on your blocking since snipers can one-shot almost anyone. You're welcome.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. It seems our playstyles differ significantly. While I understand your point, I believe the Shield's high damage output allows for both holding aggro and dealing significant DPS. This benefits the team more than just holding aggro, as each member has their own ways to mitigate damage. In my experience, the Shield can be used so aggressively that the movement tech in this video becomes almost unnecessary and is only an escape option for situations where going deeper into the offense is fatal. Nor will you ever have to hunker down with the Shield and only hold aggro for the team.       @@xstreamdrayYou should have clarified that this is most effective in duo play, because otherwise (as I explained) it is detrimental to a teamplay experience where the shield ogryn is tanking (aka. mitigating damage and expected to hold as much aggro as possible. Holding aggro is an effective way for an ogryn to keep the team safe, shieldwall or not. That is not contradictory to dealing damage as your videos show that well, since less memebers in a team also means holding aggro requires much less effort to manage. The highest difficulty setting in the game are Auric Maelstroms.

      It's even better to be aggressive with a full team because you have enough firepower to constantly push forward. In Duos, you are actually forced to kite in many scenarios due to limited firepower. Sacrificing 25% of a team's power for pulling aggro means throwing away that advantage. Furthermore, the game is much harder in True Duo than with a full team. If a strategy is so effective that you can beat the game with just 50% firepower, it stands to reason that it’d be more than good enough when you literally have double that firepower. As aforementioned, you can hold aggro aggressively and still deal high DPS. If your goal was to keep teammates safe - a dead/staggered enemy is infinitely less threatening than ones hitting your shield. In fact, there is no stronger form of CC in the game than *DEATH*. Lastly, the game's highest difficulty, Auric Maelstrom, can be much easier than Auric Damnation. It all depends on the special condition. For example, Mostly Ranged Auric Maelstrom is MUCH easier than Hi-Intensity Auric Damnation to the point that it feels like normal Heresy.

    I just hope Fatshark reaction to overtuning recon lasguns won't be Mettle nerf. I find most gun psyker builds rather boring, but I use Mettle on melee psyker. Crit based toughness regen in melee is quite consistent if you build right.

      I think it's because without Gaze you cut down on your damage so much, so having Gaze available more often is probably better. Im not a big gun psyker fan so I can't say for sure. I call Gun psykers for ammo vaccumes.

      Ults win games, and 10% more Ults for the team (or even just for yourself) will outpace 5% crit chance by a lot in the long run. Taking 5% crit chance also means you lose access to One with the Warp.

      It's a unique weapon to be sure. Guns that have no recoil typically don't have fast time to kill (TTK), but this is super fast.

    37:20 this is not a glitch. So first off whilst the screen has the blue border you are in gaze. It takes a split second after dinging 100% before it stops. The same way staves and brain burst wont kill you at 95%. Gaze needs to physically be at 100% for a split second for any extra peril gain to kill you. You were queling on the same game tick it checked if you would spend any. It doesnt end the micro second you hit 100% after you hit 100% there is that peril cap sound that plays. After that sound it is over. Basically theres a half second of delay on hitting 100% before gaze stops. It gives you a window to control your peril. If you play void staff gaze alot this is a god send. If you play asial gaze it will kill you until you get alot of experience pushing it. Or you just play safe and never throw after 85%. This is also super good on gun psyker as you can do a last second swap to blitz and quell to hold onto your stacks to prepare for gaze to end and you get that last push of 30 stacks.

    PSA: 37:20 Scrier's Gaze is supposed to end whenever you reach 100% peril (which it clearly did) but somehow it wasn't over and I died from this false info. I didn't have the mods that modify the peril UI either, so this might just be a new glitch on our hands.

    I was like wait 1.2 mil dmg? I have done 800k in auric damnation when I went super tryhard. Then I saw you had 2 bots (then 1) not doing any damage. Other players are very good (mostly) and they tend to all hit 500-600k or the super specs hit 700-900k So I was here like omg how did you get 1.2 haha All good I'm not mad, though it's a tiny bit clickbait.

      By data getting lost, you mean losing stuff in the game? Don't think I've heard that happen to anyone before. I'd say getting the scoreboard mod is the bare minimum so you have a benchmark to test builds with. If you're regularly playing Damnation, know the basics of melee combat and how to avoid damage, you should try Auric. Dying at the beginning is normal, and learning from those mistakes are the only way you'd learn. So go ahead!

And thanks for the motivation much appreciated =) 723 hours of game time so far I am very familiar with the combat and tactics in the game just a matter of getting into a working team as well but so far I had luck players are performing very well most of the times so I guess I will give auric a go, cheers :)

      Good question! 1. Trauma Staff and Venting Shriek will already put everything on fire (even beyond your screen). 2. Wildfire doesn't function according to its tooltip description, but rather as follows: "Whenever an enemy who is affected by at least two stacks of Psyker's Soulblaze dies, Soulblaze spreads to valid targets within a 5m radius. The amount of Soulblaze stacks that spread depends on the amount of Soulblaze stacks on the dying enemy: If dying with 1 stack, no spread; if dying with 2 stacks, 2 stacks will spread; if dying with 3 stacks, 3 stacks will spread; if dying with 4 stacks, 4 stacks will spread; if dying with more than 4 stacks, only 4 stacks will spread. The maximum amount of valid targets is 4: If 4 stacks to spread and 4 targets, each target receives 1 stack; if 4 stacks to spread and 3 targets, 1 target receives 2 stacks while the other 2 targets receive 1 stack each. Targets can only receive up to 4 Soulblaze stacks caused by the talent. Daemonhosts are no valid targets." In other words, practically the single most useless talent in the entire game due to the stack cap.

    Love it. Nice breakdown of the whole build, I especially like how you explained the synergies in great detail and gave examples of the procs. Until know I thought that the Trauma Staff was crap and avoided using it, but I'll give this one a go! I run a similar build with purgatus as a crowd control psyker and it just deletes complete hordes in seconds. It has very bad strikedown and AP capabilities tho, so I need someone to keep the crushers off of me.

      Yeah if you have Kinetic Deflection, you'll be fine. In fact, the Psyker can just spam push attacks with the knife therefore staggering most things and it's actually super safe.

I dont see 1 or 2 hand chain swords, force swords, shock maul(even though its new) and power swords. So no, its not off of 3 vids.

      Knife is popular because it's fast. Unfortunately i rarely see knife users who are actually any good at using it. This vids not optimal either. My group basically never uses knives, I can think of few melee weapons that aren't good nowadays.

      who's videos are you watching? you can use pretty much any melee weapon and be just fine. XIII chainsword, Tac axe, Eviscerator, Shock maul, Dueling sword, Deimos Blaze sword and yeah, Knives, are all incredibly viable weapons and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. There aren't many objectively bad melee options, I suppose a lot of people stick to the knives because they're convenient and very easy to just spam M1 with most the time.
