Since Psykers don't have any reload speed enhancements, the DPS is kinda low with the Double Barrel Shotgun.. Still hella fun, but I actually want to play with the other 3 shotguns that are already in the game. Think Fatshark will give Psykers those 3 shotguns if we ask for it hard enough? Who's with me!?
Wait until you roll the Both Barrels blessing on one. It reloads faster than the animation, letting you get serious psyker DPS value with Scrier's Gaze. It's how I got my first 40+ kills during Scrier's Gaze.
I tried that but didn't like how I only got the bonus if I did the right click. I wish it gave us the reload speed buff even if we kill with single shots so we would have more control.
@@xstreamdray speedloader is the okay middleground. Not as big a buff, but more flexible. I find I only need the speed when I'm ripping through a ton of enemies, though, so I'm fine that it only works with the right click shots.
The way you play the build takes a good deal of skill. I'm still playing around with the gun psyker build and it's rough. I haven't been playing this game too long, for context. I found the rapier, machine gun, smite combo is working easier for me but it's still rough. I'll bust out the smite if things get too hairy and I need quick and easy cc.
As you get some more time into the game get away from smite. When you start getting into the higher levels you’ll be almost universally hated for running smite. No one likes dirty smykers lol. Assail is a way better choice for gun psyker.

My go-to for high level missions is brain burst/venting shriek/purgatus staff. I like Empowered Psyonics for cap stone. Force sword for melee.
@@J.B.1982just gotta know how to ply smite at hugher levels. Which basically boils down to using it very sparingly. Works well on Gun Psyker but i use it basically never tbh. However, its lets you take some passives that you cant get with assail and also lets you „safe“ 2 more skill points. With this build scriers gaze is either on cooldown or active. Use it non stop. With assail gun psyker i use it less and use more assail. Assail gun psyker is def nice if you dont wanna constantly melee the hordes. TL;DR: i got an assail ans a smite gun psyker, both are fun but a lil different. When considering cc always remember: the best cc is death lol

Yeah if you have Kinetic Deflection, you'll be fine. In fact, the Psyker can just spam push attacks with the knife therefore staggering most things and it's actually super safe.
That's a pretty weird take. My channel is basically full of videos featuring different load outs, playing on the hardest difficulty, and sometimes without a full team. Same with telopots's channel. Did you draw your conclusion from a sample size of 3 or something lol?
@@xstreamdray Ive watched 37 different videos on darktide builds for psyker, zelot and veteran. 35 of them are knife wielders. 1 psyker dueling sword. 1 zelot 2h sword. I dont see 1 or 2 hand chain swords, force swords, shock maul(even though its new) and power swords. So no, its not off of 3 vids.
Knife is popular because it's fast. Unfortunately i rarely see knife users who are actually any good at using it. This vids not optimal either. My group basically never uses knives, I can think of few melee weapons that aren't good nowadays.
who's videos are you watching? you can use pretty much any melee weapon and be just fine. XIII chainsword, Tac axe, Eviscerator, Shock maul, Dueling sword, Deimos Blaze sword and yeah, Knives, are all incredibly viable weapons and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. There aren't many objectively bad melee options, I suppose a lot of people stick to the knives because they're convenient and very easy to just spam M1 with most the time.
@@Cynixx I believe you can use any weapon in the game. But when i look at experience player videos, i only see knives. Right now on twitch, there are 4 zelots streaming. All 4 are using knives.

You're the one that makes me try gun psykers bc otherwise i really struggle with it
I'd say just practice with Assail so it can carry you no matter what gun you use. Assail definitely carried this setup hard lol.

I need to do something goofy on psyker like this. I'm just not a huge fan of guns in this game. Would rather melee and magic! Lol
Gunplay isn't anything to write home about in this game, but it's not that bad. Give everything a try!
Great play, but I can't manage scrier builds, too old, skill issues, I stick with warp shield
