Damn, it's nice to see some innovation in vet gameplay straying away from the cookie cutter Voice of Command builds without becoming some weird memebuild. However it still makes me a bit sad about the current weapon balance when you're already on yellow ammo after the first monstrosity... a plasma would have barely made it halfway through the first magazine at that point. Really wish they gave the bolter some love, the ammo economy for it sucks, draw time is too long, the huge sway while ADSing... still a very fun weapon though! Great video and gameplay!

bolter used to be brokenly good. best gun in the game. but so many people complained that fatshark over corrected and crushed it. it's not terrible. and its still best boss killer imo (but i use a totally different build for mine). but it just doesn't feel good to use to me anymore. its mag dump no longer feels like a straight line wall of death. and in terms of single shot power i far prefer the plasma or even the revolver. its been nerfed too hard to justify its poor ammo count and long reload. if you can make the bolter work still you will be even better with other guns imo.
Really interesting idea. I was trying exe stance to quickdraw the bolter but it is too glass cannon. Stealth would buy time to unpack the bolter and provide survivability. Think I'm going to try something like this.
Yeah most people go with Executioner's Stance because it theoretically gives more damage, but in practice it doesn't work as well. You won't always have boss aggro to let you consistently headshot to make the most out of it. You also can't conserve ammo by engaging gunners far away with melee because you'd just die rushing towards them. Stealth lets pull off the combo regardless of the situation and you no longer need to shoot everything as stealth melee serves just fine in most cases. Give it a try and lemme know your thoughts!
Bolter feels weird to me on xbox but if I ever find one worth using ill let it rock. Ive had alot of fun with plasma power sword infiltrate myself. Ive also enjoyed infiltrate cuz so many people play voice it adds variance to a team comp and camoflauge when you play with your team can be very powerful. I can see why you would go extra damage after infiltrate as opposed to camoflauge and maybe I should do that as well. Going camo is a bit like preparing for things to fail and relying on your team to be able to handle that aggro when thats not always going to be the case but i also never run away or leave my team alone playing infiltrate either.
If by Camo you're referring to Low Profile which lowers your Threat level, it's usually pretty bad for Vet and it's not because of dumping aggro on your team. You need that aggro to trigger things like Reciprocity and Riposte to give you insane levels of crit chance.
100 percent agree on the 25% Maniac on Bolter. Dreg Ragers can shred you so fast you want to waste them before they get anywhere near you. I find the bolter very clumsy and slow to use. Particularly reloads and the annoying cocking of bolt every time you switch to it. I've tried shotguns, revolvers and the heavy Las pistol for that big punch hitter. Las pistol probably edges it for me, although it can chew ammo if you get wave after wave of elite and specialist squads
Ive played revolver alot and I havent gotten that much into las pistol but the plasma gun is my shit and its not even just cuz it opens bulwarks and has crazy cleave I genuinely love the single shot weapons in this game and I love you have to actually aim it and cant ads or spray and pray in ads. Even if they nerf plasma ill probably still main it. Im excited for bolt pistol cuz even though im on xbox im so much better with single shot weapons than sutomatic its not even funny and I really dont know why cuz ive heard people say the opposite. You give me a columnus and I cant hit shit past 15 meters lol. One thing I love about plasma is how much fire power you can dish out before you reload and often times in this game you need it. Also its great boss dps which I think people who dont use it dont realize. I cant tell you how many people dont have boss dps built into their loadout and just flail around when bosses spawn but with plasma you dont ever have to worry about that.
@seanmaguire380 Actually, I'm not too sure about the Maniac perk on this specific Boltgun of mine. It doesn't really help me meet new and meaningful breakpoints, and I still need 2 shots for Ragers with or without the perk. Flak would let me 1 shot a lot more things, but alas, I can't do much when they still won't fully unlock the weapons for us. @infrared6973 You need a high stability stat for Columnus otherwise you're missing a ton of bullets on full auto. It wouldn't even matter if you were an aim god like Shroud because you can't compensate for random horizontal recoil. I'd say try one with a 7X% stability stat and you might find more success with it.
Best overall? No. Best for the boss killing niche because it isn't weak against hordes or any type of enemy? Yes. With that said, it shines best in Auric Monstrous Maelstrom missions. After you unload your attacks, the boss is either half dead or already dead. So long as you get to the boss before your teammates (which you will because of the knife), they don't even get to fight the bosses much.
@@xstreamdray The new mark of TH goes through weaker foes until it collides with something bigger. Albeit it does a little less damage than the previous mark, you still can 1-2 tap actual bosses with proper blessings and buffs
yeah hammer or gun lugger, this was decent but it aint taking a crown, comparable dps to martyrdom zealot with good gear so is melee but trade off is tankiness, i'm taking the tankiness, plus you take invis over headshot, that shit is 50% inc damage to heads regardless the target so not only not running shout but not even running the best monstrosity killing ability.... please my guy
