Always wear sterile gloves Wound in arms and legs - tourniquet Wound in joints (groin, hips, shoulders) - pack with guaze Anywhere else, you will need emergency medical services. If nobody is coming prepped and ready for surgery within the hour, you need to usher them into the long sleep peacefully. If there is, Chest wounds and neck wounds need to be covered with plastic to block potential airways and are not packed with gauze. Gut/abdominal wounds do not get packed with guaze, nor do they receive pressure. The most you can do is ensure theyre on their back with their knees bent. You can dress the wound topically to help keep the wound closed, thats it.

I found that the padding on the MMM splint comes away from the metal easily in warmer climates. Must be a weak glue holding it on. Recommend the manufacturer finds a stronger adhesive.

Nice video, l carry the SWAT in my uniform pocket and my SOF-t in my Med Kit, for self application l would always go SOF-t but for job l do the SWAT in more convenient to carry.

Dude this is 100% truth. I was an army medic for 12 years. Four deployments. We used to preach to the specialists first time in theatre that being calm is way more important than getting things done fast. Be clam, direct, and purposeful. If you do that, you'd be surprised how everyone else around you will mirror your behavior. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

So… North American Rescue is the only legitimate tourniquet!??? I steer clear of counterfeits but there other legitimate brands.

Not tight enough before you turned the windlass. You should be able to stop blood flow within like 3 cranks if you initially tightened the strap enough.
