I'd add here to make sure you get out of the way once the addict wakes up. They may be pissed that you interrupted their high. Remember, they're not in their right mind. It happens.

Got one in each car med kit but certainly wasn’t free for me, plus had to get Rx for them. Im pretty sure you don’t even need an Rx anymore though. 😩 Still worth the cost if it could save a life, just like everything else in there. Also, if you’re a CPR instructor or other medical provider, you can email the mfr and they’ll send you a box (10 for me) of inert Narcan trainers.

Thanks for the outstanding presentation. If anyone has a loved one dealing with this issue, get them help. Presently, it is Russian roulette on the streets with every chamber fully loaded. Be safe.

In France we also have Prenoxad kit, It's like Narcan, but intramuscular.
The kit is a bright yellow little compact case with instructions printed on the top and bottom, it contains :
- A pre-filled syringe with 5 doses (2ml, naloxone 0,91mg/ml)
- 2 Needles (In case a breakage or twist)
- quick reference guide.
The Prenoxad kit is easy and fast to be set up and administrate. I have one on my trauma kit, It doesn't take up much space at all and can be the difference between life and death.

We met at the NRA show in Indianapolis. Thanks for being such a cool dude. I’ve heard of the recovery position but I never seen it demonstrated. That alone was worth the watch. Is Narcan used to treat anything else besides OD’s?
Haha! You're welcome! The answer to your question is no. Narcan is not used to treat anything besides opioid OD.

Respectfully, I think you’re wrong in this case. You can completely reverse this situation in a few seconds all by yourself. It is like a light switch.

Administer the dose, and then immediately call 911.
I would use it on an accidental overdose
But not on a heroin junkie who is just going to go out and do the same thing as soon as they're out of the hospital
How are you supposed to tell the difference? You gonna stand there and debate while someone lays dying in front of you? When the intervention costs you nothing?
Everyone deserves a second chance in my opinion. I sure am thankful for the second chances I have had in my life and am glad my bad choices are not held against me any longer. They may not change up their life style, but maybe this is the event that gets through to them to take better care of themselves.
