Hey what do you guys think about carrying Narcan in your ifak?? You can't be too careful there's so much fentanyl everywhere now.

I would advise against it for most people. If you've never narcan'ed anyone before, when they wake up it's not "big happy hug it out thanks for saving me". They're going to wake up pissed off and try to fight you because you just ruined their high. (Or if you're lucky, you get the one guy who's like "what? huh? where am I?" and then throws up all over you or someone else.) Most EMTs in my area will also secure the patient in their ambulance before giving them narcan anyway, for this exact reason.
Personally, I see carrying narcan like I see carrying an epi-pen: If you don't know the person, and you're not a medical professional, giving it to them is just asking for trouble. That being said, if you are medical (be it military or civilian first responder or hospital staff) then the rules are different for you. The only time I'd recommend it for people who aren't medical is if they're still in the line of duty, to keep it in your IFAK in case you or your partner get exposed in the performance of your duties.

@@bebop_557 yes I'm not trying to go find high people on the sidewalk to blast them with it. Maybe if someone with them asking for help for them. It would be hard to say no if I had the means to help. But I want it mostly for me and my family in case of accidental expose or whatever unforseen accident. You never know.
