Heart Gold & Soul Silver are the best remakes. I usually just enjoy roaming around Johto and doing the extra content. I have completed the Johto games multiple times. With the Pokémon availability and level curve fixes, Crystal Legacy makes Crystal genuinely a top 3 contender for best game. Overall though. I find Platinum the best game if you have the fast-forward feature of the emulators. Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen are still the best games for any beginners. Simple and infinite replayability.

I am all down for remakes/remasters being made, that's never stopped any other company from making them. However, the special fanbase of Pokemon players deemed BDSP as the worst remake cause it didn't have the "amazing" graphics that the previous games had that were released on the Switch. The games weren't even terrible, just a bunch of crybabies that felt that the games were a setback just because they remained faithful to the original style of Pokemon, but with better quality like any other remake that has been made.

Pokémon XD and Colosseum still being better 3D Pokémon Games while being released on GameCube back then.

It’s really cool hearing about the humble beginnings. I’ve never been super into Pokemon so I never even knew about GameFreak until a couple years ago, I used to just assume Pokemon was entirely first-party.

2D is the only good Pokemon.

If you think about it, HGSS and BDSP did the same thing, they just updated the graphics and made some legendaries more obtainable, while also making Pokémon follow you

Only issue with the video is the last point. Creatures inc and gamefreak are both managed and financed by nintendo, so the blame for not having them on switch falls squarely on Nintendo shoulders

As someone who has absolutely no attachment to pokemon and played my first pokemon game 2 years ago with platinum then went through gen 5, then gen 6 and 7 then 3 and then 9 I am 100% on team 2D the 3D games feel just different I cant explain it

I was 8-9 in 1998 when Pokémon hit the US. It literally took my little world by storm. It did that for the rest of the world as well. Every one of my friends were into it. We ate, slept and breathed Pokémon. The games? AMAZING. The show? AMAZING. The cards? AMAZING. It came at such a great time in history. Technology was at its baby stages as far as internet goes. If you were stuck at parts of the game, you had to rely on friends or the strategy guides. Which looking back is just perfect. There was something romantic about not being too connected back then. Life was so much more intentional. Nowadays when a game is out, or you’re playing through old games and stuck at a part? Just google it. That’s so boring. Nothing, I mean NOTHING will EVER top Pokemania. I’m glad I got to be a kid at that time. I’m happy for all the other kids who got to experience it as well. I love all of the broken parts of the OG games and the games that came after. It makes them unique. I’m 34 now and I still have my childhood cards. I’m still adding to my card collection, collecting strictly WOTC cards. Nothing in life will ever beat the happiness and nostalgia Pokémon still brings me. You just had to be there!

It's simpler than that - I'm not paying $300 for a Switch to start Pokemon Green all over again, when my green Game Boy Pocket fits in my pocket and still plays my original game with the original save!

Pokemania was quite literally the peak highlight of my life. I was about 6 or 7 at the time. I’m absolutely sure nothing will ever top the incredible feeling I felt in the world during that time. If there ever was a time where you felt like there was peace and unity across the world, it had to be during that time even amongst all the craziness. The Pokémon Go craze during 2016 was probably a fraction of what Pokemania was during 98-2000.
