I think one of the great things about the theme is that it used the fact that the main cast are teenagers more than previous entries Teenagers have alot of energy and rebellious spirit compared to other ages
This was my first Persona game, I've never even heard of the series until Joker was added to Smash Bros, now I love it, I played both the base game as well as Royal, then I played Persona 3 Reload, and now I'm playing Persona 4 Golden, I really hope the first two games get brought over to modern consoles

@@Chung14-e8z you can thank all the skyward sword haters for criticizing the gameplay. Zelda was about exploration from the zelda 1 and snes games. Also don't act like persona 5 is perfect. The amount of interruptions and unnecessary cutscenes and story dragging on for far too long is honestly such a deal breaker. ....I think I like Persona more than Pokemon.... The stories go beyond anything I've ever played, they hook you. And it's almost impossible to see everything during one playthrough. Persona 6 is going to be huge.
11:13 partially correct, Sakurai has always been a fan of the saga and always wanted to introduce a Persona character in Smash, he could by taking advantage of the popularity of Persona 5
My very first persona game. I played Royal for the first time a few months ago. And man. What a game. Landed in my top 5 favorites of all time. 135 hours to get the true ending and I still miss it now that it’s all said and done. Every part of the cast is unique and has their quirks. The game ooozes with funk and style with the soundtrack and visuals. I have never played anything like it before in my life and I have over 200,000 G’s on Xbox. It’s truly special and will always have a place in my heart. Can’t wait to play Persona 3 Reload!
@@zukinu12skinnyp4PLEASE PLAY RELOAD!!! In my opinion at least, Reload is WAYYYYY better than Royal, not to say that Royal isn’t bad, no no, Royal is still in my top ten favourite games of all time. Reload is also much faster to finish, in about 70 hours I think? It is my third favourite game of all time as of right now, behind Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Dragon Quest 11 S
Expectations is what derails a game's real charm. Think of the recent Hollow Knight controversy with no news of Silksong for years. The expectations for Persona 6 are massive. About Persona 5, though, this game has actually grown into its own franchise as you say. The spin-offs (which I haven't played but found out there were A LOT of them) work to expand the lore and characterization of the main cast. There's something in all of these kids that you LOVE instantly. Maybe deep down we've all been in that spot: being taken advantage of by someone "more powerful" than ourselves, but we couldn't manage to gather the courage to face them off. I'm currently playing the Royal version for Nintendo Switch and, I need to say it, having it in portable mode anytime and anywhere is AMAZING. One of the most empathic stories I've experienced and one I'm looking forward to play to its fullest (as possible). I'm getting at least the direct two sequels, Strikers and Tactica, to experience more of this side of Japan that I've grown to love so much
When Persona 5 came out I literally fell in love. It had been so long before I played a very good RPG game like this. The story, music, characters, boss, and overall them is just top notch. I remember have to set aside a whole week to just finish the game because I was just trying to do all the side quest.
Persona. A game that I’ve clocked in over 500 hours on the whole series I can fully say that it has changed not just my life but others. This video really just shows why this game is that good and why people should play it (as of writing this I am currently playing persona 5 royal on my ng+)
THANK YOU. It's so refreshing to see a video about a game like this that isn't critical or hateful. But acknowledges what this game means to so many people
I remember reading somewhere that the 2,000,000 copies that Persona 4 Golden sold was a combined amount with the Vita, plus when it was released on Steam in 2020 (three years after Persona 5’s international release). There’s also the fact that the PS Vita only sold 10,000,000 units worldwide, so that number sounds insanely high for that one console in particular.
Bought this game on ps4 a few years ago but didn’t get to finish it since my ps4 stopped working. I re-purchased it for the switch & recently finished it. It’s one of those games that I didn’t want to end.
This was such a damn good explanation on why the game stands out, and why it's so good for what it tries to show, instead of just talking about stuff everyone knows. Thank you for such a good video. You've earned my subscription, and a like.
What I love about this Persona game is that this one is the one that hits home the most than the others since there are people like those antagonists in real life
Also, the ✨️noir aesthetics✨️ Noir isn't really common in the anime/jrpg sphere, and this aesthetic really made p5 stand out. Paired with the jazz ost, it's just *chef's kiss*
I recently beaten the game and all I have to say is…the game made me cry. From the music and characters I got attached too, persona 5 royal is by far my favorite game of all time
Persona(l) story about me getting into the series: I went to the Japan in 2023 for my life-experience trip, one of my items that I bring from JP was Switch OLED. I was never convinced to buy this kind of portable console in my entire life (I never had also the PSP) so I started to check all the "best of" titles of Switch. As a regular PC and Xbox/PS player, I started getting into jrpgs (previously I played the FF7 on PSX only) - the first one was persona 5. I struggled much with conversations and interactions while playing, but after I noticed that my japanese skill level starts to get better I just felt totally to that kind of a game. The video is great done with explanations about the mechanics and gameplay, and I can say easily that that kind of a experience is for a small % of gamers. I still think that many people misunderstood JRPGs, but it's so cool that one day it can hit You like a stone with a new kind of a view for a video games. Love to persona, best greetings for an author 🥳🎇
“The characters can be self inserts for the player and through them, they could conquer their hardest challenges in life.” Man that hit deep. I played this game 2 months ago and it has become one of if not my favorite game. It’s the ONLY game I was genuinely sad to finish as it felt like a part of my life and it’s helped me learn to live life more authentically. I’m still working on that but I’m making progress towards being my true self and saying what I really want to say and hence, being rebellious. Beautiful game and a great video
This game is a masterpiece i played through and beat p5 and now am onto royal it's crazy how they make it as fun or enjoyable the second time around, the music and the art style are truly one of a kind, love your video man! Keep going and take your time! 😄
As one of many introduced to the persona series through 5 (watching gameplay initially, then playing P5R over lockdown), it boggles my mind that fans of other games in the series, or even other Atlus RPGs, are upset that this game has not only introduced far more fans to the series specifically, but the JRPG genre more broadly. Not only does the increased attention mean more revenue for the developers, leading to more and higher quality games in the same vein as those they love, it also grows the community, allowing for the creation of fan content, and encouraging both Atlus and other developers to continue growing the genre, and to stick to a similar or higher quality. Even if you aren't the biggest fan, or think the P5 games are worse than other entries in the series (looking at you, P3 and P4 fans), the success of P5, and the fans brought in by it, will only better the community as a whole. Fantastic video outlining why, my dude.
I still love Persona 3 a bit more but I also keep on playing Persona 5 a lot. Currently I am on my third playthrough. The soundtrack is just so comforting.
I just beat p5r for The first time and it immediately became one of my favorite games of all time Currently playing ng+ because I missed my chance to raise my relationship with maruki to get the true ending
This game is so great that I literally cannot bring myself to replay it. This is an issue I've never experienced with the rest of the heavy hitters in the franchise, including 3 and 4. Unfortunately, once you know the major plot points, it becomes quite the chore to go through everything again. Granted, you may want to experience the 3rd semester and Maruki's arc, but even then, like all major Atlus re-releases, Royal has been watered down in terms of difficulty so that's one point in favour of the original. On the flipside, my first playthrough was pure magic that I'll always remember. It was on an old version of rpcs3 that still had a lot of the usual glitches associated with the game on that emu (e.g. the blackened portraits during dialogue sections) and yet, it still kept me glued. It takes a pretty special and masterfully done game for that to happen. It's a bit like The Sixth Sense - amazing the first time around, but not nearly as good on subsequent views.
I just completed Persona 5 Royal, my very first Persona game! It took me 227 hours! I was analyzing all the dialogues and just enjoyed the game to the fullest! 😃
These are my favorite games in recent years: The Witcher 3, The Last Of Us, Red Dead Redemption 2, Uncharted 4... As you can tell, I have a preference in a certain genre, and yet Persona 5 got be hooked in a few hours and has become one of my favorites as well. I'm not into jrpgs, and that's saying something. Can't wait what they'll do with Persona 6
I loved Persona 5 got it when it came had so much fun, I recently got Royal on steam and enjoying it remembering stuff and places :-) only 11 hours in but so damn good. It honestly really is one of the best games ever made, lots of drama intresting characters, lots of things to do and if you replay can do totally different things in your spare time to get different results to see what works best, hangout more with different characters etc... oh and of course dealing with heavy issues and problems was well done IMO while sticking to that Anime sort of feel to things.
You had to be there when all those secret marketing campaigns were happening. The marketing for the game was genius! Makes you feel like a real life Lupin III heist was happening in front of your eyes!
I’m big fan of Persona Games and Persona 5 is the one of my favorite game than 3 and 4. I bought: Persona 5 for PS4 (it was exclusive on PS4 before) Persona 5 for PS5 (Steelboox Edition) Persona 5 for Switch (Steelboox edition)
Honestly I believe the rise in popularity in anime at the time is what got people into it. Along with the last game being well received and the hype surrounding Persona 5 from hardcore fans. I had previously tried to get all my friends to try these games but they would always reject them as “weird anime games” until it started to get the nods for GOTY and IGN giving it a positive review
I think a lot of Persona 5 success stems from the timing of when Atlus was bought out by Sega from their previous owners. Even when Index owned Atlus it never seemed like Atlus still ever got proper funding for some of their games often relying on exclusivity and and money from the likes of Nintendo and Sony who would pay for the exclusivity of their games. When Sega bought then they got a new parent company that actually cared about them, and I think it also helps Sega and Atlus have a pretty good history with eachother prior. I'd also argue if it wasnt for Sega the game likely would had not gotten a multi release across the ps3 and ps4 and like would had been only on ps3 and likely would had not gotten the exposure that it did
Theres very little "typical" about persona. Tales Of, or Final Fantasy 4 is a typical jrpg. Persona is a dating sim, wrapped in a pokemon collector, wrapped in a city walk sim, wrapped in a dungeon crawler.
While I really like the game a lot. This entry set itself a part with how engaging the theme was as well as the way they did the dungeons. It was more like fighting back against the society that has put them down. So it was fascinating "You are a Slave, Want Emancipation" . I liked P3 and P4 main characters better. The social link characters of 5 were awesome and it flowed well with the plot. I don't like the milking of entries that Atlus does. Having lots of people setting really high expectations for 6 will be a challenge for them. Well as Hashino and his team not working on Persona now. So it be a challenge for the current Persona team.
If you like this game, you should play the Trails series. That series is the top JRPG series to date IMO. No other game does world building like that, and Falcom has an amazing music team. Don't miss it!
It's insane for me despite how popular and successful persona 5 got, there hasn't been a game that tries to replicate it at all, for all the 9 years I've been waiting for a game to try and make a social sim calendar system with a combat in between there hasn't been one game that tries to do this at all except persona.
@@JacobCruise I'm having my very high hopes up for Atlus, Persona 6 is the only game that could scratch my itch begging for more of this type of game 😭😭
When you do your retrospective, make sure to consider how relevant the topics of game were/are. Teachers with students, money laundering, organized crime, and worker exploitation. The real reason this game spoke to me is that you could see the parallels to real world iddues that Atlus clearly had its fingers on the pulse of. Maybe not it's initial success, but its staying power is certainly based on the problems that still plague society to this day. Most have only become worse. Even if you haven't been personally impacted by some of these topics, likely, you know someone who has. Don't forget the main theme besides rebellion: Justice Good luck, and I look forward to your retrospective
Learned of Persona through smash, and I am sooo glad I did. Honestly my favorite parts about the game aren't even the story or the actual combat, it's the music, the day to day tasks, even shit like the menus is incredibly done. This is coming from someone whose favorite games are Mario games, games which practically live off of gameplay, so the fact I enjoyed a game with considerably less focus on gameplay shows how good persona 5 is at least to me
Honestly I think both P3, P4 and P5 have great gameplay and I don't understand those old fans/SMT fans that don't like the gameplay of Persona. P5 specifically has the best gameplay but the other games are also fun to play.
you want to know what impress me the MOST about Persona 5? ITS ARTSTYLE! (just like you said) Yes, this game is the most anime-graphics than any other anime games like naruto storm series and dragon ball series, oh and also has an over-the-top visual effect.
1:28 Persona 4 Golden released in 2012 for the PSVita. 2008 was the release year of the vanilla P4 on PS2. PSVita didn't exist in 2008. Also, P4G sold over 2 million copies after it released on PC in 2020. It presumably sold more after it was ported to more consoles later on. Vita was a failed console so I doubt it sold on it much. But it was basically THE game to get if you owned a Vita or a Vita system seller if you didn't already have one.
Nice Video, but a just a little more research would have made it great for example: 03:04 Sojiro knows Jokers parents, he literally says it in the opening of the game. The message of Persona 5 is mainly about "Not accepting fate and taking your fate in your own hands" or you could describe it as "not accepting reality as it is and fighting for it". Defeating all those "evil bosses" is a vehicle for that message and yes rebellion is a part of that, but not the core of the plot. The core of the plot is: "Change the world". I would say the words "fate" and "real" are mentioned like 79000 times in the game (okay not that often but you get what I mean).
P5 is a great game, I have over 200 hours into it (even thought I haven’t finished it yet). My favorite part of it is its critique is even more blatant than that of FF7.
I think you underestimated Naoto in this one. I think it go this way: wgen Akechi shows Naoto and Kanji Yosukes headphones Naoto could suspect Akechi then she could make up a plan with Rise and Kanji to take advantage of Adachis plan and ultimately win the fight. I also think that it would be mad funny if teddie didn't appear up until the end and maybe in a deciding moment he would be the one person who makes the investigation team the last one standing thus winning.
Ah man dammit we need persona 6 soon enough, been waiting for 6 years for it. But I do want them to take their time and not rush it. Good things take time to come after all
Persona started to branch off into its own series surpassing it’s original SMT since I’d say persona 4, and funnily enough persona 4 during it’s hayday began to phase out the SMT title. (As persona 1 was ibenroku/revelations: persona then got re-released to SMT: Persona, Persona 2 continues it with SMT: Persona 2 innocent sin and eternal punishment, Persona 3 had a few like SMT: Persona 3, FES, Portable and then Persona 4 had SMT: Persona 4 and then golden where after Persona 4 arena began to phase out the SMT title making persona it’s own series not living under SMT’s shadow (ey) and then Persona 4 dancing onto 5 and onward have never had any SMT title) and it’s weird for a spin-off of a spin-off to get spin-offs cause Megami Tensei (the name sake of MegaTen games) is a book series that got adapted to a game, then when atlus took over they gave the SHIN Megami Tensei a new coat of paint having it be very Christian focused and making God and Satan have a duel. Then SMT: IF came out with the very barebones blueprints of persona and people liked SMT: IF so then atlus made persona 1, very similar to SMT that it basically needed the title/subtitle of SMT and thus my statement before. Thank you all for seeing my uber nerdness and very weird borderline obsession with atlus and SMT/Persona.
Amazing video if you see this comment maybe a video on persona 6 expectations would make for a cool video especially with 5 setting the bar at the level it’s at now and with 3 reload as example for what Altus got cooking
Persona 5 is easily one of the best game I’ve ever played. However, P5R is more complicated. I feel like the extra story at the end in P5R didn’t really do the previous story justice, the story should’ve ended where it ended. Akechi’s storyline could’ve been a lot better if he stayed the original ending. Also there’s Kasumi, I must say I dislike her a lot. Although her character looks cute, but first of all, her whole existence really felt empty and pointless to me apart from doing some fan service. And secondly, she felt like pushed a lot, which makes me who only wanna romance Haru or someone like me who only wants to romance certain characters really uncomfortable.
I would heavily disagree. I do think the theme, despite related to rebellion, is starky different from the original theme by deconstructing the desire of free will and grow when they give people pain. It's not like The Answer where the theme of accepting death is the same, but it explored the origin of each character's journey and deconstruct the determination they gained by experience new loss. But on its own, it's a emotional and somber story of accepting and grow from the tragedies and the flawed origin the characters endured and resolve to live in spite of the pain reality can bring. Kasumi's story is a great representation of Royal theme, when she's a victim of painful life, unable to accept and grow past her life until she learned to be accept herself as an individual and resolve to live as herself. It's also explore the moral ambiguity behind the final villain's action as despite his action and goal is no different from Yaldabaoth, his motive is driven by his empathy and genuine care, while Yaldabaoth's motive is driven purely out of malice and apathy.
@@MinhLe19303 u made a good point, I can see where u coming from. But I would still disagree, reason being that if you think about it. The gang literally defeated the false god which created by humanity’s common will to save the world, then certainly like ‘boom, Maruki came out and made everyone back to the beginning again’. We can all agree the main theme about the story was growing up in rebellion, and by that, at the end we could see that the society had finally wake up and answer their calling, which means that humanity as a whole has grown into a greater self. However, the third semester was like calling all of that never happened, and it really gave me a mix feeling about it. Also about Kasumi, I feel like she didn’t change much from beginning to end. Like, even at the end, she’s still hanging up her hair like her elder sister did, so it really doesn’t seem like she actually grows from her past like the rest of the phantom team. I guess you would make a good point if they actually show that she changes something at the end. Also her outfit is also another reason that’s bothering me, I think one of the best part of every individual in phantom team is the element to showcase their will to make farewell to their past, which translates to their very unique personality of rebellion, and they reflect to their outfits. Kasumi on the other hand, she only has a replica of joker’s outfit, which makes her rebellion and character really empty and unnecessary to me. Anyway, thanks for your commenting. English is not my first language so it is pretty hard to explain everything, so I really hope you can understand what I’m trying to say.
@@MinhLe19303 with that said, I do agree that Maruki is a great villain tho if not the best in P5R. It’s just that his arc feels kinda awkwardly located. If they didn’t make the false god such a great scale wise event, maybe Maruki’s arc would make a lot more sense.
Persona 5 for me was way too long and had way too much fluff in between gameplay. But what really made me dislike this game was the way it completely turns on its own themes. The game claims to be about "rebellion" and "changing the system" but I've never felt more chained by societal expectations when playing this game, especially when interacting with these conservative acting teenagers. I get that this game takes place in Japan which doesn't share the same progressive views as the west, but then maybe Persona 5 just shouldn't have existed in the first place? The concept should have been done by developers who actually believe in the cause rather than people who didn't feel like taking the themes past fighting these uninspired one dimensional villains. If it wasn't for the soundtrack I'd regret playing this game. If you want a game that actually embodies the themes this game claims to, play NEO: Twewy instead. But if you enjoyed this game, I'm happy either way 😊
Its not just Atlus, its actually Sega pushing the studios to create good content. LAD is a perfect example of it too on when studios push quality over sales, you get greatness. Persona 3 Reload was an absolute joy to play, and someone who didn't play the original the remake was better than what Square did with FF16 or FF7 so far. Though some is still a struggle, for example SMT just isn't there in terms of popularity, or direction. I know a lot of people like it but to me just feels boring, but I think I'll give it shot again after the next Ys game.
The message behind Persona 5 isn't "believe in conspiracy theories", it's "Don't turn a blind eye when something is obviously wrong". Kamoshida is not subtle about his abuse; the problem isn't that he was good at hiding it, the problem was that no one cared enough to stand up and stop him. The principal refused to stop him because his own heart was distorted by the recognition Kamoshida was bringing, and the parents were more or less in the same boat because they believed Kamoshida's horrible treatment was worth their kids getting scholarships. Then there's Shido, who is a textbook fascist- He may be scheming behind the scenes but it should be painfully obvious to anyone that he's a bad guy just from how he acts in public. He acts like a cartoon villain that bullies teenagers in public and the average person just turns a blind eye to it. And this is how actual fascists act- Shido is very unsubtly based on the late Shinzo Abe, and compare him to how any fascist acted throughout history and it's pretty much a 1:1 comparison.
@@JacobCruise That's just a given. That doesn't mean that there can't be poorly thought out interpretations, though. I could say that Persona 5 is an allegory for how the Three Stooges are Christ-like figures, but that's complete nonsense. Just because you can have any interpretation you want doesn't mean those interpretations can't be flawed.
Good video, but a small note: on 5:12, the negotiation mechanic isn't a completely new method of obtaining Personas, as it already appeared in Persona 1 and 2, albeit very differently than how it is in 5: Persona 5's demon negotiations are a lot more watered-down and straightforward than 1 and 2's (unlike Persona 5 which had only Joker be able to negotiate, in the early games each party member could contact a demon, and each one had different negotiation methods that the demons reacted to differently. In the 2 duology, you could even combine two or three characters to perform a unique negotiation technique). I really like how funny and interesting the negotiations in the older games can get, but sometimes it's a pain to guess what a demon wants to hear, so overall I believe Atlus made the right call in making them significantly shorter and easier in 5. Honestly, I think that had Persona 5 used the systems present in 1 or 2, it might've have made battles more tedious for the general audience, and the game would've had a harder time breaking into the mainstream like it did.
My only issue with Persona 5 is that it catapulted my expectations for the series moving forward and im 100% sure Persona 6 is not gonna meet my expectations at all lol.
I think P6 is probably not gonna surpass P5 for me but it's probably gonna be a better game overall, considering how the franchise has only been improving so far.
This is a great video, but my only note is as a developer who works for one of those "big companies" we don't put the minimum effort in and i really wish people would stop spreading that sentiment. There is definitely more style put into this game, but that's not because western games are lazy, but its because of different expectations. Just look back at the ps3 / 360 generation, we did a lot of this stuff then too. It's just sadly we are now doing / expected to do a minimalist style for menus etc... instead
For many years the Persona series prevented me from giving Final Fantasy a try. Now that I got my Persona fix, and Metaphor coming up, going to finally give Final Fantasy Vii remke a try. When i saw the Anime real like graphics i kept saying to myself, how long we gotta wait intil we get Persona 8 with Hyper Anime Graphics.
I hope that Persona wouldn't go into the "realistic anime" artistic approach. Persona games have always been known for their focus on distinct art styles and unique aesthetics, and I feel like making the characters look like real life anime would take away from the games' charm.
Persona 5 strikers tactica 5 phantom x and Q2 are all great games but it's time for Persona 6. I think P5 phantom x global release will be the last P5 game until P6 comes out. Thanks to all the P5 spin-offs and P3 reloads made by smaller teams, Atlus has had a lot of time to make P6, so P6 will probably be very good
Persona 5 Royal is my first ever Persona game. I’m 50 hours in and enjoying it but I do have some criticism. A big chunk of the game so far has been either cut scenes or just two characters having the longest dialogue in video game history and I’m just sitting there pressing the A button over and over and over again. Some conversations are interesting but others feel dragged out. Having said that, this is definitely a top game when it comes to JRPG genre.
it is a heavy narrative game. if thats not ur thing ive heard shin megami tensei is a lot more gameplay focused. I personally love the dialogue bc im a fan of anime
7:39 I love this game but that's not actually why they included this disclaimer in P5. A lot of Atlus's games actually have this disclaimer because their games frequently take place in modern day Tokyo, so they put that disclaimer there to legally cover their asses in case some wise guy claims that Atlus is slandering them and sues them for it.
I played this game back when I was younger and it was fun for the first 100 hours and then I found myself thinking the story was dragged out a bit too much, I hit the 170 hour mark and finished it and I didn't really feel good about it, I felt more of a relief that I finished it and some enjoyment but most of it was gone because of the sheer length of it. Trying it again, and yup have no idea how nowadays people with a job and school would justify the game's length. I think that's the weakest part of the game and I know people say take breaks and go slow but at the same time it's like you're dragging it out from being a straight week long game to half a year and that's just not fun especially if you have other games you want to play. I think it was fun when I had more free time but nowadays it's better to just remember the first playthrough. Too much random dialogue and just too much to do which now as I am older find really annoying as I prefer a game focuses on one thing rather than try to add every possible feature to a game. At that point the game because busy work rather than an innovating game, yeah there's some people that will die on a cross and say these features are amazing, more power to ya. I started with P5 and ended with P3 and I have to say P4golden was PEAK P3R coming second, perfect pace, amazing music, and perfect length. I want to add that I don't hate the game, some characters were better than others, the music is PEAK, and some dialogue was just funny and interesting, I just feel the story was dragged and yes IK it's a jrpg but the length in these games comes from the grinding exp for a fight or farming for items, heck even the game+, it shouldn't be purely from an overstayed story.'
Never into shin mega I tensei persona but once I played golden on ps vita I’m so addicted then played ps4 for persona 5 it’s amazing I wonder how they top 5 for next one

In Persona 5, the Jazz is a unique type of Jazz that you've never heard. There are a bunch of bangers that can barely be called Jazz

Persona(l) story about me getting into the series:
I went to the Japan in 2023 for my life-experience trip, one of my items that I bring from JP was Switch OLED.

Currently playing ng+ because I missed my chance to raise my relationship with maruki to get the true ending

Well, duh, it's the best piece of media and art ever created in the history of humanity, no wonder it got so successful
@@eduardonava257 this is another good point

Don't forget the main theme besides rebellion:
Justice
Good luck, and I look forward to your retrospective

Learned of Persona through smash, and I am sooo glad I did. Honestly my favorite parts about the game aren't even the story or the actual combat, it's the music, the day to day tasks, even shit like the menus is incredibly done. This is coming from someone whose favorite games are Mario games, games which practically live off of gameplay, so the fact I enjoyed a game with considerably less focus on gameplay shows how good persona 5 is at least to me
i don’t know how people can say that the gameplay isn’t anything special. P4 had the worst dungeons I’ve ever played
(just like you said)
Yes, this game is the most anime-graphics than any other anime games like naruto storm series and dragon ball series, oh and also has an over-the-top visual effect.

Thank you all for seeing my uber nerdness and very weird borderline obsession with atlus and SMT/Persona.

...WELL,IT actually REPRESENTING REAL STATE OF SOCIETY VERY ACCURATELY
...BUT STILL...LOTS OF PPL DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THAT
Persona 5 is easily one of the best game I’ve ever played.
But if you enjoyed this game, I'm happy either way 😊
whats wrong with p5 messages ?
The message behind persona 5 is however the player interprets it to be.
Persona 6 is gonna be better
I think P6 is probably not gonna surpass P5 for me but it's probably gonna be a better game overall, considering how the franchise has only been improving so far.
Persona 5 Royal is brilliant. I hope they release P6 soon (fingers crossed for a 2025 trailer)
2015 😔

How
This is a great video, but my only note is
as a developer who works for one of those "big companies" we don't put the minimum effort in and i really wish people would stop spreading that sentiment.
There is definitely more style put into this game, but that's not because western games are lazy, but its because of different expectations.
Just look back at the ps3 / 360 generation, we did a lot of this stuff then too.
It's just sadly we are now doing / expected to do a minimalist style for menus etc... instead
Every single game should have the love and care that this game had then there would not be so many bad games out there.
You'll have a blast with FF7R, haven't played rebirth but Remake is absolutely fantastic.
Persona 5 strikers tactica 5 phantom x and Q2 are all great games but it's time for Persona 6. I think P5 phantom x global release will be the last P5 game until P6 comes out. Thanks to all the P5 spin-offs and P3 reloads made by smaller teams, Atlus has had a lot of time to make P6, so P6 will probably be very good
Yep!
P6 and P4Rewind is all I'm praying for🙏
@@quan2386honestly persona 4 is still easily playable these days. I completed it last year and i still absolutely loved the game and the whole vibe.
@@quan2386You mean Persona 4 Remake?
A lot of Atlus's games actually have this disclaimer because their games frequently take place in modern day Tokyo, so they put that disclaimer there to legally cover their asses in case some wise guy claims that Atlus is slandering them and sues them for it.
obv
Great video
It's really great game
1:28, might have been just some sort of typo mistake on your end, but P4G came out in 2012, though the original PS2 version of P4 released in 2008.
Never into shin mega I tensei persona but once I played golden on ps vita I’m so addicted then played ps4 for persona 5 it’s amazing I wonder how they top 5 for next one
