not only is super mario galaxy the best mario game in my opinion, but one of the best games just in general. also it has byyy far one of the best soundtracks ever to be in a video game. maybe i have nostalgia bias because yes, i have so many good memories from first playing this with my friend(s) but yeah. just an incredible game that everyone should play imo
Super Mario Galaxy is where I believed 3D Mario games were at it's peak. It fixes many problems that 64 & Sunshine has, while also being more towards the linear style. With the Spin Attack, anti-gravity and other features working incredibly well. Combined with the QOL improvements of the gameplay, controls, level designs, structure, music and more. Even after playing the likes of Odyssey & 3D World, Galaxy 1 & 2 are still my absolute favorite 3D Mario game and my favorite platform Mario game in general. Also Rosalina is the best princess. Can't change my mind.
I know it's opinion based, but how are you giving the engine dome a 7/10? Toy Time galaxy is a banger, sea slide galaxy is a banger, gold leaf galaxy I agree drags it down a little bit but the things it adds on the original more than makes up for it in my opinion. And you didn't even mention my personal favourite galaxy in the entire game; bonefin galaxy. A terrifying and super fun bossfight that came out of nowhere, kinda like the ruined kingdom dragon of super mario odyssey. Also the octopus refight for the grand star is super cool, making the original a lot more challenging by having you be on the move all the time. I know you wanted to keep it short, but every aspect here is worth mentioning, as is in the other domes as well. I wish you had taken more time to talk about every galaxy or "stage" in the game, but oh well, still loved the video. The engine dome is 10/10
even without the nostalgia glasses on this game is great. Gets difficult when it comes to 100% completion but in casual play it's super fun
