I unsubscribe to alot of youtubers for being fake alot them get stuff for free and pretend they bought it or say they got a new haul video when they got stuff for free or they wait for one person to post something and right away copy the video just ignore the bs and focus on yourself stay positive

Well, here I go again, commenting on someone's channel and will likely have other channels commenting on what I've said. I've watched Midlevel Media for about 2-3 years now and I don't think Ken has ever hidden that several of the labels send him sets to review. I've also seen him give poor reviews on items that were sent to him, (usually on packaging or price) so the idea that Ken is "selling" or shilling for any of the labels is silly, IMO. I watch him because he's passionate about physical media and while I disagree sometimes with his reviews of films, that's his right to his own opinion. He doesn't offer his reviews as fact, he offers them as his opinion. And he enthusiastically covers lots of media, more than some of the other channels I watch. But one thing that I think does need to be addressed is the idea of you "drama-farming." I think it's a valid statement. People on TH-cam create videos (content) and they are either things like reactions, or praising physical media or sports or whatever. While they all have varying quality, I have no doubt that they are all doing the best they can to make the best product they can, because they hope to monetize their work and reap some reward for it. They also want people to like what they are putting on TH-cam. There is always ego involved, and that's a good thing. For some reason I don't understand, you apparently decided that your channel would be about critiquing other channels or channel operators. I don't understand why. Is the reason you decided to make your bones by critiquing others because you are a "little" channel and that's a way to get more attention? Because I am sure you didn't think you were qualified to be the arbiter of what is properly ethical on how a channel operator runs their channel. So, I'm curious. Hey, I critique people, but I do it on their channel following their video. I talk to people to their face, so to speak, rather than making posts on a channel about others. I post something, my opinion, based on the video the channel operator does and I'm generally looking for discussion with them. Sometimes, they respond to me. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they may be hurt, but the issue with text is that we don't hear vocal inflection, we don't see facial expression. We have only the text, which can be interpreted based upon whatever perception/preconceptions the reader may have. If there is no discussion, there is nothing more that can be said. I can promise you that I not here to attack you, but simply respond to what you have said in the video, and I bear you no ill will. I don't think you are a bad person; I agree you've made some questionable decisions, but everyone does. Just do the best you can, hurt no one if you are able and drive on. Just my two cents, of course.

That's too bad really. It seems to me more like they are gatekeeping because they're corporate shills and you're not towing the line. Don't apologize for your opinion. It's subjective and there's nothing wrong with having one against the narrative, especially when you're posting screenshots to back those opinions up. Keep doing what you're doing or fall in line to be accepted by the "popular" crowd. It's your channel and it's up to you.

I will be honest with you. You really remind me of myself a bit. I have done things that in my past that I thought nothing of when I did them, but then later, I regret what I did even if I didn't do anything really wrong. The anxiety that gets to me of just the perception that I may have upset someone is crippling. It's obvious you don't hold any ill will torwards Ken, and you had an observation of the situation with Demolition Man, which I can also agree on. At the same time, Ken is just a guy like any of us who gets excited about movies he likes, and it may come off as a overzealous sales pitch to some, but he just has his opinions like anyone else. You said yourself you would love it if lables sent you stuff. (Who wouldn't right!) If you had to do the video over, I'm sure you would have just left the names and faces of the channels out of it. You live, and you learn Brian. You are an authentic guy, and to me, you never came off as malicious. You are obviously a thoughtful individual. Otherwise, you wouldn't have posted your recent poll and done this video. In the words of Chase at AVA pop culture..."We (the subscribers of your channel) got you... Let's go do this!" 😉 Keep your head up, Brian!

Now I want to see the Anora video! 😂 Bro. You just have one life. Leave it out there. Don't hold back when the truth needs to be said. The Demolition Man vid was fine and quite frankly was needed in this space. Too many physical media bloggers right now doing the same sales pitch in every video. Not enough criticism of the actual product. Be that dude! You're a breath of fresh air!

You are my favorite physical media channel, by far. And I subscribe to A LOT of them. I think your major strengths are just being honest and the side-by-side video comparisons like you did with Twister and American Pie. Your videos about cleaning stickers and residue and about plastic protectors was also fanstastic. I also absolutely loved your boobie-scale raunchy comedy review video and I hope you make more like that. Please edit out the joke from the Anora video and re-release it or just completely re-film it. I really, really want to see what you think of the movie since I went to see it in the theater just because I saw you made a video about it (I went to see the movie first, but when I came back to watch your review, it was gone).

I'm a new collector as of this October - and I have fallen in love with your channel. I'm sorry you had to delete the Anora review. Your reaction to the ending of that film was very genuine and impactful enough to make me research and purchase the film for my collection. Maybe some silver lining. I do remember watching the vid Re: Movies w/ Color and thought at the time.. "Whoa, damn. OK." So good on you for recognizing that on your own and taking it down. On the thing with Ken, I'd probably cut that one too and hash it out with him in private. He seems like a cool dude, laid back.. public battles or accusatory back and forth in public probably not going to get you anywhere. At any rate, like the channel and the authenticity of it. Just no need to mix in controversy.

How quick the vultures come ...what you have done is set our stall that your going to be honest and authentic, the path of the lesser ego , don't concern yourself with the ego of others, you have made a sacrifice that will have a positive benefit for physical media lovers , by encouraging 'Paid Promotions' to be a lot more clearer, those who don't , are just dancing with the devil with their nickers round their ankles , don't change feel what you feel man.

Authenticity is what keeps me subscribed and watching your chan. ❤️ People make mistakes. You're an adult. You hold yourself responsible. If others don't want to take/accept your apology and talk, unfortunately you just have to move on. We can only control our own response and emotions, not others. You did your part by taking responsibility for your own actions... and I, as just some stranger watching your videos, find it refeshing when one does that. I watch channels with people that I resonate with, and I don't watch many. Yours came across my feed, and I just like your perspective and how you present. All the guys you mention in the Demolition Man video are fine, but I don't watch their channels because I don't really vibe with them. Yes, be kind to others and don't talk shit about them. That's always good conduct. But keep doing your thing. It's appreciated.

Egos got hurt like others said in the comments..Which I can get to a point..Don't sweat it. I'll be honest..a lot of those bigger channels I've been following for years and their content is repetitive and I could see through it that they're bullshitting us... I'm almost sick of hearing: "This is getting a 4K release and this is getting a 4K release" its almost an eye roll at this point that i dont tune into a lot of the new videos..Just keep doing your thing. This has become one of my favorite channels over the past year. If you feel this way then just stay focused on what you want to talk about when it comes to film. No mentioning of other channels unless it's all positive. Cheers 🍻

OK, yes I’m the comment hog today, but I gotta talk about some things you’re talking about in the video here, I get it we all wanna belong, but sometimes if people are going to censor how you are you gotta find the people that understand what you’re talking about, drama around channels could mean anything, I don’t know to be that sounds more like censorship and not a big fan of that, I would be careful with certain channels, getting involved with certain channels that have that kind of attitude of censorship. 5:06

Sorry for hogging up the comment section here, but, lol, I kind of wanted to give a honorable mention to the other channel that does physical media reports in his own way, maybe you’ve heard of him, James from in search of physical media, very professional, and very professor like in his Reports. He kind of reminds me of a high school teacher, but at the same time teaching me something that I’m actually interested in, great channel. He is always been at the forefront of physical media. I’ve been watching him since a little bit before Covid, great channel. Check it out if you guys can.

If someone let your video bother them that much it’s likely because they know it’s true and they’re insecure. I’ve watched that person and happen to agree they are unauthentic and why I do not watch it. However Love CHH so not talking about him. keep up the authenticity. Appreciate the content.

Another thing about Ken, he does awesome awesome with his news physical media report as as another channel that I watch but the other channel that I watch the guy is not in such good health, but he has a lot of energy and he’s very particular on how he does his physical media Report, don’t worry about Ken. He can be a little whiny, and unfortunately kind of feminine what I mean, what I mean by that is he can be very sensitive and misunderstanding about criticisms, it’s not your fault, many men who come from the millennial Jen seem to be that way And me coming from the tail end of Jan X, which is guys we joke around we make fun of each other, we insult each other no big deal. It’s the way we bond, but unfortunately, some people they’re just not fit for it. Jeff from films at home, X known as films at home is a pretty unconditional guy when it comes to taking comments and criticisms, and there are more of us out here. I know Ava pop culture seems pretty legit when it comes to being outspoken, but yeah, it’s all good man.

OK, I get it. You wanna hold yourself accountable for certain things, understandable. As long as you’re not wimping out on an issue that you truly stand and believe in, it’s all good. Just do not back down. If it’s something that you know is wrong, Like when you called out can on his black Lester 4K Blu-ray reviews, it’s true, can’t not that great at that, that’s not his thing. I think people, especially in the guy community, we need to be more supportive of each other, even when it comes to criticism, we need to stop being so conditional with each other, there are certain channels that call out others for putting 4K physical media on a bad misrepresentation, stating that it’s dead and yada yada yada. Just read these so-called articles that they really don’t have a credible source for. I just don’t want to see channels backing down when it comes to defending things we know we should be defending, we can’t please everyone, it’s not gonna happen so don’t feel guilty about being human it, our nature to make mistakes, we’re not always right, but don’t be ashamed of being wrong, sometimes being wrong can give us the right answer. Because of your Demolition Man video, which I thought was very good from your perspective regarding the 4K image, it's just a shame that it turned into a drama just because of a different opinion, but that's how it is on TH-cam if you don't go with the flow.

Calling people salesmen and following with "its okay guys I don't mean it as an insult" is so disingenuous. You are discrediting their entire channel, you are either full of bs when you say you don't get why people got upset and don't want to associate with you, or are literally on the spectrum

From what I've observed, I'd say that your criticism and authenticity is forcing other channels to be more critical and more honest when reviewing films on physical media. Your voice is therefore an important one in this digital ecosphere, and your Demolition Man video led to a discussion that was long overdue on this platform. Keep up the good work, and, to borrow a phrase from Pump Up the Volume, talk hard!

Calling out on the Judge Dredd reviews was needed and you even added proof with the comparison clips between the 3 formats. I have said certain things in the comment section that has rocked certain TH-camr's self being and they get my comments deleted because they aren't the most emotionally stable. You really need to pick your battles because there was TH-camr back about 6 years ago that did the same thing you did called out TH-camrs' Reviews and the fact that they get free review copies and that they seemed obligated to give a glowing review whether it was good or and Brass Tax mad a retort video on the opposing video and neither of those TH-camrs have are making new videos and haven't for many years. I'd say don't call out anyone and just continue doing these comparison videos like you did for Judge Dredd because I liked it because you let the videos run side by side instead of just showing a still shot.

MidLevelMedia is a salesman and that is without judgement. One of the reasons I will no longer watch his videos, just as I stopped watching "The Critical Stinker". It has nothing to do with your channel, it's a matter of personal reference. Last drop in the bucket for me was his review of "The Cell" in which he .... honestly .... said how great J.Lo's acting was and how great the story was laid out. ...... Excuse me! "The Cell" is nothing but pretty pictures. Fair enough, great visualls indeed. But there is neither a story nor good acting by J.Lo. And if I come across people who's mind is so detached from objectivity I'm out. Salute to you for coming clean.

Please keep the Demolition Man video. I needed that grounded perspective, despite still buying it lol. Some channels over-hype movies and create FoMo in us the audience, which is manipulative. We all have limited budgets and shouldn't be swayed to buy things we may not want/need. Being critical and honest is more important. Promoting most new 4Ks as "best ever, limited time, get it now so you won't regret it" is crappy imo.

I think MidLevel is pretty good at telling when he gets a copy for free. The criticism given for Ken seeming to always be a positive promoter on almost everything is fair. I thought the backlash for what you said was not equal to your criticisms. I didn’t see the vid where you supposedly went at Films by Color. I’m assuming it had something to do with the thirst trap thumbnails he uses. If that was the case I’m sure he knows what he’s doing. 😂

Honestly I’m glad you did delete the Anora video. I didn’t like the joke you made. I follow that other channel and they’re such a positive couple in this space that your joke caught me off guard. I didn’t call it out at the time because I just didn’t want to be up against any mob mentality and get hit with tons of comments defending it. You’re human though and we all make mistakes. I didn’t unsub to you for that reason. But I have to say, I am glad you deleted it. It shows that you’re willing to recognize what doesn’t work. There’s a lot of TH-camrs that don’t do that. As for drama farming, etc, I dunno. It’s just about how you go forward from here. If you don’t want to be seen as the guy that calls out other TH-camrs, just make that your goal. Make videos about the movies you love and the physical media you collect. My favorite videos of yours are the ones where you’re talking about the love that you have for a particular film. I don’t even like Terrifier 2 but the video you made about it being on VHS was fun because you were so enthusiastic about it. That kind of thing goes really far.
