I would love to donate blood but I can only donate blood for myself because I am anemic my blood doesn't hold iron the way it should and I've had cancer also so the only thing I'm allowed to donate is my own blood for myself like before surgery or something if I donate 3 pints of blood it's recommended

I LOVE your idea of only selfish knitting in December!! I was madly finishing up gift knitting--and I thought I started early!! I made 3 Musselburgh hats, but I had to redo one 3 times as it was too large. I still have one to rip out and redo as it also was too big. :( I loved seeing pictures from Sam's wedding--gorgeous!

It's nice you were gifted one, but $50 is a little steep. I got an Amazon knock off for less than half, and I doubt there is that much difference. I agree it helps tremendously with dark yarn! But I hope no one gets FOMO and thinks these are essential to knitting.

I am knitting my first Colorwork sweater. I am using your technique to separate from and back. Looking forward to a better fitting sweater!!

Happy New Year! Loved the shrug you were wearing -- and your crochet reminded me I have a crochet project I need to get back to.. I was delighted to learn you're a stitcher. I confess I've fallen down a fairly deep cross-stitch rabbit hole. Yes, I've done other embroidery -- including silk ribbon for crazy quilting -- but I keep coming back to cross-stitch. HOD is a favourite designer, but I too shy away from using dark fabrics. Have fun with your classes! 🙂

It's a fabulous past time! We have classic cars too and I love going to car shows, chatting to people and knitting all day. What's interesting about the advent socks is how differently people see it. You disliked it, I loved it. It was more fun for me to see So-and-so has (these) colors showing up, and (someone else) is in the (those colors). So much different! So much fun! Beautiful work on your socks.

Thank you for my lunchtime entertainment, which has run over into me making lemon bergamot marmalade. I made small apple tarts with a marzipan topping earlier, but they are rather delicate, so perhaps not the final version yet. Sx

Have you tried the knitted Kitchener stitch? Very Pink Knits has a great you tube tutorial for it.

Soooo good to see your first podcast of 2025, Nancy. I have also been a needle worker in the past, preferring embroidery to cross stitch. Now days it is just knitting. I'm hoping to not be tempted by new yarn or patterns & work from my yarn & pattern stash.

I am looking forward to a year full of socks...For the Finchley graft: I am no expert but when I did it for socks, you turn the sock inside out to work from that side, so how that works on something you can't turn back to RSO I am not sure! Will be interesting to hear what you decide/think on that. Love that Isabell Kraemer wrap/shrug , it's gorgeous..still sitting in my wishlist for "some day". The granny wrap turned out great: fun colors. And the cross stitch!!! That knitters sampler...I may need to convince my friend to make one for me (how much does she like me? 🤣). Stay warm!

I received the Blizzard pattern by Jessica McDonald and the wool for Christmas. I am almost finished the body. It's such a beautiful sweater! 😊

I haven't taken my Christmas decorations down either! The 5 grandsons come to visit at the end if the week for a few weeks so we'll do Christmas with them and tge gi sailing for 2 weeks until the end of January 😊
