The black British one he's showing at exactly 5 minutes, when I was a kid there was an air gun manufacturer that made something similar they called it the gat. These things suck as far as power goes but they were pretty fun to shoot with the little steel darts instead of the actual pellets

Man alive, the emotions you've just sparked in me....Just sat here with my wife having morning coffee and your video popped up. Regaled my girl with the tale of how in 1978 me and my mates would all play with 'gats', until one day we discovered the Hurricane and my little eyes were blinded by it's beauty...I worked every day on my paper round, Saturday and Sunday too, and every odd job I could for over a year before I gave my saved cash to my big bro David, I cannot even begin to explain the sheer joy and pride that filled this ten year old boy at not only owning this treasure, but having my dad teach me safety and allowing me to keep it ( after discovery ). He was Pettis of my commitment, my tenacity and the fact that I'd not been a tit with it. It was like I grew up in his eyes, and began the start of our more adult relationship... My apologies to you all if it's a nostalgic piece of fluff, its quite a special memory for me...

What a magnificent video! I was only just shooting my BSA 1921 Lincoln Jeffries Breakdown Giant No 2 / .22 Air Pistol, earlier this evening (and that is both powerful and quite accurate to 10 yards). That Westley Highest Possible is quite a pistol! But the Webley Mk I and subsequent models especially the Senior and Premier models are quite something else (very powerful and very accurate)! My favourites of all spring piston air pistols, being the quite modern HW45 air pistol. That is simply a work of art. Full power and amazing accuracy out to 30 yards plus (if using the .177 cal version). Thankyou for reminding me how brilliant spring powered air pistols actually are!

Anybody please: 31:55 what is this automatic setting valve he refers to? How does it work? And how do you call the valve of some SSP like the HW40? I believe it is a forced close valve, right? I'm assuming those two are different but since I don't know anything about the Automatic Setting Valve... Thanks!

Great video! One small correction : Paul Giffard did not invent the hot air balloon, Mongtolfier did in 1782 more than 50 years before Giffard was born, when France was still a monarchy. The Montgolfière (french for hot air balloon) was a symbol of french ingenuity. The confusion comes from the fact that Paul's older brother, Henri Giffard, was also an inventor and made the first ever flight of an dirigible by fitting a small steam engine on a hot air balloon. This Giffard commited suicide at age 50 when he found out he was going blind, and his brother kept working on all sorts of pneumatic projects including the giffard gun. The hot air balloon on the buttstock is a homage to french ingenuity and to his late brother.

Clearly is was more expensive than the rival BSA which is what killed it. Great shame as I hate under levers.

I admire the ingenuity of that conversion. I assume the threaded cartridges are for bike tire inflators - not easy to find around here, and a lot more expensive than the Crosman bulk ones. Pretty clever though.

Crosman partnerships with Sears & Montgomery Wards is an interesting one there third party partners received nicer stocks the most accurate barrels etc. I always try to find the partnership rifles for those reasons. I have owned or own several of the airguns you showed in this video. Looked like a great show!

I first became familiar with the Webley Pistols in the early 1980's while in my early 20's. I never owned one but had a friend that sold them so I shot them a lot back then. This was the second video I have watched of yours so I am a new sub really enjoying your content thanks 😊
