- An informative look at how to identify genuine pre-1950's/1960's pellet boxes using Ultraviolet light.
Thanks to john Griffiths for the info
This Technique should also work on any catalogue or document.
After 1965 all paper had this brightening ink in it, all except paper money!
Many modern printing inks are UV curable, which makes them dry instantly after being applied to the paper/card, and I would expect that these inks can be detected by viewing under the correct light.
Интересная информация и при этом крайне полезная. Спасибо. 🤔👍

Talking of vintage I have picked up a couple of air rifles from a boot sale. I was only after one but the man wanted to sell the lot 3 of them. One was a Webley Hawk mk3, the other one was a really old Daisy not sure what Daisy it is. The other one I can’t see no markings on it what so ever but it is not a full gun and has parts missing from it. It is pretty rusty all I know is it is a top loader and cocking mechanism is a underlevel. Would like to really find out what it is.
What I just said ain’t really a lot of information really.
How do the old pellets compare to modern ones (assuming you shoot them?) Do you notice any difference?
Good question, I don’t shoot them as it goes. I pellet test for best accuracy with each airgun so it doesn’t make sense to try vintage pellets as I couldn’t keep using them as they’d run out. I’m guessing they’d be less consistent then modern ones as the manufacturing tolerances wouldn’t be as good. Cheers
