    Good day, I've just discovered your channel after getting back into air gunning after many years, totally hooked..... expensive isn't it 🙈🤪 anyway, today my 'new' gun arrived, an Original model 10 (thinks it March 1977) it's absolutely beautiful but I can not find a picture of one like it, most seem the phosphorus finish and some are painted, mine has a black semi metallic effect on the main body/piston housing and a shiny blued finish on the side covers between the above part and the trigger. Please forgive my lack of knowledge regarding the correct names for these parts. It's immaculate so I'm wondering if it has been customised/ restored or did they do a special?? How can I get pics to you if you are interested in seeing it?
    Mick

      Hi Mick,
      welcome back into the lovely world of airguns.... Like you I only got back into it recently and I'm also totally hooked. So many different disciplines to get into, I first got into target shooting with HFT, then informal target shooting competitions with vintage air rifles & pistols. Once I realised Vintage Airguns can be very accurate the world of collecting opened up before me, and I never looked back!
      Your model 10 does sound like it's probably been refinished, I've never heard of one with a blued finish. Not sure what plastic the forend is made from, they often crack. If it's a hairline crack that doesn't go all the way through then maybe try a low viscosity penetrant Cyanoacrylate adhesive (runny superglue) or if the crack goes all the way through try an epoxy glue like Araldite.
      Some mod 10 stuff here if you haven't seen it already:

      @@dkjngl1 thanks for the reply, I just love the quirky engineering of this gun, I took it to the gun shop range today, the owner tried it and said it fires almost like a PCP.
      I'm feeling like it's made of polystyrene like the airfix models so I'm experimenting on CD cases, trying superglue, model polystyrene glue and epoxy, I can open it up slightly to get some in, I think it will be fine.
      I've got to make a new handle as I'm a lefty, not sure whether to mirror the original or make something more modern looking.
      I loved your air pistols through history series, can't wait for the next one.......just when I thought no more guns and you show a Crosman Co2 semi automatic and a Webley Premier, reminds me of the Hurricane as a teenager that I could never shoot properly as I'm left handed.

    Ah a double spring system so the recoil is balanced out the other way.I'm guessing made redundant by single pump pneumatic pistols in real target work.

    Hi, I’m just after a rough value if you don’t mind, I’ve been thinking of adding one of these to my air pistol collection for quite a while and I have come across a mint boxed one with all the paperwork and original pellets, would you have an idea of the price please ….. Thanks Mark

      Hi Mark, I think they usually go for £120-£150 depending on condition etc, maybe more with a nice box..,problem is wether the seals have been recently replaced as the originals are usually disintegrating by now, which can break the little teeth when fired. To replace the seals is a bit of a hassle or can cost a bit. I have a nice one needing new seals, I bought the spares but still haven’t got round to it! Great pistols though. Cheers, Matt

      @@dkjngl1 Hi Matt, thanks for taking the time to reply 👍 He wants £190 so pretty much on the money with the box instructions and original pellets,
      I have heard about this problem with the seals, The front piston seal/washer is still available but the rear one is discontinued, but that looks like a Delrin type washer just as a guide in the cylinder, it’s the right pistol as far as condition just got to get my head round whether it’s going to be problematic 🤪🤪🤪 thanks again Mark

      airgunspares (previously John knibbs) have them under ‘Rear Bumper Part No. 301059’ for mod 6. It cushions the rear piston when it hits the end cap + spacers at the back of the cylinder. If the seller knows it has been resealed then £190 is worth it. Cheers

    How to tune the power?

    • @dkjngl1
      @dkjngl1  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think it’s possible as you cannot easily increase spring power or piston weight. There were more powerful air rifles with a similar system by Park & Whiscombe.
