Gas consumption keeps me in rain mode lol

The button for the suspension you showed is not available on the s1000rr and m1000r models. There is a TCS adjustment button on these models. As far as I can see, we can only make manual suspension adjustments electronically on these models. However, on paper, this is called semi-active suspension. So how can we set these models to "auto" or "dynamic" or "road" like you did?

I have the same bike, do you have a center stand? Does it keep bouncing and hitting on worse roads making a lot of noise ? or is it just on my bike ?

Hello from Australia, I own a 2023 BMW S1000 xr, my Bike has 4000 km and dose the same stalling you have demonstrated on your bike.

Great video. I wish they had a 3rd mode for suspension. Dynamic is a little harsh on bumpy Nm roads and road is Cadillac soft. I’m on a 23 and love it.

I agree with you on the backlit buttons. I really can’t believe they didn’t add that.

Is it really true that when you put the suspension on min, that it lowers the back? Could you show that in video?

When you set the suspension to MIN to get on/off the bike. How much is the reduction? 10mm?

After watching videos on the S1000XR for 3 years then buying a 23’ with the M package and Brentuning it. The videos don’t really give you the pleasure and satisfaction you will receive riding this motorcycle!

Have a 23’ S1000XR Mpackage w/extended warranty and just Brentune 2+ and 1 year & 6k miles of ownership absolutely love the bike, the tuning was done at the dealership and the benefits are well worth it!

When you try to use clutch do you have that feeling on lever ghag ig catches something? Some kind of like broken clutch line? Mine it does this.

Video seems great, but cannot watch it really -- mono audio only in the right ear is quite unpleasant. Thanks though!

My one is not that smooth when downshifting… and it is kinda hard to find to match the rev gap as well when downshifting… and also from 1st to 2nd, it requires higher rev to engage otherwise it gets into N…

Thanks for posting. I have a 2023 S1000XR. No issues with stalling. This tuning / flashing sounds great, but like you, I don’t want any issues voiding my warranty. The power on this bike is just fine for me. My previous bikes included the S1000RR and the R1200RS.

Just bought a 2023 S1000XR M Sport "package". It's intoxicating, indeed!

I have a 2020 model xr. It gave a warning on the screen that abs pro is disabled. then i stopped and i couldn't start it .for a certain time it worked as if nothing had happened could this have something to do with the recall on the 2020 and 2023 models?

I have a 2016 S1000XR well out of warranty, I really don't go to BMW for service since they charge INSANE prices to do simple work. I do most everything myself. I just ordered the tune from Brentune, my bike is difficult to ride below 20 mph and I can really tell how damped the throttle is in the first few gears. I really just want it uncorked. Plus better fueling sounds great and can't hurt.

Picked up my 2023 s1000xr this afternoon and enjoyed every minute of the ride home.

Good explanation of adjustment for that bike. I just bought a new 2023 R1250GS and was startled while riding a very familiar stretch of downhill twisties on highway 1 in Northern California. The engine braking management very obviously kicked in on a sharp left-hander I always take at speed. (on my 2011 R1200GS). This had the unfortunate effect of accelerating the bike unexpectedly just as I was counting on engine braking, just before my intended acceleration out of the turn. The bike (unexpectedly) diminished its lean angle, straightened up and pointed me at the right side edge of the road. I was ready to brake, so no harm no foul, but the loss of direct engine braking control was in my view unnecessary and even dangerous in that circumstance. No one at the dealer service shop could tell me how to crank back the braking management software (without also disabling ABS) and I can’t find comparable settings to yours on the S1000. Thoughts? Ideas?

Good info, I also ride year round, but do use some heated gloves. I was wondering more about something unrelated, but you mentioned it. The fob battery, you get that sorted out? 2020 S1000XR here as well - also in ice grey. I have the same issue but just keep swapping batteries. Was gonna call Bobs BMW and see if they had anything on it.

I don’t think using the “it could void your warranty“ argument is valid. BMW will look for any excuse to not honor a warranty. If you over rev and the engine blows up, they’re going to blame you. So that argument just does not hold water with me. There are obviously some tuning flaws with the 2020+ XR that I experienced and I resolved with the Bren tune I’m very happy with the results. But they can’t just willy-nilly void your warranty because you had a tune down to it. I tuned my bike for drivability issues caused by BMWs and I’ll be damned if I’m going to accept them not owning up to it because something else goes wrong. You also forgot to mention that since you purchased the handheld you can always flash it back to stock so they will never know, and cannot use it as an excuse for the warranty. So you can either live with the screwed up tune that BMW put on the bike, or you can fix it the choice is yours…

Im riding a 21' XR and I plan on doing my own oil/ filter changes, air filter changes, chain maintenance, brake pads. Fork oil, brake fluid and valve checks will be dealer done. I am just not quite confident enough to tackle those jobs. My wallet wishes I were...Are you still riding your XR? If so, how many miles have you racked up to date? I just subscribed.

You can find out most of these things by test riding one. A superb bike in almost every respect. Anyone who buys ice-grey can't have seen the racing red version. Normal humans are not worthy of riding this bike.
