Thanks for sharing. California has some beautiful spots. Food looked good too! Great video! Looking forward to the next one. SUBBED! 😎
@@girlfinfishing thanks for watching! We’re always looking for good spots, do you have any favorites you’re willing to share? P.S. my hubby doesn’t want me to share our “best spots” so I get it if you need to keep some secrets 😉
This are looks really nice - love that Bradley visits. Bummer about having to take care of sites that are either littered or have not had the fire put out properly or had other mishaps inflicted by careless campers. But the flip side is you got to be there all summer -so that was nice! If you guys are there again next year we will try to come visit :). Great job on this video -it was very educational for us. See you guys soon in Q.
@@bobanddangsjourney you guys would love seeing Bradley in person! We are going to try to get some traveling in next summer so we probably won’t be camp hosting but we always spend some time on the rim. We would love to meet up with you there! Looking forward to seeing you in Q soon!
Absolutely perfect! We are aware of that area and have thought to stay there - thanks for confirming this is as good as it looks! We love Bridgeport area, and plan to spend more time up there on our next trip up to the eastern sierra. Thanks for this great comprehensive overview of the area - well done!
@@bobanddangsjourney we want to get back there and possibly head up to Tahoe too. If you have any tips on that area, we’d love to hear them!
Enjoyed your video. I haven’t been to the area but it looks like it has nice scenery & boondocking areas. Plus the food looked yummy. Thanks for sharing.
@@uncagedtravels6391 I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! Where do you like to go boondocking? We’re always looking for new places and would love any recommendations you can share 😊
This is so helpful, as well as all of your information videos. I like the garden solar lights around the possible tripping areas. AND the mouse deterrent device.
Thanks so much @wendysteward7877 !!! Pete is so proud of his DIY garden solar lights. In fact, he's ready to make a few more, maybe we'll do a video showing how he makes them (that's if I could convince him to get in front of the camera LOL). I really appreciate your kind words! Do you have any questions or specific topics you would like us to make videos for? We're all ears! Thanks again for watching and encouraging us!
Did they get rid of their propane? This exact address doesn't show propane anymore on their website.
Hi @chifylube ! Thanks for the question. I am not sure of the current status for that particular store. If you call the main number, the customer service staff can tell you if they currently have propane and the current price.
Two ideas: keep the music quiet enough so conversation can happen, or eliminate music since it can be like politics with all the opinions!
It's so nice to hear from you @anneroyal5149 😊 You know, I never thought about music being like politics in that way. You are right, soooo many opinions. Too funny!
Good luck with this Kim - we have no idea how to build a playlist everyone will be happy with. Maybe play Campfire sounds or something like that ? LOL. Soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy ? Great topic!
Oh my gosh @bobanddangsjourney !!! I never even heard of Guardians of the Galaxy so I searched for it and found this: Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix (Vol. 1 & Vol. 2) (Full Soundtrack) I think you may have solved my problem! I just started playing it and now Pete is whistling the songs LOL Thanks for the help! th-cam.com/video/Kt-tLuszKBA/w-d-xo.html
Great job on this video - good to get this in front of people. I seem to recall national parks have banned disposing of the small propane cylinders for a while now. Maybe just some. We have the refillable cylinders, but rarely use them. They have an odd o-ring and sleeve, and I have had a few fail on me. We have since converted our cooking stuff all over to RV quick connect and that works pretty well. I have a hose/regulator that I put on a 1lb cylinder if needed. A smaller 11 lb tank is on our wish list - some day. Thanks for the great info! See you guys soon in Q!
Now that you mention it, @bobanddangsjourney , I have some memories from years ago seeing piles of the 1 pound cylinders at some National Parks and Recreation areas. I think it was in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area that I saw an entire dumpster dedicated to recycling the cylinders and it was full. When I saw that I thought to myself, that's a great idea. When we set up our outside cooking equipment, we like to set it up under our shade structure away from the trailer. We like the feel of an "outside patio" and we like to keep splattering grease away from our rig so we don't use our RV quick connect for cooking equipment (did I ever mention I can be a messy cook? LOL) We do use our RV quick connect to run our propane fire pit and that works really well, especially when we're using it a lot and going through large amounts of propane. I highly recommend the 11 pound squatty tank, we are so happy with ours. Totally looking forward to seeing you guys in Quartzsite!!!
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Hi Kim, to solve the 'cook away from the rv' we have a regulator and quick connect that fits on our 20lb propane bottles so we can take it over to the table. But I really want to find a smaller bottle that is easier to lug around - one like you have. I think the same regulator/quick connect would work with that too - has the same fitting as the 20lb bottles right ?
Bob and Dang, yes, same fitting as the 20 pound bottles. I linked to our 11 pound squatty and a smaller one in my Amazon store. They both work with that standard BBQ tank connection.
I did buy your salsa maker, but I accidentally didn't buy it from your store. After thinking about it, I just purchased (I Think) some Jeep parts from your store. So if you see some random Jeep/Camping gear in your Amazon store and can't figure it out, it is because I didn't buy the salsa maker from you. 11/7/2024 so if everything worked correctly, you should see it in your report tomorrow.
Thanks @azxp , I hope you're happy with your salsa maker and jeep/camping gear!
@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna I appreciate your video and have made great salsa multiple times already. I appreciate your tips and the time you give us to suggest great camping foods.
@@azxp thanks! You continue to encourage me and I really appreciate that!
The Shuffle option on a playlist is a great way to get things randomly played. so you don't hear the same order each evening. BUT I have a different story. In the early 70's my parents divorced. I had to live with dad. To get back into the dating world and being an older man with children, he went back to his roots and went to a Square dance club class. It lasted from Sept-Feb. But you had to bring a partner so everyone could dance. Dad asked me to go with him. I'm 15 at the time. I HATED the idea of dancing with "old folks" (35yo), liked dancing but not with the old guys. I HATED country music. We made a deal that on the trip there and back home I got to listen to my Rock & Roll on the radio. Funny thing is. . .at Graduation night of the Square Dance class this group of teenagers came in. Turns out there were Teen Square Dance clubs that I didn't know about. They would come to the different graduations and scoop up the young folks and introduce them to the younger clubs. I loved dancing with like aged kids, we created square dances to modern music, had great parties and got to wear mini skirt square dance dresses. I tell this story to show a compromise. Have the Rap or other questionable music played at specific times like on the road. Have a playlist that is for After Dark, a different one for Morning or Afternoon times. Balance it out. Good luck.
This is a GREAT STORY @mjgobet5601 , thanks for sharing! It is so cool that you ended up loving square dancing after finding the right group of people who adapted a traditional form of dance to modern music! I really love your idea of having different playlists for different times of day. Music really sets a tone and my smooth jazz doesn't work when my fellow campers are in more of a party mood. And, their party music gives me a headache when I'm trying to enjoy my morning coffee LOL I'm going to create several different playlists now, thanks for your suggestions!
I mostly do dispersed camping mostly, because it is hard to get a spot nowadays, and I am not sure what I am doing in a year, so it is nice to hear that you guys are first come first serve no reservations. This video is great and we need more of them for education. You probably know better than I do, but I think some of the issues are lack of knowledge or just not really understanding the right way to do something. I mean I get that some people just don't care about the rules, but that is why I think videos like this are necessary. I will be curious to see if anything gets better next year. I really think you should do another video like this every year that you camp host. I think it is important for people to see that their garbage doesn't magically disappear, or their fires don't magically go away. The fire thing is so dangerous, think about the surrounding areas that allow dispersed camping and there are no camp hosts. The only thing missing was the fee to stay at your campsite?
Yikes @azxp , I totally forgot to mention this is a FREE camping area. You don't have to get a permit or anything, it is totally free. I'm going to do another video on the whole recreation area and show which campsites have a fee and which don't. I agree that a lot of issues are because people don't have the proper knowledge. We did run across a few people that actually did have the knowledge but just didn't care and decided they could do whatever they wanted to do. It's annoying when those people do things that are dangerous, especially if they put other campers in danger. Thankfully most of the people we met were respectful of the forest, rules and other campers. Thanks for watching and for giving me more ideas for future videos!
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna yeah there are a lot of areas close to me that we like to play, but now there are fees and permits necessary to go there, and it is a drag. Now we have to go three times as far to play at free spots because people have left the place in shambles. I am hoping not only do we do better, but we also teach our kids to do better.
@@azxp yes, hopefully we can all do better. Last summer we went to Alabama Hills (near Lone Pine, CA) and we were hoping to find a free spot to boondock for a few nights. Unfortunately, people were leaving the place such a mess, the authorities almost shut the place down. Now there are only a few designated sites for camping and they are super small so you can only fit a tent or small van or tiny trailer. We had to stay at an RV park nearby which was really nice but it wasn't the experience we were hoping for. Our motto is to leave a place cleaner than we found it, we're hoping to spread the word so other people do the same.
This is a tough ask, because personally, I am a Swifty myself. The issue is for you is you have a really wide variety of music likes. So for a suggestion, I think everybody mostly likes 70s soft rock as a background music noise, but even that may irritate someone nowadays. Music since it is all digital now, has become very personal. Here is a story hope its not too long, but my wife and I used to race streetbikes, and we used to rent a race track in New Mexico with a few other people, one of the guys had each of us pick 2 or 3 songs and he put them all together on a playlist and that is what we listened to mostly. It was a strange playlist for sure, but honestly the music couldn't have been more diverse and everybody was happy in our situation. Now when I camp, I have the same speaker as you, and I usually play older 80s music or 70s classic rock softly in the background and if anybody complains, I just turn it off. It isn't always my first choice of music, but I find that generally for my friends anyway it works for us. I also have some old 90s country I slip in here and there, but mostly the upbeat stuff. I hope that gives you some ideas. P.S. I understand a about the cat helping with the laundry, although our cat would rather kill it than lay in it haha.
On my gosh, @azxp you have me rolling on the floor! 🤣😻 Your cat would rather kill your laundry than lay in it! I love your New Mexico race track story! And, you are SO RIGHT about music being so personal now that it's digital. I can tell when somebody uses my phone to control our JBL speaker because my Pandora thumbprint station becomes something other than "my favorites" LOL I'm going to try to do the 2-3 song thing and create a playlist. Thanks for the idea!
The fire pit thing can get dangerous. Not sure how it started but there was a wildfire around Prescott, AZ that claimed the lives of 19 out of 20 Granite Mountain Hotshots. Watch the movie, "Only the Brave". It really made more aware of the importance of outdoor fire safety.
Yes @oldsoundman1. One of the things that makes me nervous is camping in an area with 1 way in/1 way out and reckless campers who don't practice fire safety. We have visited the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, that was such a tragic event. I wish people took fire safety more seriously. All we can do is try to spread the word. Do you camp a lot in Arizona?
Everything except following the narrative is banned in California. The Woke like it that way.
Personally, I am a beliver in free thought and think having honest discussions is a critical part of healthy communities. I have friends who follow narratives on all sides. I have to shake my head at some of them, but I can love them without agreeing with them.
I started using the Mr Heater Fuel Keg. It's so much more convenient to refill from a larger tank then have to go buy and store the expensive disposable tanks. I used to refill the disposable tanks but the Fuel Keg makes it a lot easier. I don't like the adapter hoses. Most of the equipment make for the small tanks is meant to be portable and having a 20lb tank attached is annoying. It tanks all of 30 seconds to refill a Fuel keg.
That makes sense. We are full-time RVers during the summer season so we wanted a much larger capacity of fuel compared to when we just camped on the weekends. The Fuel Keg sounds like a great solution, we'll have to try one during the winter when we do short trips. Thanks for the tip!
I have an adapter for 20 lb refillable tank anyway for my propane cooktop in case of.
We started using one a few years ago because we were tired of running out of gas and having to change the small ones. Now, we love the convience of our 11 pound squatty and our 20 pound tanks.
There are hundreds of videos showing how to refill one pound camping propane cylinders. What a useless law.
Great point. Most disposable cylinders are used more than one time.
There are hundreds of videos on how to change your own oil.. guess what percentage of people do?
@@robertjohnston8531 Since I posted my comment I found out why this is being banned. These one time use cylinders are not made to withstand constant refilling. Secondly unless you really know what you're doing there's a chance you could overfill it and it could explode.
And yet another reason CA is a disaster.
Isn’t it sad that such a beautiful state has so many problems. 😕
I guess I'll have to move after my supply of propane containers are gone. I'll be stocking up for the next three years. If they mess with my IsoPro cannisters also, I'll have to find a smuggler.
@@5stardave Do you currently live in California?
@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Walnut Creek and sometimes Rohnert Park.
@ I’m not familiar with those areas. Is there any good boondocking locations there? We’ve got a 34 foot fifth wheel trailer.
California is also trying to make former Californians pay taxes for 10 years after moving out of California to persuade people from moving out of California. I wouldn't worry to much about it when it comes to California, they want to ban everything that is not electric powered, one day they will ban gas in any shape or form, and charge people for driving into California with a gas powered car.
Are you serious?!?! I hope they never pass that law. Apparently the lawmakers believe in the vinegar theory rather than the honey theory 🙄 I’m sure glad I never lived there. It would be horrible to have a tax burden for 10 years after moving out. Crazy!
I've got the A - DAPTER KIT ... 20lbs propane tank. Those little tanks are too dinky !! and wasteful
@@speedfreak8200 YESSSSSSS!!! The adapter was a total game changer for us. I’m so glad we quit using the 1 pounders. On shorter trips we use our 11 pound squatty but we use our 20 pound tank on longer trips. We never run out of gas now 😁
Good video; thank you for the information. I have no plans to ever go to CA again and this is only reason #50. As far as the rest of the states doing the same, that would be Hawaii, Illinois, and the northeast. Traditionally, most states don’t follow the stupidity of CA’s government.
@@OdysseyCamper I totally hear you! We have camped in California a few times but we don’t go often. The last time we were there we met some locals who were beyond frustrated with the stupidity of the politicians and their laws. The only reason they won’t move out of state is because of their love of the outdoors and the natural beauty that is so abundant there. The good news is there are so many other places/states to visit, we’ll never run out of fantastic places to explore! Thanks for the kind words and watching!
WA and OR aren't far behind CA on lunacy.
@@billmM3605doesn’t it feel like we’re living in a twilight zone? 😢
@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Yes it does. I was born in CA and lived there for 33 years. Things I grew up with and took for granted are just good memories now. CA is a shell of what it once was. I left in 1993 and haven't looked back. Very sad what it has become.
@@billmM3605 where did you move to?
20# cylinders have gone down to 15# cylinders in my area and the price is higher!
I have not seen that yet. What area are you in?
@ North Carolina- Charlotte area
@ thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for them in my area.
I've been refilling my disposable 1 lb cylinders for years from a 20 lb tank. Brings the cost down to around 50 cents a refill.
Supposedly there is a limit as to how many times they should be refilled. I have the "Ace in the Hole" but I've never used it. Good fit for some, but not for me.... peace ☮️
We used to do that but transitioned to using larger tanks with adapters because we were running out of fuel using the smaller tanks on our longer trips. I hated running out of gas in the middle of cooking 🤪 It was a huge bonus to have it be so much cheaper too!
I’m embarrassed to ask but what is “Ace in the Hole”?
More senseless bullshit from the tyrants in the Ca. government. The state has MASSIVE problems and they pass inane laws like this. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕 So glad we fled that state 3 1/2 years ago.
I couldn’t agree more that California has massive problems that need serious fixing. We know many people who still live there because of the natural beauty and camping opportunities. If it wasn’t for that, they would be living somewhere else. Where did you move to?
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Free America, Idaho.
Awesome! We are planning a trip there and our route will take us through Sun Valley, Stanley and Coeur d’Alene on our way to Glacier National Park. We plan on being in your state for an entire month. Do you have any recommendations for cool boondocking spots that can handle a 34 foot fifth wheel trailer?
First I refill mine, second how many of there have ever been”exploded while being disposed of. Commieforna needs to fix its homeless drug problem that’s a much more dangerous issue.
We used to refill ours too but since we transitioned over to using larger tanks and an adapter, we hardly use our 1 pounders anymore. We live in Arizona but for many years, my husband had to be in California for his job. He watched the homeless and drug problems deteriorate every area he visited and said it is so sad that is happening in one of the most beautiful states in the country. Do you live there?
Now that California has fixed the environmental issue, can they start working on healthcare? For the most part, like you, I don't use the one pound bottles. I do have three camping items that can only use a 1lb because it has a burner that screws on and uses the bottle as the stand. If I don't have the bottle, then it just flops over. One is a little round gas bbq that I really don't use anymore really and I can probably proudly dispose of that, but one is my discada and another one is a tripod water heater. I can use the refillable ones, but holy moly they are expensive. I am hoping that with this new law, that there will be more competition and bring the prices way down. Last time I checked, it was 40 dollars for one empty reusable 1lb bottle. I have about 15 bottles that I just reuse anyway haha. For the things that don't need the one pound bottle I use a tree on a 20 pounder anyway. Great info as usual.
@@azxp all great points! I do believe the price will come down on the refillable bottles. The other good thing is there is time to transition to new equipment before the law takes effect. As always, thanks for watching and the kind words!
@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna My discada is homemade, and I am pretty proud of it. I probably won't replace that, but I don't use it all that often, but it is always a celebration when I do. I am always happy to support your local awesome channel with my wisdom lol. Happy Halloween 🎃
@ I LOVE homemade camping gear! I totally get what you mean when you say it’s a celebration to use it! Thanks for sharing your awesome wisdom and Happy Halloween to you too 🎃
A very welcomed change. The disposable 1lb cans are terrible for the environment.
Yes @j.a.1785 and it is so easy to use the alternatives! It's a win win!
Thats bs. One volcanic eruption puts more BS into the air then all of human history combined. get real man.

All the problems in the country and you're worried about negligible problems. No wonder our country is screwed
@@Dojo-v6m isn't it sad how many problems our country has now? I wish we could turn back the clock about 50 years and try again. I pray for our nation daily.

@Carolinahoneybees me too! Max is such a ham but Izzy is camera shy. 🤣
You guys are funny "Go through congress!" Those are great gifts for camping and a lot I need to put on my list myself. I do have a camping flag it says Yamaha and I fly it when we go quad camping. I think the best camping gift I have ever received was an inflatable paddle board from the wife. I use it for the same reason your husband uses his kayak, paddle around and fish.
Oh my gosh, what’s with you guys fishing instead of paddling? 🤣 I just watched your Mittry Lake video and saw you fishing from your paddle board! It’s nice that you have an electric air pump to inflate your board so quickly. Your wife gave you an awesome gift!
@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Ha, thanks. Yeah, the inflater is awesome. It isn't super fast, but I can breathe when it's pumped up. lol, I am still trying to learn to stand on it. Did you notice my fall?
@@azxp yes, I noticed your fall and I was hoping your camera survived! It looks like it did, good thing it is waterproof.
Those are some fantastic looking dishes Kim - we have noted several of them. We love cooking with a dutch oven but don't do it as often when boondocking but we should. Do you have a way to clean these without using too much water? We keep a little chunk of stainless chain mail and just scrub with that and flush with water - no soap. Would love to see your technique one day as you clearly are a pro with cast iron. Thanks for doing these they are always so helpful! Hope to see you at the Quartzsite rally again this year!
@@bobanddangsjourney we are chain mail users too. I try to wipe the majority of food out with a paper towel first so I use minimal water to flush. Thanks for the video idea! I’m putting that on my list. We’re looking forward to Quartzite and can’t wait to catch up with you guys 😊
We tried everything, they come into our rv just to be warmer. I sealed up every hole I can see.
@@tmc9525 it’s so hard to get rid of them once they are inside. Are you living in your RV or do you have it in storage?
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna it is in our driveway when not in use
@@tmc9525 I know the blinking lights on the ultrasonic repellent devices we use can be annoying but they really seem to work for us. We had 6 under our trailer this summer plus the motion activated one. I believe those were the strongest defense we had to prevent them. I’m so mad at myself that we didn’t put them under our car and truck at the beginning of the season. That’s a lesson I won’t have to learn twice 😕
I have a decked drawer system in the back of my truck under a hard tonneau cover and the mice got into all of that and made nests out of the dryer sheets. Steel wool does rust, use copper mesh.
@@zedwpd isn’t it amazing how destructive those little critters are?!? Thanks for the tip on copper mesh! How did you end up getting rid of them from the back of your truck?
Bacon wrapped grilled cheese! What?! Just in time for autumn. I can see you really like what you are doing, and it shines through in your videos.
@@azxp my husband almost fell over when I made him bacon wrapped grilled cheese 🤣 He was in a good mood the rest of the week! Thank you for your kind words and encouragement!
yes let's keep mice OUTside. Where are you camping?
@@patriciabeckeryoga Yes!!! OUTside is good 😊 We are in northern Arizona. It’s a beautiful place.
I sprinkled peppermint oil all around our engine. We also sprayed mean green all over outside.
@@rene-ro6oe I have not heard of mean green. I’m going to check it out. Thanks!!!
We are more weekend warriors, so not to say we wouldn't, but we hadn't run into that yet. Honestly, I have never even thought about mice. I have been careless after watching your video, I am at least going to invest into some plastic storage bins and try and do better. Great information.
I get that @azxp ! When we were weekend warriors we never had a problem. We saw mice around our campsite but never actually had them get into our RV. It wasn't until Pete retired and we started doing much longer trips before we experienced our first in-house mouse ... eeeks! Plastic storage bins help a ton. Make sure you get the kind that have a good sealing lid. If the top isn't secure with the bottom, they can work their way inside.
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Thanks for the tip. And also thanks for reminding us of things that we might not have thought of. They are all great ideas.
Great tips guys! We hate mice in the rig too - got a few on our recent Alaska trip but they vacated very quickly. You have done a great job at comprehensively showing options. Very well done!
Thanks @bobanddangsjourney , you always have the kindest compliments! I'm not surprised you got a few mice on your Alaska trip. How did you get them to vacate quickly? It took us a while to get the critters out of the trunk of our car ... ugh. I'm so glad we didn't have any in the trailer. I could kick myself for not following our own rules for the car and truck.
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna I think the first one just didn't want to be there - kept popping out from under the couch while we were chatting with @GoldenAnniversaryAdventure - it was really funny. Tried to sweep him out the door but I was too slow. He hid under the counter - basically where the heater/water heater are on our trailer - but he was pretty much gone the next day - never had any more issues - that was Dawson Creek. Then later , actually down at Grand Teton (now that I think of it, none of these mice were in Alaska!) we saw some telltale signs of one - got into a drawer and ate a parmesan cheese packet left form some pizza (we usually don't keep food around like that). So I set on of those catch-and-release traps - Tin-Cat or something like that - with peanut butter in it - and low and behold we heard him scratching in there the next day. Drove a few miles away and dropped him off at a new home not near any campers :). We probably got lucky, we need to deploy more deterrents like you suggest.
@@bobanddangsjourney that's funny! When we have mice they never want to leave, I think they like taunting our cats! 🤣
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna I know I can't believe they stole their food!
@@bobanddangsjourney right!?!? They were like 🙀🙀
Nice solution - we like to run most of the propane stuff off the propane bib on the RV, same general idea - if we are too far away from the RV we use the 20lb tanks when possible. What's nice about your solution is that you can use the standard fittings. We have updated all of our propane stuff to use quick-connects, and that was a bit more effort. (and I'll mention it is not possible to do that for some things that have proprietary regulators). You solution should work for just about anything. Note also for instance in California I think it is (or will be soon) illegal to sell the 1lb tanks anymore - you have to get the refillable ones and they are a lot more pricey. Great video guys!. Side question - our coleman grill/stove combo unit has finally bit the dust after like 30 years... Looking for a grill only now I think. Do you have recommendations? A comparison/bake-off video would be super cool :) Take care and see you in AZ this winter!
Oh wow @bobanddangsjourney , I had no idea California was even thinking about making it illegal to sell the 1lb tanks. I'm sorry your Coleman grill/stove combo bit the dust but after 30 years it sounds like you made out pretty well. This summer we bought the Weber grill you saw in this video (to replace our old Coleman grill that started falling apart). We LOVE the Weber. The grate is heavy and sturdy, we can cook 2 full racks of ribs on it and the igniter works like a charm (for now). I love your comparison/bake-off idea for a video, I'm putting that on my to-do list right now! We're really looking forward to catching up in AZ this winter, take care until then and see you soon!

@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna thank you so much for your attention and it's a pleasure to be here on your channel 😀 so I think there is 👍
Another great informative video. I wasn't aware of that splitter. I use a propane tank tree. It has two fittings plus one on top. The one on top I believe is for a lantern, but I use it for my Buddy Heater in my roof top tent. It has provisions for 3, so you could use your stove too. Well that is if you need it for 3 things. If you only need two, I would definitely go with yours. Yours is a lot less bulky. I didn't mean to hijack your video, I just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware and that was something you might be interested in.

@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna And I yours.
Right now 1 pound bottles cost $5. I filled my 10 pound bottle for $10. Quite a savings.
@@tommartin4881 yes!!! It’s so much cheaper to use larger tanks 😊 Do you have any other money saving tips to make your camping experiences more affordable?
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Here's a cheap hot meal that could even be used hiking. A pouch of Ramen noodles, a pouch of jerky and a single serve of mixed veggies, all from a dollar store. Break up the noodle while still in the pouch. Put the noodles and spice mix into a bowl. Empty the jerky packet in next. Add the contents of the veggie cup. Next, cover all with boiling hot water. Allow to steep and soften the noodles and jerky for a few minutes. You can also microwave, starting with cold water, for 4 minutes. Once the noodles are soft, enjoy!

If you're not using it for heat, how much damn cooking do you do they generally last an hour and a half to two and a half hours depending on whether you set them on high or don't
@@notcherbane3218 thanks for the question! We live in our RV for the entire summer so we are cooking every day for 4 months. For example, yesterday we cooked for 6 people. We made bacon and sausage on the Blackstone for breakfast and eggs on the camp stove. For dinner we made Greek chicken pitas for dinner and grilled the chicken on our Weber grill and toasted the pita bread on the Blackstone. We almost never go to restaurants because they are so dang expensive, and I absolutely LOVE cooking so I guess you can say I do a lot of damn cooking 😉
i sold both of these grills for my job. they both give the same bang for their bang for their buck but weber had the more reliable warranty program. you can buy a weber propane conversion kit for both (takes you from those tiny tanks to the big ones). the griddle is more diverse but won’t get you the same char flavor. personally i would go with the griddle. if i want the campfire flavor, i’ll cook it over open coals or an open flame. the weber grill is not a bad investment and is perfectly fine, but the griddles are easier maintenance with more versatility. if you are going full size, i recommend getting a standard grill (like a weber) and getting a griddle insert. you can either buy a small 10x12 plate you set on top of the grates or a large griddle insert that you replace the grates with. in all honesty both weber and blackstone are good. especially with black stones new updates. go with your preference, they’re both good brands. any problems i recommend contacting the manufacturer directly. both are alright on that front. as far as assembly goes weber has user friendly instructions and griddles have less pieces to assemble. i never pit weber against blackstoe while i was selling them. it always came down to personal preference, and griddles/small grills serve different needs. black stones do have versions with some nice built in stands. the scissor leg collapses nicely. the weber can come in an electric version (small colored webers are gas, small grey webers are electric) you may be able to negotiate the cost of assembly and price if you go to a local dealer.
Thanks for sharing your expertise @notreal-duh , you have some great insights. I agree that both pieces of equipment serve different purposes and that's why I love them both. There is nothing better than bacon on a Blackstone 😉
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna oooh do the bacon first so you can spread that grease to the pancake and eggs lol

Here is a tip. All your pop up graphics are distracting and I can't see whats being made, nor read the words because they are jumping all over the screen! It really ruins this film. It looks more like a 10 second info-mercial, that just keeps drolling on! You seem to have good ideas, and recipes, but you should not edit so much of the video. Its to much!
@@chrissewell1608 I am so appreciative of your suggestions, thank you! I will definitely try this. One reason I edit this way is to make the video a little shorter. I’m curious to know, is there a specific length of video you like best? Is 20-30 minutes too long?
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Kim, the time duration was fine for the context of the video. It was just all the over layed graphics, that continusly got the way of the film. It was just to busy for my taste. But you do you. Its your channel... I am just a viewer (and film editor!)

A bladder has been on our list for a while, it sure would be nice when we are staying in one location for a while. This was a great video and explained the process well. We don't drink water out of the tanks either, - ever.... It might be clean enough going in, but once its been there for a while who knows what rate the bacteria is growing at... Thats a nice setup you have with the pump in siphon mode. We don't have that with our imagine so would need an external pump (I keep a spare anyhow!). Thanks for doing this - guys. Look forward to seeing you in Az this winter.
Thanks Bob & Dang! We actually have used an external pump with our old barrel tank and it worked well. It was a lot slower than the onboard pump we have with our current Reflection.
