Love all the ideas sometimes we get stuck in a rut and make the same thing over and over camping. You inspired me to try new things. I usually make pizza in my dutch oven with the premade pizza crust like boboli. I usually save it for the last night as it uses ingredients that don't spoil easily like cheese, pizza sauce in a jar, peperoni, bell peppers (frozen), etc..
I love your pizza idea @tinas4946 !!! I try to make my arrival and departure day meals as easy as possible, especially if we have long drive times. Do you have any favorite quick breakfast ideas? I'd love to hear them!
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna I like your videos. You guys camp just like us. For breakfast, I love making the Green Chile egg casserole in the Dutch oven (favorite from the 70s recipe). When we are feeding a crowd, we love doing the omelets in the freezer Ziplock baggies. Yep, not safe with chemicals but they make the best omelets, and everyone is fed at the same time. We boil the Ziplock bags in a big pot. I usually make all the add-in the night before like bacon, sausage, cooked veggies, etc...
@@tinas4946 those sound like amazing breakfast meals! My family has a ton of 70s recipes we can't stop making. I'm so happy you like our videos! If you have any suggestions to help us improve, we are all ears! I'm putting together a list of the videos we will be making over the winter. If you have any ideas, please let me know. One thing I'm thinking about is a video on how to stay warm and keep equipment from freezing when temperatures drop down. And, explain what not to do to keep water hoses from freezing (we learned the hard way last winter🤣)
I really like how organized your suggestions are. I like that you have pre-vacation ideas and easy on vacation tips and recipes. I like that all of the extra info that I need to follow your recipes can be found in the video description. I make some awesome pico de gallo from watching your channel. Great cooking ideas. I am always looking for great clever camp cooking ideas that are fun and easy. Thanks for sharing these awesome ideas. I don't have a dutch oven myself, but I do pre-make some Mongolian Beef sometimes to heat up at camp on a discada.
Hi @azxp ! I love the idea of reheating Mongolian Beef at camp! I haven’t made that in a long time, I need to make it again soon! Thank you so much for your kind comments and for watching my videos! If you have any questions or suggestions to make my channel better, I would really appreciate them! Happy camping!!!
Great video, Kim Hanna's Camping For Foodies. Looking forward to your next upload! I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your tips on using a Dutch oven for camping meals are so helpful. Have you experimented with any gourmet twists on these recipes, like adding unique spices or local ingredients?
Thanks for the kind words @KeyserTheRedBeard 😊I do have a variety of recipes from super-easy to almost- gourmet. I love changing things up by adding different spices and local ingredients. In fact, we're camping now in an area that is relatively close to New Mexico. We just stopped at a roadside stand and bought a huge bag of freshly roasted Hatch green chile peppers. I can't wait to use them this week. What's your favorite way to jazz up recipes? I'm always looking for new ideas!
@@chrissewell1608 thanks for sharing! One way to avoid a layer of food residue in your Dutch oven is to use foil or parchment paper liners. I’m always up for easy cleanup 😁
Here is a tip. All your pop up graphics are distracting and I can't see whats being made, nor read the words because they are jumping all over the screen! It really ruins this film. It looks more like a 10 second info-mercial, that just keeps drolling on! You seem to have good ideas, and recipes, but you should not edit so much of the video. Its to much!
@@chrissewell1608 I am so appreciative of your suggestions, thank you! I will definitely try this. One reason I edit this way is to make the video a little shorter. I’m curious to know, is there a specific length of video you like best? Is 20-30 minutes too long?
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Kim, the time duration was fine for the context of the video. It was just all the over layed graphics, that continusly got the way of the film. It was just to busy for my taste. But you do you. Its your channel... I am just a viewer (and film editor!)
@@chrissewell1608thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! I am always open to constructive criticism and actually welcome it. I am always looking to make improvements and I can’t do that without knowing what needs improvement. Again, THANK YOU for taking the time to help me make better videos 😊

I hate those dump cakes. There is always a layer of cake powder left inside.
