Thanks for taking us on a tour of your campsite. I found some great ideas. I love the solar lights around the camp expecially to avoid tripping over things. We are headed up to the Rim tomorrow for some weekend warrior action.

Enjoy your time on the rim @azxp and be ready for the thunderstorms, they have been pretty regular this week. Such a nice change from the valley heat! I'm in "the oven" now but hope to get back up the hill soon.

This is so helpful, as well as all of your information videos. I like the garden solar lights around the possible tripping areas. AND the mouse deterrent device.

Thanks so much @wendysteward7877 !!! Pete is so proud of his DIY garden solar lights. In fact, he's ready to make a few more, maybe we'll do a video showing how he makes them (that's if I could convince him to get in front of the camera LOL). I really appreciate your kind words! Do you have any questions or specific topics you would like us to make videos for? We're all ears! Thanks again for watching and encouraging us!

How do you protect from large hail?

Hi @dakat1726, thanks for the question! Fortunately we don't experience a lot of hail. If we do, it is typically small. What you saw in the video was the largest hail we have ever experienced. We moved our portable solar panels under the trailer so they didn't get damaged. We also fully retracted our RV awnings. The storm came up so quickly, we were unable to cover the solar panels on our roof. Thankfully, nothing was damaged but our neighbors bathroom vent cover was cracked and hail was coming into their bathroom (yikes!) They said their vent cover was older and worn by the sun and weakened. I've heard other RVers who experience larger hail (especially those who live and camp in Texas) will tie together pool noodles and use them as covers on surfaces they want to protect during hail storms. I've also heard when people are driving, they get off the road and try to find a place to park under cover until the storm is over. Mostly, I've heard people say there is very little that can be done to prevent damage from large hail so they recommend having your vehicle insurance up to date and to have gap insurance and full replacement value on your policy. Have you ever been caught in a hail storm?

Try talking a bottle of water a squeeze a little dawn dish soap in it, you can wash your hands and dry them, and not have to use any other water, I use empty dawn dish soap bottles for that purpose, and it will save you a lot of water,

@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna yeah I keep a bottle at every sink in the house and drivers door on every vehicle, it's a
Lot easier to get soap in the sponges, I
I started doing it to have a way to wash my hands on the side of the road after changing flat tires, but if I'm getting grease on my hands, I use motor oil or any kind of oil first, because soap dries your hands out before you can get all the grime out of your finger prints, but oil will remove everything except what is under your finger nails, tooth brush for that, then use the soapy water to get the oil off, it works so good, when working on cars
I can wash my hands as much as I want, and they never dry out to where I have dirty finger prints, just use oil first then soapy water when working on vehicle's,

@@michaelguerin4618 love the idea of using oil first! I always carry sanitizer in our vehicles but your soap bottle idea is so much better when you need to wash instead of just sanitize. I'm switching over, thanks for the tips!
