- European Avata 2 users wake to a happy day, knowing that ye old HAM FILE "hack" actually boost signal, at least 20-30% stronger in both extra-urban and built areas! Contact me on Instagram if you want the HAM file - here's Mads Tech's video on how to install it: • DJI O3 FPV System FCC ...

Nice flight to reach 3km 🎉👍🏼👏 such a nice place to fly
Yes it was! Thank you
You don't need to contact him for the ham file. It's an empty filed called ham_cfg_support
Just create any new file, rename it ham_cfg_support and remove the extention (so not ham_cfg_support.txt but just ham_cfg_support ) Then put it on your sd card (in the main root directory, not in DCIM). Now put the sd card in to the goggle 3 and start it. Do this just once and it's in HAM mode, you will know because in 40 and 60 mhz it will show 3 instead of 1 channel. But if you are in the EU, there might not be a manual option under transmition. Everywhere else in the world you will have that option but the EU. It will be in this ham mode till you do a factory reset on the goggles 3.
Yes the motion controller battery lasts forever. Mads Tech says that it connects to the goggles and then the goggles connect to the drone. Doing the heavy lifting for the motion controller.
Managed to actually charge it for the first time after like 20 flights…insane!
Hey, new sub here. Could you make another test this time in manual mode to see if there is any speed limitation? Thank you!!
Will try at some point, but last time I did manual, I sucked at it! Will try and get to it at some point! Thanks for subbing! :)
Tested by Skyscope 5 days ago already, manual mode not limited anymore.
@@berniepb3075 Thanks! I'll have a look!
@@rdx_aerials Put some time on manual mode, you'll certainly enjoy it once you get there. Great content! I'll follow up
do you keep your transmission in auto or manual channels?
Have no other option but Auto in CE region now…:(
What’s the black square with the white arrow at the bottom of the screen? Is that a compass? If so, how do I enable it?
I believe it’s a compass but I can’t get it to show a map or anything related even when connected to hotspot.
@@rdx_aerials ok, thanks for the info 👍. How do you even enable it? Or was it always there for you?
It’s always there :)
@@rdx_aerials interesting, ok thanks for the info.
It‘s forced enabled in CE only and totally useless.
Does this work on other dji drones like the mini 2 3 or 4
This is only for the goggles, so mostly impacts fpv drones. If you connect your gps drone to the goggles you may get better signal. Haven’t tested it
Okay thanks for letting me know
Nem probalod a Manual modot? Biztos sokkal elvezetesebb.
Fogom, csak 6 honapja nem szimulatoroztam, de mar megjott azota az Rc3 :)
I don't know how you can reach such far distance and i'm quite disappointed with my Avata 2.
I hacked it and turned it into FCC (by using both the app and the HAM File) :
- it unlocked the manual transmission settings and i can use 1 of the 3 channels and also set the frequency
- it unlocked the speed (my record is 95km/h , quite windy those last days)
Unfortunately, the most far distance i could reach is 900 meters (in the countryside, without any trees, in plane fields)
When there are trees, i can't go more than 400m .....
Last time, i lost both RC and video signal at 350m by flying just behind a small tree hedge (2m height) and i crashed ....
The signal is better if i fly at high altitude but i'm losing quite easily the signal when flying closed to the ground :(
I'm not very confident flying with this drone because less than 300m distance, the signal is perfect (60Mbps) but above 300m, i can lose the signal very suddenly
Is anybody encountering same behavior ?
Same with me. I also have the A1 and my A2 has the same range as the A1.
That’s strange, few questions. Where are you based? After installing the ham file in the goggles, did you follow the switch on order? Goggles > controller > drone ? Also i dont have channel options so i’m not sure if you are in europe?
Sorry to hear the troubles. I’m truly happy with the avata 2. But I know how confidence affects the flight experience.
@@rdx_aerials i’m based in France
Actually, I didn’t know there is a switch on order … I generally switch on the goggles, then the drone and finally the RC.
By default, my drone is set on CE mode.
In the Goggles, the transmission is set to automatic and I cant switch to manual.
By hacking it using both the app and the ham file provided By b3yond, I could Unlock the Manual transmission setting (this way, i know the drone is turned into FCC mode). I can change the frequency (5.8ghz) and the bandwidth (60). I can also select one of the 3 channels
I’m glad to know you arr very happy with your drone 😊. I also have lot of fun as long as I Fly short distance but so frustratring to get nervous when Flying over 300m distance -> the risk of signal lost is very high and the crash too 🙁
Yeah, be extra careful especially with underpasses/bridges and other risky situations!
Also, i suggest you reset and repeat the HAM file copy and turn on in the following order (it matters)
Goggles
Rc
Drone
Hope that works!
I have the exact same issue, and I am also in France ! Where are you located? I have even tried my mini 4 pro which is in CE mode using the same goggles 3 + motion controller, and got WAY better signal quality than my avata 2 with B3yond hack + ham file 😢. Avata 2 in CE mode is even worse, I would not be confident using it anywhere as I can lose signal with it like 100m from it if there is a single tree between me and the drone :(. Really can't understand why my CE mini 4 pro gets insanely better signal though, at the same exact locations. Makes no sense to me.
What is HAM file?
It is a specific file that changes radio output :) i linked the video in the description!
not work in France .. UK is not Europeen contry speed in manual mode is limited to 67kmh in ce and 99kmh in FCC you donbt test it ??
I’m in Hungary and it works :)
@@rdx_aerials humm... here in France the ham hack dont make frequancy manual but I seen a video that say its work anyway I have to test it but the weather is sad today
That’s true, no more manual channel changes for us! But it does give us more RF power and unlocks 5.1/5.2ghz! I will test speed at some point!
@@rdx_aerials 500m more is not real prof... I have to test speed max its more significativ
I’m not sure we are watching the same video :) at key points I’m showing you the goggles output :)
So Now EU models can have the same speed as US Avata 2? Is that the only hack?... I already live in the US, so i presume this wont do anything to unlock my drones Altitude limit? I really just want to unlock the Geo restriction like the 500m height limit.
I’m afraid not the altitude here in the EU. I’ve only seen more RF output giving me better signal. Will test the speed at some point but the winds here are dangerous these days.
@@rdx_aerials ah, okay So this is a pointless mod for us in the USA.
@@the_luminary Not necessarily, in the US it unlocks channels giving you more freedom to use a less polluted frequency :)
@@rdx_aerials oh is that right? Im not really familiar with changing channels on my dji drones so forgive me for the noob questions. So how do I know if I need to change channels? And how do I know which channel to change to?
I’m not in the US, So never tried this but from memory, you can switch when your drone is on and outside and see if one signal strength is better than the other. Although you may be able to do that without the file anyway if you are in the US
