So you never found out whether the goggles throw you back to the main menu when signal is lost - because you never lost signal over 2.5km?

Works fine with my old Zhiyun crane

Since the X-H2s firmwares have not been getting better, might as well just downgrade the firmware on the camera.

Man this really helps. I've been considering to get the Avata 1 but after this video, i think the little price difference doesn't justify the difference in quality so I guess it is worth the extra money. I am in France and disappointed with all the poor comments on the bad signal the Avata has. I am glad I found your video. Thanks

Interesting perspective. I have both bodies and they both rock! The A9 III is a beast in terms of speed and although 24 mp, the IQ coming out of this system is IMO incredible. To be honest I have hardly used my A7RV because I enjoy shooting the A9 III so much. I like you thought of the A1 and maybe waiting for the second generation version but ultimately in the end decided to go for both of these bodies instead. No regrets. People tried to convince me to buy an A1 but I could not see paying full price for a camera that is over 4 years old and with old technology. Although it's a great system, the AF and form factor of the newer bodies is much better IMO. There is no real clear timeline as to whether Sony will release a refresh of the A1 anytime soon but I really don't know if it's really feasible for them to do a global shutter with such a high MP. The cost it seems would be prohibitive. The A9 III IMO is the perfect camera in the sense that it resolves the rolling shutter issues and provides flash sync which in itself is a great thing! The 24 MP? Negligible, especially if you're just posting to social media like I am. I got the A7RV mainly for my future interest in landscape, astral and portrait photography where maybe the detail is more desirable. But to be honest? I really love the images coming out of my A9 III. Thanks for your insight and perspective. I've been a Sony shooter for years and doubt I would ever switch as I have so many of their lenses which in tandem with their systems produce amazing images! I shot with an a6000 for years and graduated to an A7 IV for another 3 or so years. Shooting mainly wildlife and my kids events, such as swim team and band. I sold my trusty A7 IV and moved up to these current systems and have loved it so far. If the A1 Mark II ever comes out who knows what it will bring. Perhaps at that point depending on my needs I may consider it but for right now I'm very happy with these 2 systems you've reviewed. Cheers!

Not really. I don’t like the bokeh at all. Looks like a cut out from a cardboard or someone just slapped gaussian blur into the background. The fall off ain’t natural. I’d still stick to the native lenses.

I got mine out of the box 3km away without any problems. As for the signal of yours i had exactly the same.

I don't know how you can reach such far distance and i'm quite disappointed with my Avata 2. I hacked it and turned it into FCC (by using both the app and the HAM File) : - it unlocked the manual transmission settings and i can use 1 of the 3 channels and also set the frequency - it unlocked the speed (my record is 95km/h , quite windy those last days) Unfortunately, the most far distance i could reach is 900 meters (in the countryside, without any trees, in plane fields) When there are trees, i can't go more than 400m ..... Last time, i lost both RC and video signal at 350m by flying just behind a small tree hedge (2m height) and i crashed .... The signal is better if i fly at high altitude but i'm losing quite easily the signal when flying closed to the ground :( I'm not very confident flying with this drone because less than 300m distance, the signal is perfect (60Mbps) but above 300m, i can lose the signal very suddenly Is anybody encountering same behavior ?

With this car, driving is a pleasure though its bad traffic on the highway 🙂

I'm on day 3 of the x4. My last 360 camera was a Ricoh Theta S from 2017. In 360 technology, that's light-years ago. The menus in the phone and app, have me a bit lost, but day three was better than day one, where I wanted to send it back. Today I started to see the light. Question, how do I connect wifi to Shot Lab and the X4 at the same time? Content to camera to get an image, but then I cannot connect to Shot Lab. In some content, it seems to find the 260 videos in my tablet, others, the videos are not in my tablet. New sub, thank you.

Does this work on other dji drones like the mini 2 3 or 4

So Now EU models can have the same speed as US Avata 2? Is that the only hack?... I already live in the US, so i presume this wont do anything to unlock my drones Altitude limit? I really just want to unlock the Geo restriction like the 500m height limit.

You don't need to contact him for the ham file. It's an empty filed called ham_cfg_support Just create any new file, rename it ham_cfg_support and remove the extention (so not ham_cfg_support.txt but just ham_cfg_support ) Then put it on your sd card (in the main root directory, not in DCIM). Now put the sd card in to the goggle 3 and start it. Do this just once and it's in HAM mode, you will know because in 40 and 60 mhz it will show 3 instead of 1 channel. But if you are in the EU, there might not be a manual option under transmition. Everywhere else in the world you will have that option but the EU. It will be in this ham mode till you do a factory reset on the goggles 3.

Yes the motion controller battery lasts forever. Mads Tech says that it connects to the goggles and then the goggles connect to the drone. Doing the heavy lifting for the motion controller.

not work in France .. UK is not Europeen contry speed in manual mode is limited to 67kmh in ce and 99kmh in FCC you donbt test it ??

Having moved from the Z6ii to the A74, both Sony’s AF and lens ecosystem alone were worth the switch. I’m looking at upgrading to the A7R5 or “downgrading” to either the Fuji X-H2 or H2S. We have 6 children and use photography heavily in their education (art, geography, mechanics, technology, etc.), it’s an amazing medium. We’ve bought them all older Fuji Finepix Bridge cameras (S9800, SL1000s), and the images they get from those 16mp sensors are wonderful! They’ve even won a couple photo contests with them. Creating an entire ecosystem for the family using the Fuji X platform makes a lot of sense considering overall cost, body style choices, system familiarity etc. The question for me is always “will the AF be good enough on the Fuji?”. Loved your images on both platforms, I’m not a pro but as a graphic artist and musician I have high standards. Facilitating a quick turn around from image to jpeg is also a priority, I love Post but would rather spend my time shooting if the quality is acceptable. Fuji’s film sims and “recipes” seem to be a route to that rapid sharing. Would love to hear your thoughts with your recent experience. Conversely, I could also get a couple used A73’s for the kids to start with… for the same price however I could get them X-T4s… Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing,useful for me as I’m looking at 2 of the cameras you were shooting, Sub’d to watch your journey!
