What a shame you were treated badly as a child. Just disgusting. I wish everyone could have a mom like mine. I would have loved a brother or sister and would have treated you like gold.
Oh my god. I never would have thought I would be crying over a rat. When she started talking about him in the past I went oh no... Lovely story which has moved me to tears. Thank you for having rescued him and given him a life worth living and all your love. This can also teach everyone of us a lesson :we shouldn t reject those who look different and we should be able to look beyond their differences.Bless you

Why do I keep doing this to myself? Now I'm sitting here at the age of 40 and I'm in tears. Why am I always watching these videos? Because these videos keep showing me how wonderful animals can be and that animal friendship is the most honest thing in the world...
Don't worry I'm 16 ans I'm doing the same things Except that I also watch animals rescue videos that make me burst in rage because humans did put them in this situation

All animals have these rights and capacities, including those innocents who are forced into short brutal lives, suffering, until their violent deaths at the slaughterhouse. Pets are NOT about just being something to pet because they are soft. It is about creating a relationship. A bond. This relationship can be so unique and incredible.
Yes, and I LOVE this woman! She has compassion for all creatures and all creatures respond! Klunk's special time with her hopefully made up for ALL the past stuff...🥰 "Quality"...❤️💞🐀✨
Unpopular opinion: Pets are about selling you products that you don't need for an animal that should not be kept in homes or bred for the entertainment of humans. Truly an incredible relationship.
@@MicroageHD Most typical pets do belong in the home i.e. dogs, cats and these type of rodents. All of them have long since been bred for that purpose. Having them anywhere but in the home is cruel and neglectful at this point. Many other animals, while not directly intended to be in homes, do need rescues sometimes and you need to be more involved than just dump them outside in some kennel. Nothing is freaking worse than the said sorry animals that are kept outside, but shouldnt be - like people who keep many "hunting" dogs kenneled outside like you would your car or lawnmower. Yes, these dogs were bred to be pretty likely to perform certain tasks, but they are still just dogs and have the same needs (in most cases) as any dog. As for the products, that's your call, but most people have a relationship with their pets and strive to give them more than just an existence.
My cat hated being petted. If she wanted some cuddling she would come and lie on you, but stroking her fur was right out. I still miss her. Maybe Ill get a kitten. or maybe an adult from a shelter.
@@MicroageHD hi ho, disagreement here. While I agree with the notion that pets shouldn't be bred for purposes of entertainment and, frankly, breeding mills are hellish, pets by their very nature are domesticated animals that live with humans, so that's kind of a contradiction? Whether they live in the house with you is also subject to variation based on the pet itself and the relationship you have with the animal, or if the animal is a pet at all and not just tamed. While companies do endlessly exploit anything they can make money off, pets themselves didn't come about for that reason, though they've been exploited by that and the things you buy tend to be things they need. A better example of exploitation of animals for the purpose of monetary gain would be again, breeding mills, fighting rings, zoos/zoosadist content, pet stores selling animals without clearance on the person, animals bred for cuteness selling of exotic animals. These are partially contributed to by shallow people wanting shallow things for their own 'aw' factor over the life of another living being when in reality they should have a plant as a starting pet. If you're frustrated by the typical relationships that pets have with owners and you can handle it, get chickens.
@Digby Dooright Totally agree!!! But They will one day, this brutality is becoming more apparent now since there are amazing vids like this that actually show those that don't believe, like the saying goes 'You can't unsee what you have seen' & start treating all life-forms with kindness.
because rats can carry HPS, Leptospirosis, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, plague, and typhus. Look at history. That's why. Personally i love rats and they can be great pets. I had two growing up. Wild rats can be dangerous though. You have to get them tested just like dogs and other wild animals before keeping them as pets.

Clunke's life was "only two years" in human terms, but a whole lifetime to hm. Thanks to his kind owner, he had love and fun and led a full, contented life. Bravo. xx
Problem is wild rats can carry and pass diseases. Plus, some rats, like river rats can get as big as small cats. This I've seen myself. I like all creatures, great & small!
Evolution. Humans have evolved to hate rats long before you got here because rats can carry deadly diseases. Therefore, it is beneficial for someone to avoid rats, which would mean they have less chances of getting sick. Same with spiders, which can be venomous. Disclaimer: I don't hate rats, I'm just stating stuff.
When she said "It won't hurt that badly for that long" suddently brought tears to my eyes. Made me remember how I felt with the death of my dog one year ago. That black endless sorrow that hurts you so bad and makes you wish to never met them so you won't feel that way once they are gone. I know it's life. But still makes me cry a little everytime I remember their company, like now...
I haven’t experienced the death of a fur baby but about an hour ago, I took my boy out for his last potty of the day. He ran off and didn’t come back for a long while. He hardly ever lets me out of his sight for a couple minutes. He was gone so long and didn’t respond to my calls that I thought someone grabbed him. The fear and sadness that creeped in on me?! The thought of not having him with me?! All I can do is express my condolences for the loss of your dog. We really do grow close to our animals. It’s not easy to explain to someone who isn’t or has never been close to one.
@@spitfirestake54 The feeling will be worse the days after, but you'll eventually make room for it. Once experienced, it is impossible to completely forget that kind of pain. Best of luck. Remember that nobody will take away those great moments I'm sure you had together.
I feel your pain. Lost my pomeranian the day after mother's day last year and there is still a hole in my heart. I know passing is a part of the deal but it still hurts so much.
I'm so glad this woman found Klunk and could give him a loving quality life before he went to the rainbow bridge. He found the love and acceptance he always wanted. RIP sweet Klunk.
Fun fact: The name Klunk, could possibly come from the danish word 'klunker', which is another word for balls/testicles. I can hear this lady is from Denmark, so it's probably not too far fetched, that she named it after a testicle! And who can really blame her.. look at him!
What a cool little guy. Even though he faced so many obstacles, Klunk worked hard to integrate into his little community until he had the loving family he deserved. Seeing the way the rats treated him at 1:56 was sad, but he wasn't fazed and kept working on his social skills. RIP Klunk
Great Love Story! Poor little guy, just looking for love like the rest of us. Thanks so very much for rescuing him and loving him during his short life. Best wishes to all out there, 💗
Aww, I’m crying both tears of joy and sadness! You are an Angel for taking care of adorable little Klunk and giving him a wonderful life while he was here!✨💖✨
Same, most would have just given up and said he can't be with another rat because he's too different. Made me happy that he finally got some rat friends too.
Your story brought tears. I worked in a pet store that had rats and experienced the love that they give to people. I helped my Mother rehabilitate hundreds of wild birds, squirrels, raccoons , butterflies and even , once , a Praying Mantis. We would care for and release these creatures whenever possible. When our wildlife friends could not be released, we kept them , loved them, played and cherished them until their natural demise. You are a person who values the worth of “ all creatures great and small”. Cheers to you. You are one of a kind😀
@K A E L Y N 💋 hi.. we could not release creatures into the wild if they could not take care of themselves. We had a blind cat bird named Kitty.. a Baltimore Oriel that could not fly, we had a Monarch butterfly that was missing his back set of legs… these wild creatures became part of our family until they dies.
God, that last part made me cry. I own rats and while they are my favorite animal on this planet, they do get tumors so easily and each time I've had to put 1 down, I just sob with the poor little one in my arms as they pass. I recently lost my very last hairless rat to a tumor and she died in my arms as I pet her. I haven't cried that hard in a long time. I adore pet rats. They are such amazing, loving, playful animals that bond better than cats and act like tiny puppies ❤️ of the 60 I have rescued or owned, I have only ever been bit 1 time, 4 years ago, with the very first rat I ever owned. I have never been bit since and once you learn their personalities, they are less likely to bite than a dog.
@@lunaballuna I’m so sorry about your recent loss(and all of them). I have never had a rat, but I’ve had dogs, cats and a sweet little hamster. Losing a fur baby is heart breaking.

Never thought much about rats until a self-contained Special Education class "adopted" one that the boys named "Crystal." She was sweet, smart, and social. She was good for the kids, and they were good for her. I used to visit her on my plan period, and she was a bright spot in my day. Such a character!
I’m literally trying not to cry but this video was just so touching. I love all animals and just hearing her story and the connect with her rats was just beautiful.
Not gonna lie broke my fucking heart. At least he had the group he deserved and got to experience love again. "you could see they thought he were disgusting" - enough to make a grown man sniffle
It's nice to see there's people out there that can and do take the loss, but keep going with rats. I used to keep them, but eventually couldn't handle the short time you get with them. Such a nice lady, and RIP Klunk.
I used to have a rat named “suzie q” but then Suzie Q grew boy parts so he was then called “Sue” aka “a boy named Sue”. He already knew his name so I couldn’t change it. When I would get home, if he already snuck out of my cage, I would get into bed and say “Sue Sue!” And he came running to me every time and would curl up into my lap. It was so endearing and heart warming. Just like other animals, you are their entire world and they never fail to show you how special you are to them! People need to just realize this for themselves instead of going off of what they’ve heard and seen on tv!!We miss you so much, Sue Sue!💕
Reading the comments, people don’t realize how lovable and sweet rats truly are. I recently had two albino rats for the first time and let me tell you, your perspective truly changes once you get to experience life with them. Not that I ever thought rats were “nasty” because they aren’t. And in my honest opinion, rats are better pets than hamsters. The time I spent with my boys was one that I would have liked to have forever but rats have very short life spans. It hurts that people see rats as “disgusting” animals when in reality, they have a good hygiene just like a dog or cat. They are the funnest, intelligent, sweetest, adorable and curious little creatures I have ever had and they are deserving of love and a good home. This little guy had an angel took care of him and I’m so glad he found his human. Ya’ll, rats and other small animals have feelings too and they are deserving of a good life just like a cat or dog does.
Animals are animals. We’re all animals, humans too. We all have emotions, and many animals are social creatures/pack animals, who have evolved to live cooperatively through social bonding. Love, connection and affection is something all animals crave and need. Especially social ones. 🥰
@@Handles-Are-A-Stupid-Idea well, this story demonstrated that racism is a natural instinct, inherent in animals as in humans.. Remeber it next time someone says "animals are better than humans" and that rats are "so lovely", they are not, they are "instinct machines" and the "loveliness" is only in the mind of whom humanizes them.
I’m so glad she didn’t give up and leave him on his own! A lot of people would have given up and left him on his own just because he “didn’t get along “ with other rats. This is amazing ❤️
Rats have such a short lifetime, that it’s important to appreciate the quality, not the quantity. I’ve had pet rats, and none lived past 2 years. It always hurts to lose them, because they are incredibly affectionate and sociable, but it’s definitely worth it. They’re amazing little creatures.
Having that kinda mentality towards a creature cause it's "ugly" is so fucked up. What if you were born ugly as shit and got abandoned? Love everyone, love everything. Hate is gonna be the death of this world @vid eo
I'm so sorry for your loss. Our sweet rat "Salty" died of cancer too, so I know how tough it can be. Rats are such wonderfully loving companions. I hope your moving video helps more people gain a greater understanding of rats.🐀 ❤ 🙂
When I was a child in South Los Angeles, rats were my best friends. I would get home from school and run to the garage and they would all come running when I called them.❤️
May I call you Sandy? 😆 Seriously, I’m very touched by your comment. It seems like you turned what could have been a horrible situation; a rat infested neighborhood; into a positive experience. Good for you.
What a kind lady. Such compassion. She gave Klunke the best part of his life. I'm glad she found him. He's stepped aside so she can help another little rattie.
So glad Klunk was given the chance to meet you and find love and acceptance. It's gut wrenching he had developed cancer, most likely from his broken heart from being abandoned. May his little soul find joy over the rainbow after such a challenging life. Blessings to you for loving him just as he was. He sounds like he was a cutie.
We had a naked rat once. He, too, had been through a couple of homes. We also had a very strange rat (with fur) who seemed to believe he was a human being, there had been a terrible mix-up, and could he please call his lawyer to straighten all this out. Turned out that he and the nakie got along famously-- the other rat thought he was a "fellow human," and the nakie got a friendly space heater. Thank you for rescuing so many rats. You are a kind soul.
That's a great take on how to view your pet's loss. It won't hurt that much for that long, and you can give your love to another animal who needs it, there are so many animals that deserve love and proper care
My gf rescued 3 albino rats from being snake food. She raised them and taught me alot about how intelligent and social they really are. They are very clean too.
So glad to hear. We need to keep that exposure going bc people really do have a misconception about them and I've always said, being around them for just a bit can convert anybody.
Another human being that understands that all living things deserve to be happy and feel loved. I’m so glad There are more like me. What a kind person you are.❤
He was smiling. Awe I’m sad cause when she said he “loved me” I knew he passed. Still, knowing people like her exist makes me happy. Glad he was able to love out the rest of his life with someone who loved him back
I am crying right now. I love rats so much. I wish people would change the way they see these adorable creatures. God bless this girl's soul, thank you for being such a kind human being
When I was 17 me and my boyfriend got a couple of rats together. When we broke up I brought them home and my Grandma was HORRIFIED. She ended up falling in love with them so much so that when they passed away we got her a rat. When that rat passed away it absolutely broke her heart. She went from being disgusted and terrified of these animals to living them more than she’d ever loved any pet. When I see people with a connection with their rats I think of my Grandma. She always said they don’t live long enough and it’s just not fair. They are by far the BEST pets...
He is utterly beautiful. Rats, even hairless ones are absolutely superb, loving and gentle pets. Mine wandered the house (safely as anywhere but the living room, their huge cage, front passage and landing was closed to them}, even when I was in work for 2 hours in the morning and another two in the afternoon. The only time they were secured in the cage was when I was in bed. They came when I called them and they were stunning pets. I miss them, they never made it past two years which is about average - but oh boy did I love them.
@@JohnBlessed5I don't have to. Just asked the Lion whisperer, besides we don't have to take all animals into our homes, just do right by them rather they are wild or domesticated. As we should also do right by our fellow man.

I had 2 hairless rats that were brothers - Roger and Marvin. They were the sweetest, kindest and most cuddliest little guys. I only had them for a short time due to their lifespan but they were amazing companions and most definitely worth the time to get to know. Rats are more sociable and attention seeking than people give them credit. Animals want what we all want = love.

I dont see rats as disgusting they are so cute and clean. I Love all animals, they have as much rites to live on earth as anybody else. Rip cutey xxxx💜
What a hear breaking end 😭 but they both were Lucky to find each other, people have so much to learn from animals... for him she was everything, and she had enough compassion to fall in love with this little angle. I was sure there would be a happy ending, made me feel so sad he had such short life.. but still.. he got to be loved and not be abandoned again, till he drew his last breath.
He is adorable. All little life forms have Pure souls & have real personalities.

@Digby Dooright Totally agree!!! But They will one day, this brutality is becoming more apparent now since there are amazing vids like this that actually show those that don't believe, like the saying goes 'You can't unsee what you have seen' & start treating all life-forms with kindness.

it is bcoz rats full of bacteria that's not good with our health
because rats can carry HPS, Leptospirosis, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, plague, and typhus. Look at history. That's why. Personally i love rats and they can be great pets. I had two growing up. Clunke's life was "only two years" in human terms, but a whole lifetime to hm. Thanks to his kind owner, he had love and fun and led a full, contented life. Bravo. xx
How could anyone find him disgusting. He is absolutely gorgeous. So affectionate too.
Problem is wild rats can carry and pass diseases. Plus, some rats, like river rats can get as big as small cats. This I've seen myself.
I like all creatures, great & small!
Naw rats are just really affectionate creatures

Me too😞
I haven’t experienced the death of a fur baby but about an hour ago, I took my boy out for his last potty of the day.

Why couldn't they be released didn't have skills to survive long in wild anymore mainly, some wanted to stay?
@K A E L Y N 💋 hi.. we could not release creatures into the wild if they could not take care of themselves. We had a blind cat bird named Kitty.. a Baltimore Oriel that could not fly, we had a Monarch butterfly that was missing his back set of legs… these wild creatures became part of our family until they dies.

Where did you read that in the comments? Everyone here seems to think rats are a fine pet.
Animals are animals. We’re all animals, humans too. We all have emotions, and many animals are social creatures/pack animals, who have evolved to live cooperatively through social bonding. Love, connection and affection is something all animals crave and need. Especially social ones. 🥰
Yeah, but they are racists too...

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! THANK U FOR YOUR VIDEO!!!! THANK U FOR LOVING AND SAVING HIM!!!! LOVE AND PEACE!!!!
