It took a few hours, but eventually they got him to come out, and he refused to leave their side ... until a few weeks later, when he ran off into the woods and they couldn't find him. U thought the same when I saw all of those cages with multiple dogs in them & im sure the cages were originally built just for a single animal. On TH-cam I’ve seen multiple videos of people posting “dump locations”(where people frequently go to abandon their dogs) in Texas. I don’t understand why Texas has such a huge problem with this but seeing their shelter jam packed really made it sink in. I’m a delivery driver & work in a really rich area & can’t tell u how much it bothers me to go to all these houses & probably 95% of them have dogs which clearly came from a breeder or pet store. I wish they made restrictions on breeders & pet stores. There is no reason dogs should continue tk be bred when we have to shelter & euthanize so many due to lack of resources & space

being adopted is like a huge compliment in my opinion, so yeah, congrats to y'all.
(it's cats who keep adopting me as much as the other way around but i would totally have a pit too if i had a real yard so they could still run around a little outside or whatever on my low spoon days and they got along. with my current kittehs.)
my mama is like "why do you keep getting the strays with health stuff?" because my orange tabby boi has allergies, i've had one who needed steroid shots every january, my first long-term was FeLeuk+, and the one before a too-skinny-then mama calico and her kittens became my current crew developed diabetes because she was at "HOW old is she now?" levels. my mama calico is basically healthy as of last vet visit, amazingly :).
i tell her it's because bastet knows where to send them.
Yuuup, I ended up stealing my dog. His past owner was abusive and I had no intentions on getting a dog. Then when i saw my boys face, I knew I couldn't let him go back. Now I have a 102 pound pitbull I fight over a bed with..

Gypsy Rose dogs choose there owners and owners choose them like my dogs they walked up to me at the shelter and we were looking at an old dog but came home with two three month old puppy’s :)

My dog sometimes does that. I Like him but i Dont really Like how any1 can be his owner. If grab him, he becomes yours. Lol.
He even takes his walks alone and goes see all his Friends on 3 different towns and then comes back after 2 or 3 hours.
Once or twice a random kid would take him home because he was so easily given, But we found him.

After my dog passed away I came home and found a sick little puppy in my yard. So I adopted her.
12 years later when she passed away, again I came home to find another puppy that was absolutely dehydrated and hungry in my backyard... 11 years later she's still here next to me. 😀
These puppies are probably told by the previous one that you are a loving owner (because they can perceive ghosts and stuff). Or, people see how you care for them and provide a nurturing figure in their life and then drop a dog in your yard if they know they can’t care for the dog.

Pits are the best dogs. People ruin them. Bring one up right and they become part of the family. Just be careful of what you feed them. Remember, what goes in has to come out. They've been known to clear a room..

Glad Buddy is home where he belongs. I wouldn't be able to walk through a shelter and seeing all those sad faces longing for a home. In a perfect world, I'd adopt them all.

Sometimes whenyou see a dog and try to give it water, or food it may throw it up. The dog may be too tired and trying to feed it may make the dog sick. Its bestbto let it calm down and then slowly feed it small portions so see if it can eat and drink properly

He didn’t want to get out of the truck because he was afraid he’d be abandoned.
He knew he was safe in there too. No shouting, no pushing or hitting, just food and nice people - I wouldn't get out of their truck either. In fact, if I ever find their truck, they're in for a surprise when "that lady won't get out of our truck" happens!

I'm almost 100% certain Buddy had previous owners, but was just never registered.
registering a dog is government bullshit. makes trouble for the owners. homeowners insurance also goes way up if you have a registered dog. (not just a pitbull). it's ridiculous that some places will fine you for not doing it. again, government bullSHIT. but if you mean microchipped thats different. a good collar and a tag with their name and your phone number works great too. I got my dog back a few times because of a tag. she was a problem child at first. lol but she finally lost interest in wandering off.

Humans are not the only ones who can choose to adopt. There are so many great stories out there of dogs, cats, even wildlife, that meet and bond with humans in a heartbeat.
When a dog chooses you..You keep them.Its a special privilege and Honor in my believe for an animal to choose YOU!
I’ve had this happen but unfortunately my parents weren’t having it. She was a German Shepherd puppy, tall but her ears were still flopped over. She just walked up to my door and literally scratched as if she were knocking 🥺! I fed her and even put an old dog house out for her but my parents just did not want a big dog. Lol sobbed on the phone with my dad and after an HOUR of her crying at the front door she finally left. Breaks my heart to think about what might of happened to her

My pitbull honey found me too. She wanted to get in my car one morning, she was so skinny and looked like she had been bred multiple times. She looked just like buddy. She hung around the house & i couldn't turn her away. She was soo sweet and well mannered. Pitbulls are misunderstood, they are so loyal and protective.

Thats how i found my luv bug pittie Fannin, bought a new car and it broke down in a bad part of Atlanta, saw a puppy pit living in the dumpster next to a gas station i rolled into and when i called her she hopped right in the car, been happy ever since and cant believe it happened.

The shelters in the Houston area have been over run since the last floods there. That's why I always say it's better to adopt than to buy your pets. Please donate to your nearest no kill shelters. It takes alot to run these shelters so anything counts. ❤️

But unless he wandered hella far (which would’ve been shown by him looking rough somehow), the local shelters would have been notified that the original owner was looking for him if they were. Face it, they weren’t looking for him. :(

The GPS tracker part took me out. This dog chose them and then they made sure he can't get lost again by putting space age technology on his neck. There are satellites in orbit to ensure that Buddy does not go missing again. Buddy made a good choice of family.

Literally the same thing happened to me when I parked at my wife's office a few months ago but the dog was very injured it had been hit by a car. Thankfully I was able to use the information on its collar tags 2 find the owner who was literally right around the corner and we got the dog back to them and it made a full recovery. We often think how many people might have reacted negatively to a random Pitbull jumping into their car but in this case it picked a couple who loves all dogs
