Unless you start off with a good moisturizer keratolytic like Albolene you have nothing. Most will get nowhere not even with their feet, psoriasis, rosecea and/nor foreskin. So Albolene works, its a great moisturizer and even great for rosecea and psoriasis. So I do suggest you start here. Once they've started with this pre-step then they can pursue your dermatological products. Albolene is also very inexpensive with no active products so it causes no redness and prevents redness while also acting as a protectant balm when washed off. Also great pre and post shaving for sensitive dry skin.
Thank you so much for this! I used too much of something on my eyelids and underneath them, I thought it was glycolic acid. Anyway, choose which eye cream I bought it wouldn’t calm my red, inflamed skin around my eyes down. It just stung. I’m doing this right now for a week. I don’t know whether my skin barrier is damaged but my Tretinoin started causing a lot of flaking and dryness. I’m now washing, moisturizing, and using SPF. No actives beyond niacinamide in my Cerave moisturizer.
Tretinoin is very hard on the moisture barrier. You may want to just use it once a week and increase if your skin can stand it. Applying a layer of moisturizer before the tret also helps slow down absorption and protects your moisture barrier.
This happens to me sometimes, but my skin doesn't like any moisturizer or hydrators... I just use gentle facial wash, pm and am and, and sunscreen at am... And enough sleep, i feel that my skin regenerates evertyime i sleep😉😊

It’s been 2 weeks. My skin isn’t sensitive or red or flaky it’s nothing like a typical description of damaged skin barrier but it’s incredibly and abnormally OILY . I suspect moisture barrier was damaged hence the oils seeping to the surface. I’m so tempted to use oil control cleanser + SA to get rid of oily mess but I’m scared of making things worse with harsh products and don’t know if that’s what caused my t zone + cheeks to become super oily all of a sudden. I had normal / combo skin before. How long to ete pair skin barrier if only symptom is oilyness? I don’t have sensitivity redness dryness pain or flaky skin only oily…I feel so defeats my skin is greasy gross even after 2 weeks of water wash in AM gel moisturizer + SPFA and gentle cleanser at PM+ moisturizer
For some reason, last night, my neck only reacted to a cream, and now my crease lines are red and dry. Same. I never used anything on my face my entire life and had great skin. Then one day a few months ago I randomly used a moisturizer and it badly irritated my skin causing redness. I then used steroid creams but it didn’t heal and it turned my skin extremely dry and tight. I then decided to not wash my face at all not even water disgusting I know but I tough it would heal my skin so I did for 2 weeks. Doing this turned my extremely dry skin into extremely greasy and oily. My face is now also 2 shades darker than the rest of my body from not washing. I use fresh aloe vera it works
I must say it’s not for everyone. Some people allergic to aloe vera
Hello Dr. Shah, can you do a short video on collagen supplements please?
A dermatologist should be like you ...☺️
We are encouraged by your appearance, skin freshness as well as smartness.....👍🌹
Hi Doc, I would appreciate if you can let me know what to use on post acne and pimple marks. Thanks. 😊
Hi let me know too if you get your answer
Please make a video on psoriasis
Thank you so much for this! I used too much of something on my eyelids and underneath them, I thought it was glycolic acid. Anyway, choose which eye cream I bought it wouldn’t calm my red, inflamed skin around my eyes down. It just stung. So I asked the Pharmacist for his help and he recommended some Boots light steroid cream, just to put on thinly for no longer than 5 days. This helped hugely! I’m using a gentle eczema cream now as I can’t find anything that will keep my eyes from drying out. So when I saw this video I was so very pleased! But, I live in United Kingdom, and can’t find this Keihls circa moisturiser, even online. Can you recommend any other cream for my eyes please? I would be so grateful. 😃
The problem is if I stop shaving I will look unfresh..... What should I do? Can I use oneblade everyday without further causing irritation?
He really likes the Kiehl products in his videos
Hello doctor! How are you? Can you suggest me some ointment to get rid of ringworms. Its been quite more than a year and I had been to many dermatologists, but to no use. Please suggests the name and composition of the cream.
@@ALT-vz3jn so true . I have acne prone skin and it caused me flare-up. A soothing gel moisturiser and slugging at night helped me a lot .
Can i use vitamin c with that?
you can use these Kiehl's products on dry skin type?
This happens to me sometimes, but my skin doesn't like any moisturizer or hydrators... I just use gentle facial wash, pm and am and, and sunscreen at am... And enough sleep, i feel that my skin regenerates evertyime i sleep😉😊
Same only pure petroleum jelly works for me as thin amount
I prefer long exposure of direct sunlight
Thank you a lot's doctor for the advice 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I've had acne ever since I was in middle school (mid30s now) and acne products totally messed up my skin in my 20s. Only recently started to repair my skin barrier with just cleanser, sunscreen and Ceramedx (the vegan version of cerave cream).
What exactly is a damaged barrier?
I love the fact that even he is a dermatologist, he doesn't have *the perfect* skin
No one does
Are you blind.
Do this everyday?
For some reason, last night, my neck only reacted to a cream, and now my crease lines are red and dry. When I felt the burning sensation, I washed with water and sprayed Avène Thermal Spring Water mist to cool it down. I have left it alone all night and will now use AvèneCicalfate+ to repair my skin.
Can you do a review on all the Khiel’s product please? What’s good and how to properly use or layer them. I can’t find much videos on this brand. Thank you.
Hi Doc, can I still use vit C in my morning routine?
How does it compare to ceramide moisturizer?
@Doctorly What if you have bad acne? Would you still make the same recommendation?
Vaseline, it’s not just for the bedroom anymore
@Trinity M real men use Vaseline
Hi, just a question, will using sudacrem on your face block pores?
Same thing happened to me finally u make a video on this😅
Omg yes this happened to me and now I have those same looking bumps all over my cheeks but I’ve been using a gentle lotion and cleanser and slowly seeing improvements.
Be gentle with your skin, especially your lips! 💜🙏
Thank you kind sir
Guys, revolutionary idea! How about we STOP rubbing dirt in to our wounds.
So is it bad to exfoliate?
Do u need a hydrating serum?
Easy if you’re not dealing with hard water issues.
Can you make a video about comedones? I do have a few whiteheads on my nose even though I cleanse and use a non comedogenic moisturizer. Will lactic acid help?
I think differin is good for that, I know blackheads for sure but maybe whiteheads too
I started using a sulfur ointment mixed with cerave nightly and my cc have all but disappeared in the past week. Smells gross but super cheap and effective!
Dr. Shah can I use centella facial oil... Plz reply
Should one stop using rethinol for a while to give the skin time to heal?
Yes, that’s what he said to do in this video.
@@lynnwilhoite6194 oh yeah. I didnt pay close attention to what he says. Thanks 😁
@@heemeen5202 No problem 😉
Can we apply cream without washing face?
Why dermatologist suggest us to live with our skincare routine but they always change their skincare🤔
So they make more money with their affiliate links.
@Trinity M but your skin also changes, per season, and also over time. They do get used the product. Sometimes a cream works really well for me for a few months but than it starts with break-outs, etc. So changing your routine is not bad, if you experience some negatives.
Sigh. I finally got my skin adjusted to retin a. Was using it nightly with no irritation. This got me excited and I thought my skin was ready to be reintroduced to my AM exfoliant.
As it turns out: No.
Could you please recommend a good sunscreen for whole family use during summer
Thank you 😊
does damaged also include very textured dry skin?
I like whole skin ointment for skin repair.
Sunscreen for sensitive and acne skin?
I have psoriasis in bum 5 year ago that cause my buttocks so dark. Please give me remedy
Thank you so much for all of your helpful videos! What’s the best day and night skin care routine you recommend for a breastfeeding mom with combo skin ?
Try Vanicream. Their whole skin care line was designed by Mayo Clinic physicians for cancer patients with super sensitive skin. Super hydrating and healing at a very reasonable price.
@@LoveABun thank you so much ☺️
From the moment I started using face products, my skin barrier got messed up. I am looking for natural ingredients now, I kind of lost faith on the serums and chemical products 😢 I want my healthy skin back!
you know what else is natural? lead. you know what water is? a chemical. the words you're saying don't mean anything. do some research.
I permanently ruined myself and all of this could have been avoided if I didn’t use skincare.
Sorry for the long text but I’m warning people. If your skin is all right and you aren’t using anything than keep it that way. My skin is damage beyond repair and I’m left depressed and suicidal 😢
@@Dan24. let me know if it gets better
@Dan24. Wow that escalated quickly. Hope your doing better now.
You probably won't read this but whatever. I have cold urticaria, recently with the weather an extreme cold winds I have a major flare up alongside comedones popping up beneath red spots, they didn't even have a chance to grow into acne, they're just there white in the center of super red thin layers of skin 😭😭😭😭
can we please have the list of products in the description or comments? that would help. Thank you
What to do in case of damaged barrier and painful acne
“Damaged skin barrier” YES😃
I want to ask if we can use ordinary on body
Yeast is part of the fungal family. So yes the term fungal acne is very appropriate.
