Something I highly recommend adding to this routine --- EXERCISE! Exercising pushes gunk and sweat out of your pores and you're all hot so when you take a shower after a workout, you're cleaning a TON of grime. Exercising daily will do wonders for your skin and health
I agree, I didn’t want to put new products on my face to avoid any bad reaction so i resorted to exercising and ever since I started (for even 10 minutes a day) my skin has looked so much brighter and my pores looks much smaller. This is honestly the best advice for this problem.
For people who feel like a long deep cleanse is out of the question - I highly recommend buying one of those soft silicone cleansing brushes (I got mine at Sephora for like $4), putting cleansing oil on your face, sitting down to watch an episode of something, and just gently using the cleansing brush the whole time. You can do it with your fingers as well, obviously, but using a silicone brush will make it so your hands don't get oily and you can still type on your keyboard or eat chips in the meantime or whatever. As someone with VERY oily skin deep cleansing is such a game changer and I really recommend it to everyone - if things like this feel like they're just too involved for you try pairing them with an activity you already do, like watching TV, which is what I do. An amazing video as always Tina, you're always such a joy to watch and none of your recommendations has ever led me astray
@@hombre6604i recommend the anua one from this video. make sure to always check ingredients of any products you choose and use. lastly, make sure you’re following the oil cleanser with a water based cleanser to remove leftover oil! start with these steps and hopefully you can find someone you enjoy using!
@@hombre6604 at first oil cleansers will always feel a little itchy at first because your skin isn't used to it yet, but i can recommend japan's most viral oil cleansers: the kose softymo oil cleansers, they are super effective yet super gentle. there are three versions, deep, white, and speedy. i use the deep one, and it works SOOO WELL it really goes deep into your pores like when you just massage the areas with congested pores you start to feel some grit on your fingers and you can literally SEE THE GUNK that's been in your pores on your fingers! it's crazy cool. the speedy one is viral for completely melting off any traces of makeup. i'm not really sure what the white one is for but hope this helps!
@@hombre6604I've been using the CeraVe cleansing balm, i take some and rub in my hands to melt before using. no fragrance in cerave! sometimes I'll add a few drops of face oils as well to make it a little thinner (i have bottles of squalane + argan oil from the ordinary), since I'm double cleansing i don't have to worry too much about oil residue :)

You clearly know what you’re talking about, it was so clear and understandable when you explain it. Also I never even knew hydrating toners were a thing honestly. I am in the US so it makes sense. Thank you so much!!
After getting an actual spot treatment from a dermatologist I'm getting back into the skincare game (I never like left, but I was more focused on just cleansing, moisturizing and spf). This was such a great informative video, I really needed some refreshments on how to take care of my pores, as well as taking in new recs for products that I missed. Also, I'm getting a renewed interest in toners, something that I didn't consider in such a long time.
wow i had no idea that there were different types of pore shapes and that nose and cheek pores have different problems and treatments! one of the most informative skincare videos I've seen in a long time, tysm for this!!
Thanks Tina! I have dry and dehydrated skin, which became much better after following your routines. Found so many of my HGs from your channel! Lots of love!
2:45 the part where she mentions exfoliating and loosening the pores using warm water. I do the same thing but use a steamer instead which evenly distributes hot steam over the face and apply any grainy scrub, and then apply corresponding face wash, toner and any other moisturizer to complete the skin care. It's easy and cost-efficient instead of spending loads on choosing serums and other chemical products.
Another method to warm up your pores: heat water in a clean kettle. Pour the hot water in a clean bowl. Bend over or sit parallel to the bowl with a clean towel over your head and the bowl. It’s like a mini sauna. You can pair it with the hot clean white cotton towel compression method at the end which I believe gently exfoliates. Please use white 100% cotton towels or Egyptian white cotton burp cloths (like the ones for babies, which are also really gentle for drying hair) to clean or dry your face with because they are the more hygienic option. When you wash white towels you’re able to fully disinfect with white vinegar and backing soda / Lysol’s Laundry Bleach, or preferred fabric bacteria killing option like laundry bleach, along with a gentle non fragrant laundry soap. I enjoy using Lysol’s Laundry Bleach and Costco’s Kirkland Signature powder laundry detergent (at the bottom of the washer so all the dirty laundry goes on top of it) on a hot water setting which helps the soap fully dissolve. If I have time, then I pour hot kettle water, in a mug, stir the powder and water mixture with a clean fork, to pre dissolve the laundry powder detergent just to be extra sure the clothing, sheets, and towels do not come out with un melted powder. I was breaking out all over my body when I was using Gain’s Midnight Breeze liquid detergent, but I loved the smell. Tried the Honeysuckle Mrs. Meyer’s laundry line and it got too expensive, so I only purchase the fabric softer on occasions when I want clothing or sheets to smell nicer. I don’t use fabric softener on my towels anymore. Please make sure your sink and sink area is clean and disinfected. I live with a bunch of family members and do not have the luxury to my own private bathroom. I have to make time to disinfect and clean the whole bathroom before using it. I don’t mind being responsible for its full upkeep; all this for my desired skin care routine results. Yes, this includes even cleaning and disinfecting the toilet because of its way of admitting bacteria into the air.
I literally only have pores on my nose. And it’s so hard to keep them clear. I always have black sebaceous filaments. It’s so annoying. This year I started oil masking with my oil cleanser. I leave it on for at least 5 min a day before cleansing it off. And I started incorporating some type of exfoliation to my routine. And lastly, I’ve adapted slugging. Both in the morning and night. I use the youthforia primer in the morning. I’ve noticed a significant difference in my nose pores. Hope this helps someone ❤
@@andreali4156 so I have dry skin. I use thicker consistency oils. I find that they mask better. You can pretty much do trial and error for what you prefer. PHAs are a good exfoliating choice for sensitive skin, it also comes with extra benefits like protecting your skins collagen and maintaining elasticity that AHA and BHA don't do. PHAs don't go as deep as other chemical exfoliants which is why it's considered non-irritating

@Ardenaut What enzyme cleanser did you get (and which Klairs cleansing oil?) and a month in what do you think? Do you use it at night as a double cleanse after the klairs cleansing oil? I’ve suffered from enlarged pores and sebaceous filaments my entire life and cannot find the right products.

Hi Tina, I recently bought the lion pair acne cream after I've seen you suggesting it couple of times and THANK YOU SO MUCH my skin has changed this cream was a magic ❤❤ I'm grateful for your honesty 😢
'Mediheal Watermide Toner pad' is currently my holy grail for my sensitive dry combo skin, keeps my skin well hydrated and makes it look and feel good! You can use it as a normal toner or a face mask. Totally recommend it it! 🙌🏻
I looked up almost all the products mentioned in this videos and most of them had pore clogging ingredients so if you have acne prone and sensitive skin like me I would be careful with these - the Japanese enzyme exfoliant has talc :(
I was freaking out because my face had taken a turn for the worse and many many videos later i found you and just the simple double deep clean step changed my face so much. Thank you 🥹

Omg tnx it's so helpful and you're so cute! İ loved your energy so much ❤ Just i wanna add one point, except our own excess face oil or our dead skin, changing our pillow cases daily is also really crucial. Since the bacteria is not only on our face but where our faces touches as well. My face was %50 healed just bc instead of 3-5 days of changing pillow sheets to daily changing them🎉
my night routine are : 1. oil cleansing (anua) 2. face wash ( cosrx) 3. serum (optional) 4. moisturizer i just use normal faace wash and moisturizer and i can see the result the key is you have to do it constanly. and be patient!! good luck!
I know enzyme cleanser pods are more gentle but what aha/bha toner or products does your bf use that’s been effective in cleaning up his t zone sebum production/black heads & combo skin as a whole?!? Your response to this question would be very much appreciated cause I trust your recommendations & your skin is the proof! There are just too many products out there & it’s overwhelming to pick.
Your video shows you cleaning with a clean face. How do you cleanse when removing make-up, including mascara? What are your steps? Do you use the cleaning oil first or something else to remove the make-up?
Where did you get that spray bottle from to rehydrate your face while cleansing for emulsification & do you suggest getting a separate one for toner application or just apply the toner directly onto skin with hands? Your content is amazing btw & I’ve been binge watching all your videos. I too have combo skin like your bf & your skin are goals! 🙌🏼 truly flawless glass skin. Thanks for all you do 🙏🏼
Wait, hydrating toners are recent? I'm from Eastern Europe and it was a thing in the 2000s (but so were the alcohol heavy ones 😬), I've been using them for ages! It really works on pores 🖤 i have very VERY oily skin (to the point where I have to take small dosages of accutane, I'm acne free, just SO OILY) and it doesn't affect the oiliness in any bad way, pretty much the opposite. (I still have to eat the tablets tho, but it's a me problem 😖)
Would love to see you do a review on Cos De Baha products. I have heard many good things about them but a bit hesitant to purchase.Eagerly waiting for your take on it.❤
Good news all skin types can use the enzyme cleanser according to skin therapists. It is a gentle cleansing gel that allows you to easily remove makeup and dirt. And ideal for hypersensitive, dry skin and for use after fruit acid peels.
I've heard that things like "steaming" your face by keeping head above a bowl of boiled water or by putting warm towel on your face can make pores permanently larger. Tbh I don't know if there is science behind this so if someone knows I would be happy to hear more about it. I guess that if this was true then saunas wouldn't be so popular.
The whole pores "opening" thing is a myth. We use hot towels and do facial steaming in salons to make the experience feel more luxurious (no one wants a cold towel on their face! Haha) ,but it doesn't do anything for your pores. The reason people think they "open" is because steam is water, so that makes your skin swollen and your pores seem bigger or more open right after, plus your skin is softer so again, it seems more pliable. Steaming can be quite harmful to the skin barrier and especially for someone suffering from hyperpigmentation or melasma, as heat can make those worse.
Hi! So when should I be cleansing my skin, before or after showering? I know a lot of people recommend washing your face AFTER showering, however I wear makeup pretty much every day, and would rather not shower with my makeup still on. Should I use a completely different makeup remover prior to showering and then cleanse afterwards?
While the comedogenic scale is simply a marketing term and not science based at all, coconut oil is usually not well tolerated by those with acne prone skin. People with dry skin tend to do well with it, so it depends on your skin type :)
I bought the suisai powder wash when I went to Japan, and didn't realize how powerful it was compared to other enzyme exfoliants I have used before😭. If I use it more than once a week I will break my skin barrier, but its rly good!!
Tinaaaaa! I ordered the Anua sunscreen because of your recent sunscreen vid and it feels amazing! I’m definitely ordering the toner now!! I also got the rovectin face wash because of you too and a few Japanese products as well. I hope you can do a video with more Anua and Abib products!
I’m not a big fan of the susai powder washes cause they felt too stripping for me, the isntree mugwort powder wash is a good one that doesn’t strip for me. One pack I can use 2-3 times
Hello mam, I have a question. Is oil cleansing effective for people with facial hair? I have facial hair and wanna try oil cleansing. Please guide me 🙏. Tysm for the informative content ❤
It depends on how much hair but if it's not a lot you should definitely clean over it too. I found that certain skincare products cause parts of my beard to start turning white so I avoid most skincare products on them. The change isn't permanent as the hair grows back it's natural color but most cleansers that aren't meant for acne shouldn't cause this to happen
Hi Tina ! Thanks so much for your amazing video ~ a bit unrelated but would you know if any of these toner/products you've mentioned have "lightening" effect? As a person of color I'm wary of when these products advertise a "brightening" effect because it's often unclear if the effect is just in appearance or actually makes a point to lighten skin tone ( bleaching). Thanks again so much for your informative and fun videos !! 💜
Personally I throw out that Anua cleansing oil. Very strong parfume scent and made my pores bigger. Banila co cleansing balm is much better and gentler.
Hello tina! I was wondering something regarding the enzyme cleansers, if you do deep cleansing with a oil cleanser would it better to complement with a chemical exfoliant (like a toner or serum) to keep pores on check or an enzyme cleanser? I feel like using the three of them on my routine it's out of my budget and it could be a bit much for my skin to handle. Thank you in advance ^^
The anua cleansing oil broke me out, and i dont have sensitive skin. I wonder if I was allergic to something in it? I'm still dealing with deep closed comedones after using it twice.
OMG I've been using oil and enzyme cleansers for half a year but the pores on my nose never went away 😭 I know that they will reappear eventually after but what I mean is I've never got to experience a day with my nose being clean and smooth, not even just for a couple of hours. I even tried BHA (a weak one though) and clay mask on it but nothing changed T^T It makes me feel like I'm doing it wrong but IDK which part is wrong 😭 I'm so frustrated
Pores are genetic, sadly. Some people can make them cleaner, thus making them APPEAR smaller, but they would never go away. Especially if genetically you are prone to producing more oil, it's bound to mix with the outside debris and pollution and settle in the pores. Oil cleansers can make this worse, so be careful. Have you tried niacinamide and salicylic acid? Sal acid works inside your pores to break down excessive oily gunk.
Omg so I’ve never done oil cleansing before I would just use pore strips on my nose area lol and after doing it for the first time it’s the only thing that made the pores on my nose much clearer better then pore strips! this is a game changer for my skin care routine
Hi. Can you do a video on your top enzyme cleansing powder? I’m currently using amore pacific and it’s pretty pricey. Would love to find something half the price or less.

Just i wanna add one point, except our own excess face oil or our dead skin, changing our pillow cases daily is also really crucial. Since the bacteria is not only on our face but where our faces touches as well. My face was %50 healed just bc instead of 3-5 days of changing pillow sheets to daily changing them🎉
Great content as always! I really learned a lot. Looking forward to your next video!
my night routine are :
1. oil cleansing (anua)
2. face wash ( cosrx)
3. serum (optional)
4. moisturizer
i just use normal faace wash and moisturizer and i can see the result
the key is you have to do it constanly. and be patient!!
good luck!
Exactly what i needed as i was looking at my nose in the mirror the other day.😊
i wish i had access to all of these brands, these products look amazing.
Thanks for all you do 🙏🏼
Uw make up en uw karakter passen echt bij elkaar zo mooi
Wait, hydrating toners are recent? I'm from Eastern Europe and it was a thing in the 2000s (but so were the alcohol heavy ones 😬), I've been using them for ages! It really works on pores 🖤 i have very VERY oily skin (to the point where I have to take small dosages of accutane, I'm acne free, just SO OILY) and it doesn't affect the oiliness in any bad way, pretty much the opposite. (I still have to eat the tablets tho, but it's a me problem 😖)
First time watching Tina’s content and subscribed right away❤ I really enjoyed learning more about pore care with Tina😊
Saaaame
I’m so glad I found your channel cos I really love J-beauty! They’re still a bit niche compared to K-beauty.
wow this was actually really helpful
Would love to see you do a review on Cos De Baha products. I have heard many good things about them but a bit hesitant to purchase.Eagerly waiting for your take on it.❤
Please make a video on managing sebaceous filaments
I just found your channel, you talk so beautifully
Good news all skin types can use the enzyme cleanser according to skin therapists. It is a gentle cleansing gel that allows you to easily remove makeup and dirt. And ideal for hypersensitive, dry skin and for use after fruit acid peels.
I remember the day I left you a comment to check you had hit a million views I was so happy for you U
Some of my pores ended up being a type of face hair on my nose, so nose strips also helped
I like using the Tony molt enzyme powder mixed in with my cleanser. I can use it everyday that way :)
I’m glad you being TH-camr helping all people with problems skin! 😻🇺🇸
Watching from Philippines🤗thank you for making this video🎉👍very helpful
Super useful tips! Thank you ❤❤
Interesting and helpful video, will give this a try on my skin
You’re so pretty!
i was considering buying the anua cleansing oil to reduce my clogged pores and finally found someone talking about the experience with it! thank you!😊
Tony Moly has a Rice powder exfoliant as well .... I plan on repurchasing it myself 😊
@@vegan_guac thank you for your answer
@@polinka5621 you're very welcome 🤗
Hi Tina! Can you do a video about Japanese skin care devices?
Hi! So when should I be cleansing my skin, before or after showering? I know a lot of people recommend washing your face AFTER showering, however I wear makeup pretty much every day, and would rather not shower with my makeup still on. Should I use a completely different makeup remover prior to showering and then cleanse afterwards?
The video I been needingggg!!
I love ANUA 🤩🤩
You mentioned coconut oil, is that one that is common to clog pores or a common oil to use as a cleanser. Thanks for the clarification :)
Coconut oil is pretty high on the comedogenic list and is pretty pore-clogging!
Thanks for this! Would you prefer Anua or round labs? Trying to pick out a brand to make a routine with
I’m not a big fan of the susai powder washes cause they felt too stripping for me, the isntree mugwort powder wash is a good one that doesn’t strip for me. One pack I can use 2-3 times
love this video! Can you sahre your airshot routine? do you use BHA AHA after?
loved your video, very excited to try the products
you should try the Kiwi device it sucks blackheads so easily, aside from it being more healthy for your skin its also kinda satisfying ahha
Yo fam, Alektrona Serum is the best! My skin is looking bright and even-toned, loving the results 🌿💖
I love your lipstick color ? Could you please share the brand and color ? Thank you
As a Japanese person the way she just flawlessly popped out fluent Japanese 😮😮😮
she’s half japanese lmao
OMG I've been using oil and enzyme cleansers for half a year but the pores on my nose never went away 😭 I know that they will reappear eventually after but what I mean is I've never got to experience a day with my nose being clean and smooth, not even just for a couple of hours. I even tried BHA (a weak one though) and clay mask on it but nothing changed T^T It makes me feel like I'm doing it wrong but IDK which part is wrong 😭 I'm so frustrated
You can try using blotting paper
No chemicals can get rid of the oil
We need to work on the source...like changing diet and drinking more water
@@chakichan_uwu I see 😔 I really need to change my sleep schedule and diet
@@princejellyfish same :(
Pores are genetic, sadly.
So what are the ingredients i should be looking for when using deep cleansing oil?
Omg so I’ve never done oil cleansing before I would just use pore strips on my nose area lol and after doing it for the first time it’s the only thing that made the pores on my nose much clearer better then pore strips! this is a game changer for my skin care routine
Really?
Man istg my pores became huge after using these strips.
Can't wait to try oil cleansing
Does my face has to be make up free and washed with soap before using the oil cleanser ?
i was wondering if you could do an update on the time reset aqua? how do you like it so far?
Thank you, Tina~!!! 💗💗💗
Hi. Can you do a video on your top enzyme cleansing powder? I’m currently using amore pacific and it’s pretty pricey. Would love to find something half the price or less.
any tips for good hair growth after head shaving
