REMEDY for Dark Spots is now here: remedyskin.com/products/dark-spots I can't wait to hear everyone's feedback and see your results! This has been my dream, thank you all so much for giving me the platform to be able to launch this
Yah I’d love to see EU Alternatives.. so often products you show it’s hard to find a similar product here in Denmark. Even chemical sunscreen are hard to come by.. release your product worldwide
Just ordered mine! Can’t wait to see at work. I only have a couple of small dark spots even though I’m 62. I’ve always tried to take care of my skin. Best of luck with your new products.❤
That's a big routine with too many products. You can remove 1-3 in your morning routine with just Kojic Acid soap by Skinlyte. It is a cleanser, has vitamin C and Kojic Acid which is a dark spot remover that can be used also as a mask or serum. Then apply the sunscreen. 2 step process. At night, you can cleanse again with the Kojic Acid soap and then apply again as a night time leave in serum overnight. Just 1 step.
One thing that worked for my skin and made it glow was following a good skincare routine. I keep my skin hydrated by staying well hydrated every day. I wash my face twice a day, both morning and night. I use the very gentle riceberry face wash only. After washing, I apply rice berry vitamin c face serum by littleexttra. When I go outside, I always apply sunscreen. Just following these things made a big difference in just 3 months. I hope this can help someone else who is looking to improve their skin texture.
Applying riceberry vitamin c face serum and sunscreen into my routine has changed my skincare routine. It made my skin smooth and radiant in no time. The serum stands out as an excellent choice due to its long-lasting advantages, quick absorption, and light aroma. I strongly recommend this serum.
@@horrorhighlights9746 when you're taking a break from hydroquinone you should also refrain from using alpha arbutin lest you suffer the negative consequences. The whole point is to avoid said consequences and it'd defy the purpose of taking a break if you continue using AA.
This video is a gem! So much useful information. I normally avoid promoting things, but I have to share the subliminal affirmations for acne on Borlest with you. They can truly heal your skin. All the best to everyone.
Black guy here with pecan brown skin: tinted anything with zinc oxide is a non-starter. I've been using sunscreen daily for 12 years and I've only missed about 5 days during this time--each of them I've been indoors the entire day. I have NEVER found a tinted sunscreen that doesn't make me look like a complete freak. I don't care how "invisible" it's supposed to be. Apparently "invisible" is only or lighter skin tones. My skin will reveal that mess with no delay. I use SPF30 or higher with antioxidants, but will never use tinted.
Bru's the struggle is real. The tinted mineral sunscreen from All Good (sold at Target and online) works. It's very drying so I have to use a moisturizer first. Then I apply a powder.
I don't see the need to block visible light with the tint. Visible red and IR light is good for dark spots. That's why red light therapy is so popular.
I have very dark skin and I use UNTINTED because the colors are typically horrible on dark skin. I loved the Equate clear sunscreen...I think it was SPF 50 in a big brown tube. I also love Mary Kay's daytime defender SPF 30 and the newly released sunscreen too. I have a relative who loves Black Girl Sunscreen. We also like clear sunscreen SPF 50 that's formulated for babies. I hope this helps someone.
This was the BEST DARK SPOT VIDEO EVER! You included darker skin tones like me! I didn’t know about the alpha Arbutin Hydroquinone connection. I know how to put all my products together now. Thank you!
Instead of Arbutin, go for Kojic Acid which is more popular. Go for natural Skinlyte brand. Valitic brand has synthetic dyes and fragrance that may hide Phthalates. It will cause inflammation and irritation that leads to more hyperpigmentation. Go for an all natural one by Skinlyte. You can even use it as a leave in mask or a spot treatment without rinsing off. Do that only if the ingredients of the soap is all natural.
I hope you'll consider doing a detailed video covering the in-office procedures you recommend for hyperpigmentation. I'd like to be able to make an informed decision before I go that route, and I can then discuss it with my dermatologist. Do we look for the dermatologist first, or a specific procedure? There are so many options now, and I find it overwhelming!
Thanks for the video, I subscribed immediately after watching! 😊 I’m 52, fair skinned with melasma and have been on oral Tranexamic Acid for 2 weeks - already seeing results! Previously I’d been on hydroquinone 4%, azelaic acid 20%, arbutase 6% and otc Skinceuticals Vit C (and of course tinted sunscreen). My melasma lightened significantly to the extent I was comfortable without foundation 🎉 but after a year of those prescription topicals which were compounded with steroids, my skin was thinning. With oral TA, my skin can now rest a little :) Look forward to trying your new product!
I’m hoping that you keep folks with ultra sensitive skin in mind. I suffer with Rosacea. And sensitive skin. EVERYTHING irritates my skin. This leaving me with hyperpigmentation. I hope you keep us folks in mind with your products.

Best doctors on TH-cam I already signed up on Skinpedia and hope to get something from the shop soon .thank you so much from a person who started experiencing dark spots I was going crazy especially with my skin tone so dark spots are not pretty ...But you two have made my life complete with your videos
I have dark skin and have struggled with dark spots of all kinds my whole life. I AM just now wanting to make a change to improve their appearance. The dark spots occur all over my body. I went to a dermatologist who told me there was nothing I could do for it. And then just abruptly ended the appointment. 🙄 I knew she was wrong the second she said that. So grateful for your channel!!!! Seriously!
Omg I literally had this happen to me too. I went to a derm for my face hyperpigmentation and he told me he couldn’t do anything for me and that I’ll basically have to learn to comauflage it with a skin therapist help😢
These dermatologists must be British or have a British qualification. “Nothing you can do about it” is a common term these chaps use from what I hear. Useless overrated Brits.
I JUST went to a derm as well and got nothing from it!! I was so mad! Idk if your doctor was melanated but mine wasn’t and it made me feel like people who are not won’t understand people with melanated skin skin issues because some things show up differently for us than others.
Wow! Nicely done. Dr. Shaw, we will be eagerly awaiting the launch of your product line. I have shared your videos with many, many people and all have become fans of yours. You make a great and highly educational team. Thank you for all the great information.
this channel and my dermatologist have changed my skin. i’m glad to have a perfect routine before the age of 30. My skin has changed over the years since following you guys. as i started watching yall when i was early 20s and i just turned 27.
I tried every product under the sun (pun intended) to fade my hyper pigmentation that formed during pregnancy. Nothing worked until I started doing advanced IPL treatments. I am not sure if you cover these treatments on here but I def think they're amazing and also interesting! Regular IPL improved my skin in general but advanced zapped my pigment, it rose to the surface and flaked away and it's like I have nothing there anymore. I get it done twice a year because as mine seems to be hormonal is does come back. I could get away with once a year, it would just be pretty visible by the year end. It is really shocking through just how well it works, and I was spending loads of products and not seeing anything near as dramatic after years of using them. For me it was worth the $$. I am canadian and it was 300$ a treatment and needed 3 in total, spanned out between 4-6 weeks each. I was able to do mine during a promotion and get 50% off each treatment, so 150$ cad.
I’m happy to say that I was following your pyramid long before because of information I got from you two in other videos. You made it easy to put the puzzle together.
So glad you have covered this topic. I'm in Ireland and I start to use SPF factor 50 from March until October. I love this channel! Great, relevant advice always given honestly! :)
You guys' beard cut this time is like TOP. Just awesome, Especially dr. Maxfield's. It's just soo well suited to your face shape. One of the best cut i have seen
Omg @Doctorly I can’t wait to try this!!! I Just ordered. I am African-American and have really bad melasma around my upper lip….it’s so embarrassing and a really huge blow to my self esteem. I have tried a couple of the companies out there like Cureology and Musely, but the melasma returns with a vengeance!!!! I am so sad at times about it, and was looking around for reliable treatments and I happened upon your video about the stages of treatment and your new product at a time when I was losing hope. I love your videos and pray this works for my skin!
Drs. Can we pleaseeeee insert some photos of those with actual darkskin. African, African American, Caribbean, Afro Latin, Indian. It's 2024 let's rewrite these medical books so when we decide to go seek help we aren't being dismissed because things aren't recognizable on Dark Skin.
@@Period-mw8fw Don't use a mineral based sunscreen. Most of them leave a white cast. Supergoop sunscreen is a invisible sunscreen, it literally melts on to the screen. There is NO white cast, and kind of acts like a primer, in that it takes away shine and sort of shrinks pores. Its expensive. But an excellent dupe is Trader Joes sunscreen in the tan colored box. Hope this helps!

@@revenge217 Hi, thank you for the response. Another question, is the skin condition you’re trying to fix more on the Melasma side, so larger patch(es) of dark spot(s) or another type of hyperpigmention? Also, if i use those 3 products, would it be realistic for me to reduce hyperpigmentation within 1-2 months?
@@Doctorly Good morning 😃 I have a lot of ingredients that I use is there a way I could forward them and you can show me what’s double dipping or not necessary and perhaps even try your products?

Hi does Faded topicals cream works for you? What skin type are you? Do you know if this cream will be suitable for medium or VI skin type? I was thinking about hydroquinone to treat my post inflammatory hypopigmentation on my upper arm (due to skin injury from lasers) but some ppl said it could worsen the pigmentation for medium-dark skinned people
@@Anne7_ hydroquinone would definitely be quicker but I like faded because it also has a ton of other actives that are really good for brightening the skin.
Excellent video, detailed and with a piramid, good visual! Congrats to Dr.Shah for Remedy. You both are my go-to online dermatologists for advice I trust and follow, thank you
Omg! I am so excited!!! Skincare nerd, estechian here 👋🏼 I have melasma. Its pretty much under control now. I apply sunscreen religiously. After a lot of trail and errors I am now using a chemical sunscreen with and high ppd rating. And then I go over with an tinted mineral sunscreen. I am so excited to try remedy. It will be absolutely perfect to pair with my Pigmanorm(triloma) when I am on my off months. I have been looking a long time for something like that🎉 😍
Thank you! I suffer from Melasma & PIH. Been using these products but it’s a bit overwhelming. Just had laser treatment and just started your Dark spot treatment. Very excited to see results.
Try Australian Gold tinted mineral sunscreen. Also Elta MD tinted mineral sunscreen which is available in several shaded. I am very fair so have had to try a few before I found one that suits me in addition to not being shiny, which I can't stand. I use matte products when I can find them. There are several others I can't remember offhand but google tinted sunscreen and you'll find several others..
This was THE CLEAREST most straight forward and thorough video on melasma etc. I have ever watched. Thank you so much!! And you didn't make it feel hard or hard to treat.
Can we get products that are 100% cruelty-free? I don’t feel comfortable investing in products that I know experiment on Beagles and other voiceless animals for the sake of “beauty”.
For me, Ordinary's Niacidnamide and Zinc has changed my life!! I use it morning and night and it not only helped with my pigmentation but smoothed out my skin! I love it!!

YESS ! I was looking for a list of ingredients corresponding each step of the hyperpigmentation pathway. Thanks !! Also because the formulation of a product is everything, thanks for the specific products recommandations ! !
My dermatologist put me on hydroquinone for 5 years straight. Can you believe that? It wasn't until I happened to come across an article about only using it for 3 months at a time that I weaned myself off it. Luckily I didn't have any rebound pigmentation. But I won't ever see the derm ever again.

I have embraced the power of the Pyramid.I am here to tell you all…it works. I had really dark mylasma on my lower cheeks and following these rules has almost wiped it out. Tinted spf 50 sunscreen in the day . Tretinoin .50 and MaeLove Fade away at night. I rest that routine on Sunday and let my skin barrier get “slugged” 😂 I use an SA WASH 2 times a week in the mornings leave on for 3 minutes then rinse. I am 57 and now have “glass” skin. I will also tell you I was diagnosed with PsA. I take prescription medicine for that as well that I believe has help my inflammation and rosacea. My dermatologist tells all his student docs I am his favorite patient because I have lots of questions and LISTEN to all his medical advise which in turn gets me the results I wanted. I am also very realistic about my expectations… ❤❤❤
I remember when I discovered your channel. Many people thought you guys were in a relationship 😂 Anyway, big fan! Thanks for your videos. I use many of your recommendations :)
This definitely my most researched skin issue I have. Thank you do much for breaking everything down and explaining how to treat melasma. You guys are the best.
None of the sunscreens mentioned are available in Australia 🇦🇺 they don’t meet our strict standards for protection. Skin cancer is our most prolific cancer so there are a lot of regulations on sunscreen here.
La Roche Posey - absolute fabulous. Does not cause breakouts, it’s 50+. It is more expensive but a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it for 30 years and I have very little damage, or wrinkles!
I am super late to this video you guys are amazing! My dermatologist prescribed me an amazing Tretinonin (0.025%), Niacinamide (2%), Adelaide acid (8%) combo topical. One 30g bottle of that has lasted me 3.5 months! $45 with insurance. Has helped me so much with my post acne scarring, dark spots from acne, and helps my acne lol. She also has me on Spironolactone to help with those deep pimples.
Great video as always. Question: when discussing exfoliation you said to leave it on all night and then moisturize after. Should you moisturize immediately after applying the exfoliator, or the morning after?
Wow. This is my first time meeting you guys here and seeing how transparent y'all are, I am here to stay & follow. This makes me want to definitely purchase your products as well. Thank you for sharing this knowledge. Blessings to the two of you ❤

Best doctors on TH-cam I already signed up on Skinpedia and hope to get something from the shop soon .thank you so much from a person who started experiencing dark spots I was going crazy especially with my skin tone so dark spots are not pretty ...But you two have made my life complete with your videos
Omggggg new product alert!! Congratulations Dr. Shaw! 🎉❤
@@TheCRYSTALLURE mine wasn’t melanated either🤦🏾♀️

Wow! Nicely done. Dr. Shaw, we will be eagerly awaiting the launch of your product line. I have shared your videos with many, many people and all have become fans of yours. You make a great and highly educational team. Thank you for all the great information.
Great video! Very enlightening. I'm African American with hyperpigmentaion. This helps me more than you know. Thanks!

So excited for your product!!! Hoping it will be accessible to Canadians as well. Love you two!
this channel and my dermatologist have changed my skin. i’m glad to have a perfect routine before the age of 30. My skin has changed over the years since following you guys. as i started watching yall when i was early 20s and i just turned 27.
I love your videos! I hope Remedy Skin launches a face and body hyperpigmentation product!
I was able to do mine during a promotion and get 50% off each treatment, so 150$ cad.
so incredibly excited for this dark spot product. brands that focus on hyperpigmentation have a special place in my heart!!!
Castor oil... Organic cold pressed Castor oil. Best for dark spots, wrinkles, inflammation and constipation

Bought the remedy for dark spots loving how it works and how it simplified my skincare routine
Ramadan mubarak Dr Shah ❤
Ramadan mubarak!!!
Ramadan Kareem🪷
Honestly the best source of information I've ever seen on this topic, and I've been searching this for years
You guys' beard cut this time is like TOP.
Which cream r u using for melasma
Well said!!!
Thank you!!
Yea cus when he said darker skin should use a tinted sunscreen I’m like no those always make me look ashy 😢
I bought the Remedy for dark spots. Used it faithfully everyday- no results; save your money.
How long did you use it for?
I used it until the bottle was empty.

Just placed my order 😊I'm so excited.. for this .. can't wait to see my results..
You guys have the best way of delivering detailed information in a succinct and interesting way. Love your videos!

This is most comprehensive, easy to understand list for "dark spots" I've *ever* seen.
So nice to see you two, missed you guys.
welcome back :) we missed you too!
Same I missed my favourite Dermatologists including mine from Canada 🇨🇦 Dr. Cowger Hi Dr. Shah and Dr. Maxfield 🤗🩷👐🏼🧴👋 @Doctorly
@@Doctorly Good morning 😃
I have a lot of ingredients that I use is there a way I could forward them and you can show me what’s double dipping or not necessary and perhaps even try your products?
I gotta thank you guys for everything, I kinda just watched your guys videos on repeat and took all the advice you gave. That was about 2 years ago now I think and man they way my face looks now shocks me every time I look at my skin it’s so clear and it just reflects light without much effort now lol. And a plus I get called handsome pretty much everyday now it’s boosted my confidence so much having clear skin so thank you for all the information you give seriously. You guys have even made me want to purse becoming a dermatologist you made it interesting to learn about but more importantly FUN. I look forward to learning more from you two in the future.
I just love this Duo they have educated so much during the 2 years that i have been subscribing this channel 😊❤
I highly HIGHLY recommend Faded Topicals!
@@jojomakes thanks so much for your explanation, I can’t wait to try it!

Gracias gracias gracias. I deal with hyperpigmentation. So exited for Remedy🎉
Excellent video, detailed and with a piramid, good visual! Congrats to Dr.Shah for Remedy. You both are my go-to online dermatologists for advice I trust and follow, thank you
Thank you so much! 🎉I have waited so long for you to complete this video.
I have been looking a long time for something like that🎉 😍
Loved the pictorial representation through the pyramid! Thanks to Dr. Shah and Dr. Maxfield for this amazing video ❤
Thank you! I suffer from Melasma & PIH. Been using these products but it’s a bit overwhelming. Just had laser treatment and just started your Dark spot treatment. Very excited to see results.
I can’t wait to try your products! I wish more companies would make a lighter color of tinted SPF
I agree. Tinted sunscreens are too dark for my fair skin.
Agreed.
There are videos on TH-cam of people trying tinted sunscreen which leave them looking like Casper. 😂 Maybe try the ones that didn't work for them.
@@smallpackage8360 I don't think so. It ain't the first comment I read about people whom struggle to find very light shade. The struggles is real !
This was THE CLEAREST most straight forward and thorough video on melasma etc. I have ever watched. Thank you so much!! And you didn't make it feel hard or hard to treat.
I think Dr. Maxfield was on the verge of strangling Dr. Shah in this video. 😂 Thank you, Gentlemen.
It took us an hour and half to shoot this episode with Dr. Shah being obsessive about getting all the diagrams in there haha

As an ED nurse, imagine my surprise when you mentioned TXA! I've definitely used this but had no Idea that pigmentation was an off label use.
YESS ! I was looking for a list of ingredients corresponding each step of the hyperpigmentation pathway. Thanks !!
Also because the formulation of a product is everything, thanks for the specific products recommandations ! !
So much great information for normal people! Thanks so much for sharing Dr. M&S! I have been spreading about you two's IG and TH-cam info session.
My dermatologist put me on hydroquinone for 5 years straight. Can you believe that? It wasn't until I happened to come across an article about only using it for 3 months at a time that I weaned myself off it. Luckily I didn't have any rebound pigmentation. But I won't ever see the derm ever again.
Just don’t see THAT derm and do more research when finding one. I’ve come across some bad apples too. Good luck!
Thank you guys so much for all the information and making it ingestible for the laymen like me ❤️

May I know how long it took for your melasma to fade completely following these?
I remember when I discovered your channel. Many people thought you guys were in a relationship 😂
Anyway, big fan! Thanks for your videos. I use many of your recommendations :)

Well, looks like you just launched! Huge congratulations!!!
Yes!!! I bought it! Remedy for dark spots!!! Excited to try it! I threw in the lip balm. 💋
None of the sunscreens mentioned are available in Australia 🇦🇺 they don’t meet our strict standards for protection. Skin cancer is our most prolific cancer so there are a lot of regulations on sunscreen here.
FACTS
But we have amazing sunscreens…..I only use Australian sunscreens, Ultraviolette Lean Screen is my absolute ride or die facial sunscreen
All Good sunblock products are reef approved, chemical free and they are affordable. I hope you find something you'll like.
Good to see you both! 👏
Idk how Dr Shah did this video knowing his skincare Remedy was launching in 3 days. It must've been so hard to wait, but so worth it!
