Have you tried Vanicream? They have a very minimal ingredient list (from what I remember!) and might be good for you. Personally, I find them too gentle, but they might be good for your reactive skin!
Since LA Roche-Posay changed a bit the formula of the cicaplast Balm B5, I dislike it. The first version had less panthenol and other less few stuff in it. But since 2022 it became too loaded, heavy almost like a soft wax when the old version was feeling just like a thick cream, easier to blend and was NOT breaking me out. I did switch for the Avène balm one but it leaves me too shiny like vaseline which I hate even tho it does a great job healing too so I use rarely, just for skin emergencies.
Initially, that Cerave cleanser worked for me but after a few months it started burning. Not sure what happened, but I found that Vanicream's Gentle Cleanser is perfect! I recently started washing my face with Cerave's Baby Wash & Shampoo, that works too. The cicaplast broke me the hell out and gave me flaky skin 😢 I like Ponds Crema S, it's so gentle and moisturizing. If I have dry spots, I use a light layer of Polysporin on top! And that's it for my nighttime routine 😊 In the AM, I use Elf's Holy Hydration Cream under makeup. It doesn't pill or irritate me, and it's not too rich or drying. For acne, I like Cerave's Acne Control Gel 😊
My problem is these gentle clensers don't fully remove the oils and i always break out more, even when i use one for oily skin. Then i always turn back to a harsher facewash 😩 Edit: Guys I've tried a new technique, i continued using the "harsh" facewash, but then i make sure to use a hydrating toner and a non comedogenic+barrier repairing light moisturizer, and don't use any extra actives because usually harsh facewash has Salicylic so it's more than enough. My acne hasn't been completely removed but it got a little better
@@Joyloy126 no problem is I'm breaking out in the cheeks, when I'm using these gentle facewash for oily/combi skin. And when i use harsher ones, it's too drying it makes my cheeks irritated

Thanks for this video! I'll definitely try this routine. My skin is always very dry, but it's also very reactive to any skincare product. The only ones that appear to not react are some very light korean skincare gel or creams, but I feel it's still dry after it. Anything else burns or makes my skin react. Something that I've also noticed is my skin is better with less products in my routine, and also with products that doesn't have many ingredients.
Very useful video. When my skin is irritated and the barrier is weakened, the cleansing gel from CeraVe worked for me, then the toner from Anua Heartleaf 77, with Centella Asiatica Ampoule from Skin1004, and as a cream, the lotion from Anua Heartleaf 70 in the morning, and a cream from Atopalm for dry and sensitive skin at night. Recently I added the rice extract toner from Beauty of Joseon and I can see that my skin liked it. My skin is basically mixed, but severely dehydrated in the T zone and reactive to everything that I put on. This is my morning and evening routine. I only use SPF in my foundation unfortunately, because I'm allergic to SPF ingredients. Other things I avoid are spicy foods. It exacerbates my skin's reactivity. Or be too cold or too hot.
Great video, Tina! I was convinced you were going to mention using the I'm from Mugwort Essence as a calming toner and the klairs midnight blue calming cream! Both of which I personally love and keep back ups for when my skin gets upset at me 😂 Oh, and I LOVE your makeup in this video. So pretty 😍
Hey! Any alternative for the la roche posay cica balm? I’ve used it, it healed my extremely sensitive skin, but than i learned that it is not cruelty free and i do not feel comfortable purchasing it again. Searching an alternative for more than a year now. Thanks 🙏 😊
The Cicaplast Balm never fails me when my skin is irritated. Oftentimes in the winter, I'll add a pea-sized amount to my regular moisturizer just to prevent irritation from the dry air and cold.
This is very helpful I have been looking for ceramides creams and so far I don’t like the texture of them. Your lighting in the bathroom is good, don’t worry about it. I do love the cicaplast cream, I tried the gel and didn’t like, the serum works well for summer.
I love my Curel!!! I discovered it in Singapore and bought a bottle of Moisture Facial Milk. I seriously think it's the reason why suddenly my skin is baby soft and happy. It's good to hear that they have other fab products :)
Cortisone makes my face skin thinning and my skin became very sensitive, even several months passed,my skin still so sensitive, always red.😳I can’t use any soap or cream except aloe Vera gel.
Loved this video, Tina! Just a few tips to add from a lifelong eczema sufferer: - Haircare products can also be irritating to your face and neck. - Pinning up bangs, wearing contact lenses instead of eyeglasses, and avoiding jewelry during a flare up also helps. - Other helpful ingredients include oatmeal and hypochlorous acid spray like the ones from Tower 28 and Prequel. - If you can’t see a Dermatologist, you can get a prescription from your regular doctor or at an Urgent Care or Walk-In Clinic. ❤
Yes choosing a suitable hair care I found can help my face too. Good tips. I keep going back to Aveeno for my face though my dermatitis isn't healed in tempted to try probiotics to help from the inside.
I wonder if the excessive skin care and constant change and try out of products that causes skin barrier issues at so many people. The rise of new products and testing those is probably the root in many cases.
Gentle, non foaming cleansers sometimes don’t remove all the sweat and oil from my face. It’s hot and humid where I’m from and I revert to foaming and harsh cleanser. Please drop suggestions for gentle foaming cleansers that are affordable and easily accessible. From India.
For someone with dry skin, cleansing, moisturizer and layering if off with the good old Vaseline has proven to heal the barrier quicker. Just change your pillow cover more often, daily if possible while using this routine.
Hi Tina! I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I always enjoy them! This happened to me a few months ago, but I couldn't understand what was happening at first. I had red marks, a bumpy texture, and black "dots" on my neck (which, doing research, were filaments sebaceous). I still think it was an allergic reaction to niacinamide 😖 I went to the pharmacy and bought Cerave SA smooth cleanser, Bioderma Cicabio Creme Soothing Repairing, which I used until I completely healed. I am allergic to these ingredients and it hurts my skin so bad if i put it on... And I still have to take care of it because it flares up sooo often.
I only cleanse at night to remove makeup and I just wash my face well with warm water in the morning just to remove any oils produced during my sleep. I never had any reactions to anything my whole life, I’m almost 50, that’s because my skincare is very minimal so the less the better in my opinion.

I did switch for the Avène balm one but it leaves me too shiny like vaseline which I hate even tho it does a great job healing too so I use rarely, just for skin emergencies.
my sister also switched to the avène, but i wouldn't use it bc the first 3 ingredients are water, alkanes and mineral oil..
@@amandak.4246nothing wrong with water, alkanes and mineral oil.
Then i always turn back to a harsher facewash 😩
Edit: Guys I've tried a new technique, i continued using the "harsh" facewash, but then i make sure to use a hydrating toner and a non comedogenic+barrier repairing light moisturizer, and don't use any extra actives because usually harsh facewash has Salicylic so it's more than enough. My acne hasn't been completely removed but it got a little better
I feel that way too. Please share suggestions
you can cleanse the t zone or your oily areas using the harsher cleanser, and wash the sensitive areas with a gentle cleanser
@@Joyloy126 no problem is I'm breaking out in the cheeks, when I'm using these gentle facewash for oily/combi skin. And when i use harsher ones, it's too drying it makes my cheeks irritated
Sameee😭😭
I wonder if you can mix the gentle and the harsh cleanser in your hand first, just so you can have more moisture.
I was shock for second when I saw your thumbnail. Cause you are looking like very famous and pretty Pakistani actress hania Amir. I think it's only me who think that 😅
Nah man, I feel same. She's Hania Amir's japanese twin
Exactly.
They are similar ❤.
Omg sameeeee I was literally thinking the same thing!
And. Uzbek actress Asal Shodieva looks like too 😅
I feel the same 😂
When I damaged my skin barrier, I used Rovectin cleanser and Rovectin Cica Balm. I don’t remember how long it took to heal my skin, but these products helped 😊.
Arigatoo Tina! This was such a helpful video with practical, common-sense advice!
your makeup always eatttts Tina!!!! Love your videos sm🧡
The aveeno does a similar cleanser that’s more gentle if the cerave burns anyone! :)
Great video, Tina! I was convinced you were going to mention using the I'm from Mugwort Essence as a calming toner and the klairs midnight blue calming cream! Both of which I personally love and keep back ups for when my skin gets upset at me 😂
Oh, and I LOVE your makeup in this video. So pretty 😍
haha I still ADORE them but tend to use them on 'minor irritation' days - but I always have back ups of them too 😍😍
Hey! Any alternative for the la roche posay cica balm? I’ve used it, it healed my extremely sensitive skin, but than i learned that it is not cruelty free and i do not feel comfortable purchasing it again. Searching an alternative for more than a year now. Thanks 🙏 😊
Hi, maybe this will help: Pyunkang Yul ATO panthenol ceramide balm cream
@@ILYATRAGERthank you! I will try it 🙏
Really love the way you showed real skin
I always have at least 3 tubes of them at home
Avene Cicalfate is similar
The Cicaplast Balm never fails me when my skin is irritated. Oftentimes in the winter, I'll add a pea-sized amount to my regular moisturizer just to prevent irritation from the dry air and cold.
I also use small amount like a spot treatment too 😆
@@TinaTanakaHarris It just works so well, I haven't found an exact dupe for it. It's worth the price!
It's good to hear that they have other fab products :)
curel is legit sooooo good - I am slowly making my way through their product line haha
I am in Australia also and I'm too scared to look for their products here (I might get hooked 😳)
I really needed this right now 🎉
GURLLLLLLL, I NEEDED THISSSSSSSSS
100% agree!!❤ Zinc oxide and cortisone are the stars
Cortisone is bad
Cortisone makes my face skin thinning and my skin became very sensitive, even several months passed,my skin still so sensitive, always red.😳I can’t use any soap or cream except aloe Vera gel.
dear, your makeup is so beautiful!!
this is exactly what i need rn, thanks tina!
Watching this just made me think my skin is always slightly irritated 🤣 maybe I should try some of these things for a bit and see how that goes
She kept talking about the texture on her skin like girl you should see my skin 💀
Loved this video, Tina!
Just a few tips to add from a lifelong eczema sufferer:
- Haircare products can also be irritating to your face and neck.
❤
ooo these are such good tips thank you!! 💞💞
Yes choosing a suitable hair care I found can help my face too. Good tips.
I keep going back to Aveeno for my face though my dermatitis isn't healed in tempted to try probiotics to help from the inside.
The PCalm Cato lotion really worked for me! As well as Pair whenever I get bit of breakouts
But how did the blackheads on your nose and cheeks disappear so quickly?
She looks like hania amir😭😭
IKRRR
Yesss
She does
Yep
😢
Just what I needed ❤ Thanks Tina 😊
I wonder if the excessive skin care and constant change and try out of products that causes skin barrier issues at so many people. The rise of new products and testing those is probably the root in many cases.
oh 100% - I know that definitely part of the cause for me 😅😅
What sucks is if you get the curel mist in the US you know it’s not the same one that is sold in Japan 😭
Gentle, non foaming cleansers sometimes don’t remove all the sweat and oil from my face. It’s hot and humid where I’m from and I revert to foaming and harsh cleanser. Please drop suggestions for gentle foaming cleansers that are affordable and easily accessible. From India.
I really like the Dr.Jart Dermaclear Micro Foam Cleanser
Is it just me or she actually looks like Hania Amir?????????
yeahhh true a lil bitttt
Yes , they look similar 😄
No, you're overthinking it
Kinda
OMMMG thank you! this was exactly what I needed and such great tips and reminders! 💖
Your skin irritated is my skin at its best.. Some of you are surely blessed
Just a note that Elidel is not like hydrocortisone - they can be used for the same skin conditions but they work completely differently and have many differences. Just think it’s important not to spread misinformation about medications (:
thank you for picking up on that! That probably would have been a better way to word it - I did mean it in the sense of 'they work for the same skin conditions' 😅😅
Dr Ceuracle kombucha essence destroyed my skin. Broke me out so bad. Stopped using it today and appreciate your video. You’re so right even the most hydrating and mildest of kbeauty sunscreens sting my skin so bad 😓
oh no I am so sorry to hear that 😭 definitely pull back your routine to the bare minimum & stay out of the sun!
@@TinaTanakaHarris yes I’ll try to do that! Can’t seem to stop using my tret even in this condition.
The bestest moisturizer I ever use.
Bare minimum step :
If needed would that be oke to do double cleansing?
Like micellar water then the face cleanser
Love your new hair!!
thank you for the video. it's very helpful. My skin is very f...ked up at the moment but it's mostly hormonal. If my skin is reactive too I love to use the basic Pyunkang Yul products. These calm down my skin quickly too.
wow Tina you have god’s lighting in your studio haha looks really nice ✨
This was a very helpful video. I don't think I've seen one like it.
I would say Torriden products really help me out when something happens to my skin. I'm even thinking about switching just to their products but there are so many exciting bottles to try out 😆
I'm Indian and i loved ur videos i also love you ur next level glow on your beautiful face love from me ❤
i feel so early… thank you so much for the tips, i’ve been strugglin 🫶🫶🫶
Please do a body care routine for dry, flaky dehydrated skin 🥲
oh, your steps are kinda similar for me if my skin irritated. i use hadalabo gokujyun cleanser, skin1004 probio cica toner, and illiyoon cream... thats it.... i still use my spf and oil cleanser too.
When i was on acne medication I was told to only wear spf when going out. Now that I stay mostly indoors I still use it because the influencers told us so, but I think it’s causing my skin to break out. Now that you mentioned it, I will only wear spf when I’m outdoors.
People will recommend SPF indoors because of windows and just going out to get the mail 😅 I would break out like crazy if I wore SPF every single day. I def skip if I don’t plan on spending any time outside 🫶🏻 done wonders for my skin to skip
Your skin looks good here, glowing not oily
Lol makeup💄
Hello! This is my first time watching your videos and I think you are amazing!! Which product do you recommend to get rid off texture skin? Thank you very much!!
What do you do at night while healing your skin? Your nighttime routine?
Hi Tina! Glad to see your skin recovered :) I’m actually allergic to Tamanu oil as well 😩
I recently tried the sukin skin relief moisturizer when I had irritated skin barrier from trying too many new products. It was amazing and made my skin so soft. Do give it a try it is really cheap and from Australia
Do not use La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baum if you are very acne prone, it has comedogenic ingredients and it broke me out!
how kind of skin you have oily or dry
@@Muslimaxon-hd1vk I am not completely sure, I think dry, its definitely sensitive, its like its dry for a long time after I wash my face so I apply a moisturizer, but at the end of the day especially if I wear makeup I can tell my skin is super oily
Been suffering from eyelid dermatitis on only one of my eyelids. I think it was triggered accidentally by retinol in a sheet mask seeping there. Has been irritated a few times a week. Cicaplast & cerave ointment do not irritate it and actually heals by the next day so I agree less is more!
I always experience a wreck in my skin barrier during my period week. My skin looks dull and irritated no matter how simple my skincare routine is.
I prefer the original cicaplast b5. Thats what we still have in the US. It definitely has saved my skin barrier multiple times.
Thank you for the video, very informative. I love you light nail polish, which brand and colour are you wearing please? 💗
About the spf is soo true! Whenever i use spf my skin gets oily and its just a mess but when i stop using it I'm fine!
I tried the cicaplast balm for the first time last week and nearly cried from the immediate relief it gave my dry itchy irritated skin ❤
I also tried cicaplast before, but it was less effective than Bioderma.
I was expecting the Dear Klairs blue cream to be here. I heard it got reformulated. What’s your take on the new version?
What type of contact lenses are you using?
Hello 🤗 Your makeup looks so pretty, could you do a tutorial on it ?
love from Vienna
omg i have allergic reation to tamanu oil as well. my entire face would swell to the point that i can't open my yes if anything with tamanu oil touch my face. its red, itchy, hot and painful to the touch. Eucerin pH5.5 cleanser, make prem toner, avene thermal spring water, aloe gel, cicaplast baume is always my go to routine. the make prem toner work very well to combat the dehydration after the swelling goes down, avene thermal spring water and alcohol free aloe gel is to calm & cool down my skin from the redness and itchiness. cicaplast work the best on any circumstances
I've had a few people tell me so since I've been talking about it over the last few years!! not something you'd usually think of 😅
Do you usually apply your moisturizer (any type, not necessarily the one of the video) pressing into your skin?
Wow I like japanese skin products ❤ thank you for sharing your products.
Makeup routine please!
I have Lupus and I can heal my skin in 3 days(it took me 7 years with diagnose and meds to be able to), but I would love to see your skin being not okay, because I feel to many people do t want to show it or share the recovery online, its always perfect perfect skin online. I use the Cream from the doctor, spf and cleanser when its going on, nothing more, except in winter then also vaseline in dry spots.
Do you have any recommendation for face cream that does not have any Tocopherol/Vit E nor heavy oils (olive, shea, argan etc) and still can help with healing skin barrier? I am allergic to these ingredients and it hurts my skin so bad if i put it on... And I still have to take care of it because it flares up sooo often.
Panthenol from the Purito brand, contains information about it on Kelly Driscoll's channel!
What is the best skin routine to get rid of melasma?😢
I only cleanse at night to remove makeup and I just wash my face well with warm water in the morning just to remove any oils produced during my sleep.
I never had any reactions to anything my whole life, I’m almost 50, that’s because my skincare is very minimal so the less the better in my opinion.
At first glance she looks like HANIA AMIR, Pakistani actress ❤
When my skin is red and irritated I don’t apply anything until it calms.. the avene spray is my go to x
So the Curel instead of the Mugwort?
I can't 😢😢😢 cica always make me break out
😢
im not sure if anyone will see this comment, but my skin needs help.
my skin feels itchy and dry after i cleanse, but it gets oily and feels gross after a day of not cleansing. my cleanser is the inkey list 2% salicylic acid cleanser and ive realized that i shouldnt be using it everyday because it strips too much of my skins essential oils. ive been using it for like four months now almost daily and im scared my skin is very damaged, but i didnt even feel it that bad until recently. I think what i need now is a gentle cleanser to use when im not using the salicylic acid, but idk which to buy. Im also young, so i dont want to use harsh products like retinol. Im looking for feedback on my skincare routine and how to repair my skin barrier and mantain my oily skin without further damaging it. anything helps!
I'm struggling the same way and I think the best thing is to first to nothing but sunscreen:) don't use any products wash your face only with water ( use a cleansing oil if you wear makeup or micellar water and rinse well) and maybe add vaseline at night and that's it :) I did this but recently I started using a new cleanser and I got soooo many new pimples and my skin is so itchy again
