I just did a test drive of the Ioniq 6 it's a great car and the 361 miles means range anxiety isn't really a thing anymore. The lease deal right now is unbeatable. 239 a month and only 239 down 12k miles for 24 months....about to close the deal in a couple of days!

You only get the 361 miles range with the SE (non standard) RWD . But this is one of the cheaper trim levels so it’s a great choice.

Ive been test driving both the awd highland and ioniq 6 awd limited, deciding which one I will get as a company lease car. Ultimately I found the Ioniq to be a more comfortable car to drive. The suspension which I feel this video failed to mention is softer making the ride feel more refined and smoother. Having a head up display is a win for me.
The Highland awd is more fun though.. Also you get used to buttons instead of stocks, but it is still a problem in EU with all the roundabouts. Especially since Tesla made a mistake imo of putting the buttons on the same side of the wheel. Try turning the wheel upside down and figuring out which button to press.
Tesla charging network is the best but here in EU, I can charge my Ioniq at almost every Tesla Supercharger AND I get the 800volt system making it charge even faster at stations that support it.
Infotainment is better with the Tesla, but no Apple Car Play. Sound system is better with Tesla. Sunroof is also bigger, but on the Ioniq you can open it.
Both are great cars so it really comes down to preferences.

Design-wise, Teslas look like not fully grown frogs and large toads. And I agree and prefer the heavier steering wheels. Hyundais come along a long way when I first tested Veloster and Tiburons that turned corners like a bumper car with a much lighter steering wheel experience which I did not like. When it comes to steering wheels, I do like german cars more than any other manufacturers. But Hyundai and Kia have done wonderful job with their interiors and exterior looks and feels of the materials they've used. This is the first ever since that I am seriously considering a Korean made vehicles, including the new Sonata, Santa Fe and the upcoming Palisade with a newer look in 2025 or later. Took a test drive in both Ioniq 5 and 6 and they felt good. Heavier than the previous gasoline-based small cars for sure. I currently drive a FJ cruiser and Ioniq 5 is definitely smaller but feels more comfortable and surprisingly quite good. Ioniq 6 is my preferred choice but still hunting and researching more into how dependable and reliable these EV vehicles really are, overall, plus the availability of charging station in my area. My two cents!!

I question the Tesla Auto Charging strategy. We recently went from Nebraska to Texas and back. We let the Tesla navigate directly to its choice of Chargers and path. We ended up on a plethora of geometrically odd choices of roads, only to be connected back to the same road we left. I suspect the Tesla was deliberately slowing us down, to manage the charging traffic. On the return trip, we navigated via Apple Maps and just put in the charging stations point to point(so we would get preconditioning) and stayed on much better roads. Just an observation, that we tested only the one time, so we will try again in the future. Anyway, was watching the Video because we are debating on adding a Hyundai Ioniq to the garage, great info!

Ionic 6 is by far the better car, people are stuck on the looks and I understand that…but c’mon. Tesla has no USS sensors, no front camera so you have to back in everywhere, Tesla vision sucks (Tesla won’t admit it, and neither will the Tesla faithful), the car has no stalks and everyone says ‘it’s ok’ OR ‘you get used to it’s. You have to look to the side to see the speedometer. The car is full of compromises, but hey, you can say you’re driving a Tesla.

To answer your question on the frunk. The European version of the IONIQ 6 RWD has a 45 Liter front trunk that is more like the Tesla's. The US versions do not have the frunk and I suspect is because they didn't want to add an internal release which is mandatory by some stupid US law. No AWD version of the IONIQ 6 have that large frunk because the front motor takes up that space.

My wife was a very nervous driver but she loves the Model 3 RWD (2022) - but she didn't like it at first because its quite a bit different from other cars. It took her a couple of weeks to get used to and then I couldn't get it back off her. I don't think she'd love the refresh straight away with the new indicators but all the reviews I've seen says it takes about 20 mins to get used to. I think the Ioniq 6 looks like a great EV as well but I've had such bad experiences with the last couple of Hyundai's I've owned - never again. I had a 5 speed manual elantra sportswagon - great basic car. But then we've had a 90's Sonata and a 2L 2008 i30 and both were disappointing cars. Interior plastics started to fall apart after after a few years (although the fabric seats in the i30 held up well), mechanical niggles, terrible fuel economy. The Sonata was a dog, the i30 was peppy enough but super thirsty for it's size.

Shame with Hyundai that the navigation is so unresponsive and annoying to use… Of course you could use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for that, but then you lose the battery heating when navigating to a charger, since that requires using the built-in system… It’s annoyances like this that make Tesla a better overall package where stuff just works.

My last vehicle was a Civic Touring and I paid $29,900 sold it 2yrs yrs later with 31k miles for $27750. I changed the oil 2 times and put gas in the car. Thats it! You gotta stop and think what’s the vehicle going to do for me and how much is my total cost once I’m finished moving on to the next car. I’ve watched maybe a hundred videos about Ev s at this point. One thing I’ve realized is just that a lot of the Tesla competitors have a better car. I personally would rather have ioniq or ford Mach e but researching extensively I noticed one thing and that’s mostly from very small time channels not the big review ones as they just give you pros of cars. Watching the smaller channels and going through all the people comments is me thing stands out is the real work performance. Tesla is a lot smoother easier experience where as I yet to see a video for example where an ioniq 6 charges at its full capacity or finds a charger that can do it. They mentioned capacity and speed of charging but guarantee he s probably never been able to take advantage of it. people also report having a problem with a ford or Hyundai for example leaves dealership stumped without the ability to repair your car ends up bricked parked at dealer while you still pay insurance and monthly payments. Tesla at this point charging, repairs and network is just so far more advanced makes REAL WORLD use next level. You may get a car that gives you 0 problems with a non Tesla but if you aren’t that lucky🤦🏻‍♂️

As someone who owns a Bolt and Model 3, Teslas are plagued with QC issues. Tesla Service centers are very hit or miss. They are notorious for fixing a issue, only to cause another. The single screen to control everything is pretty bad. I remember having to watch a youtube video on how to unlock the passenger doors when sitting in the car. opening the glovebox is 2 levels into the UI, so I never use my glovebox in my Model 3. The real benefit of Teslas is access to the supercharger network and the battery preconditioning when navigating to a supercharger. Dont set the navigation to a supercharger and you will get slow charging speeds. The Tesla app is superior to other brands, but a keyfab is superior to Tesla's keycard or Phone access. Using bluetooth headphones and your car wont unlock. The bulk of pros of owning an EV are shared across all brands. If Hyundai had access to the Supercharger network, and I would never look at a Tesla ever again.
