@@Station2Station-du2gh My friend has a 2024 duel motor LR Model 3. I have driven it a couple of times. Once for about three hours of the seven hour trek from San Francisco to Los Angeles and a second time from San Francisco to Napa (about 90 minutes). I didn’t notice many differences between my ‘21 LR and his ‘24 LR at all.
@@longlivetheclash Then you're numb. We just replaced our previous 3 with the new LR AWD Highland. It's the most radical difference I've ever experienced in a car. 360° insulated glass (every sheet of glass in the car is now double pane). The doors now have stabilizing tongues for ridigity - open the door and look at the tongue and slot at the bottom of the door - you can even feel the rigidity when shutting the doors). The FSD suspension (which stands for Frequency Sensitive Dampening) is one of the best suspensions I've felt in any car by ANY manufacturer. The soundproofing throughout makes the car 9 db quieter in the cabin (tested). The center screen is now larger and brighter. You must not have been in a Highland if you didn't notice many difference. Every trusted review is is calling the upgrade "monumental" including Marques Brownlee, Haggarty, Motor Trend, and C&D. It's an entirely different car.
Got our RWD M3 4 weeks ago in stealth grey with black interior. First EV and absolutely love it. Great comparison from someone who has had both generations. 👍🇦🇺
Ditto on all counts. I actually went from a Porsche Macan and don’t miss it. The Tesla ride is on a par, steering and handling only 10% behind and the tech is better. Acceleration is quick enough with good mid range punch. So 90% the car for 50% the purchase price and even more advantageous running cost wise 😊
I drove a Gen 2 M3P and it was indeed amazing! Sadly, it wasn’t an option on my company car list, but I’m not sure my licence would last very long with one anyway! I still enjoy little performance blasts and my wife has to reign me in from time to time 😂 I agree about the range - very few people drive 250 miles in one sitting. If they do, they’ll be used to planning stops and rests anyway.
It is definitely quite a step from 2020 to 2024! I look forward to making any and all journeys again. I know this will wear off, but I’m enjoying it for the moment.
I drive a 2023 Model 3 Long Range built in Shanghai end August ‘23. I live in regional city on the border of NSW and Victoria, Australia, charge off solar at home, and travelled regionally 1,550km return to Loxton SA to see family. I charged off solar at their place as well, and all up the trip cost $AU62 in charging fees when travelling between solar chargers. The car is comfortable, has double glazed front passenger as well as driver windows, not rear windows like the 2024 model 3 has. Build quality is superb, and I bought the ‘23 model because I do like the stalks, but can see when you’re used to the wheel controls they’re fine. It is the best car I’ve ever owned, a joy to drive and a car I plan to keep for many years. Thanks for a great comparative review, like you, I think the differences between Gen 2 and Gen 3 are mainly cosmetic. Mine was one of the last Gen 2’s built in Shanghai and the suspension is remarkably comfortable enough. The build quality as stated, is excellent, and actually considerably better than the last mid-sized European SUV I owned. I will never own another petrol car.
Outstanding results! Thanks for sharing. Glad you're enjoying your new car. I really do think a 1/2 year old LR Gen 2 might be the sweet spot for the money right now.
Cost was a little under $AU74,000 to put it on the road here. Not ‘cheap’, but good value for money for the car I got. I believe, from contact with friends and family in the UK, the M3 LR supplied here has slightly more battery than the LR sold in the UK. That may or may not be correct. In my regional setting the Long Range version made great sense, distances in Australia merit the range.
I bought a 2 year old M3 LR in December and am absolutely thrilled with it! It's a lot of car for the money. I test drove the standard range first and wasn't satisfied with the pick up. Different story with the long range model. The LR model also has the paid option to add acceleration boost which brings it closer to the performance model. Great choice on the white seats. It makes the car a nice airy space and a very pleasant space to be.
Oh, you can definitely feel the difference between the SR and LR in the acceleration from stationary. I did not find the mid range pick up to be all that different. Either way, both fantastic cars and congratulations on your choice!
Yeah, picked up a gen 2 (2021 reg) LR for £24k with only 30k miles. I used to drive a M240i and honestly, this thing is just as quick. My friend has a 2019 LR version and I noticed how much more comfortable and quiet the 2021 version is, its not even close. I'd recommend a gen 2 easily, quite cheap for what you get. I have seen the highland at a tesla show, it looks great, but the lack of indicators and drive put me off.
Thanks for commenting - I had a very quick go in a colleague's 2021/Gen 2 a couple of weeks ago and I agree that there was a hell of a difference between that and my 2020 in terms of noise, how solid it felt, etc. The 2024 model really isn't that big a leap from the 2021, I think, and you got a real bargain!
At some point in 2021, Tesla started adding heat pumps to the model 3, a huge bonus in cold climates. The 2022s got the Ryzen chip, which improved interactions with the control screen, and the RWD version got LFP batteries (safer and higher cycle life, but slower charging). The big, not good change in 2023 was the removal the ultrasonic parking sensors. As for wind/road noise in the older models, there are cheap modifications you can do to greatly minimize it, look it up!
The Gen 2 (with black vs chrome trim and updated console etc) has the heat pump. First deliveries in late 2020. Also has laminated front side windows for better noise insulation (Highland also has on rear windows (and maybe roof??) as well. Quick impression of the sound system of the SR vs LR Highland is that the LR is way better , but need to do a more thorough listen when I get a chance. Otherwise I agree that there's not a lot of advantage to the LR unless you have a lead foot! 🙂 Practical driving range is much the same comparing a SR with LFP battery at 100% charge vs the NMC battery LR at (recommended) 80% charge.
Hi Paul, thanks for this comparison review of gen 1 v gen 3. One aspect you didn’t cover was the sound system. I love music when I drive, and I appreciate a good sound system. I think in gen 1 SR you got a reduced sound system. And this might be the same with gen 3. When you showed the boot space, your gen 1 has a subwoofer on the right, which is why there is no cubby there, but your new SR has a cubby on both sides of the boot, perhaps because the subwoofer is omitted. It would be interesting to explore the difference in the sound system. I know this seems a bit petty, but a big advantage of an EV is the possibility of much better sound quality.
Fair point - there was definitely a comparison opportunity missed there! The new car’s sound system is good but I have to admit that it is inferior to the old LR. It’s just not as immersive due to the drop in speaker numbers. The gen 3 LR has an upgraded system over the old LR, now including two subs; I’ve not heard out but I’m confident it’ll be awesome! There’s a good sound review of my car here: th-cam.com/video/he8hK-pUTQw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AMVf3oAY_IZcIzyY
Brilliant review Paul! And I love your presenting style, you’re a natural! I hope to be able to afford to own a Tesla one day! They are things of beauty. Anyway, you’ve got yourself a new subscriber 👍🏻
The blocked off bit in the boot of the dual motor car is the sub woofer. The rear drive version doesn't get one hence you have access to the right hand well.
I had a version one (lease) and now have a version 2 I own. The biggest difference for me was the change to the suspension setup, which was hash and jiggly on version 1, and rear passengers did not like sitting there - especially on UK roads. Version 2, the suspension is firm, but acceptable, but I understand that version 3 it is very good.
Congrats on the new gen 3 M3. What a brilliant and refreshing review. Great general coverage over the 3 generations . Really like the gen1 v gen3 comparison. More Tesla gen 3 videos please! 😊
@@PaulsViewsReviews Oh and yeah, the collection was fun! The location does it in groups, so you get to meet fellow owners, etc. Absolutely LOVE it! Motivated me to get my garage all setup with a Level 2 charger, and so far I've only spent $4 charging from home.
I have changed from blue gen 2 LR lease and bought a new ultra red gen 3 SR. The colour is spectacular and everything is just a bit better. It feels more premium and 10k cheaper for 2 WD is great value compared to so many other manufacturers.
Exactly the same as me. Pick up the new one next week. Never liked red cars until I saw the Ultra Red. Highland is definitely more premium than the 2020 model.
@@PaulsViewsReviews Picked up the car last Wednesday. My only fear was that I would miss the acceleration and speed of the 2020 Long Range. Not at all! The new RWD feels just as quick to me. Plenty enough acceleration from a standing start and more than enough torque when accelerating in the mid-range. The new model is so much more premium and refined and a lot more comfortable and quiet.
I just bought my first Tesla , 2020 long range model 3 . Very planted and ~ double the range of my 40 kWh leaf . I miss the 360 cam and heated steering wheel but there are loads of better things .
It’s a fantastic car - the performance versus a Leaf must feel pretty epic! 360 cams are good, but the surround perspective offered by the Tesla in reverse always served me equally as well. Enjoy your new car!
Nice comparison. I have the 2020 ver1 LR. I wish they’d kept the indicator stalk or at least put the buttons on the opposite sides of the wheel like Ferrari.
They're good, aren't they! I like the detail on them, such as the rear one having that little gap for the power cable to come up from the USB-C underneath and the little finger grip to slide the front one back and forth. They transform what are great, but potentially disorganised, spaces! Next thing for me will be some sort of organiser for the frunk and lower trunk/boot - so much space but too much freedom for things to move. Watch this space and I'll hopefully be reviewing some solutions soon!
Tesla quote 316 miles but, having fully charged the car a couple of times now, it thinks 100% = 270 miles, so about 85% of the claimed. Not too bad, as the old Long Range was 300 miles from a full charge.
Very good review, articulate and informative on details no other reviewer has shown. I had a Model S from new 5 years ago, was a great car but too big so traded ‘down’ to a second gen 3. Have a 2nd gen now standard range. Love it. Over 280 miles in summer, LFP charge to 100% each time. Has over 2 years developed a few ‘Tesla rattles’ which is the only thing I don’t like. I can buy it in 10 months on the PCP for £18k. Will have 25k miles on it. Did consider trading in for a Highland M3P but they are ripping us off on the price and Tesla offered me less on trade in than We Buy Any Car. WTF Tesla! I told them no chance I’ll keep this one instead. Tesla will need to drop prices to keep selling next year. I’m a huge Tesla advocate but with their low trade in prices and inflated new prices (new M3P is cheaper in Ireland- RHD- import tax same in Ireland- VAT is 25%- so go figure that one) I’m struggling to continue to advise people to buy a new Tesla. Pick up a 2.5 year old gen 2 for 22k
Thanks for the feedback and sharing your story. My friend had a similar experience recently, with regards Tesla trade-in values - disappointing to hear. The new M3P looks very nice but it isn’t worth £20k more than the SR and definitely not £10k more than the already rapid LR. I can’t see them shorting too many of those in the UK. I think you made the perfect choice and the PCP settlement figure is pretty agreeable.
5:12 one thing I don't like the most about my 2020 m3 is the centre console. I don't like the opening and closing of the centre console, I wish it was a sliding door
Great video this, ordered mine yesterday and taking delivery in a week! Gone for the same spec as you but 19" wheels too. Had a 2019 Model 3 stealth performance for 2 years and miss everything Tesla, good to finally be getting back in one. Interested to see the accessory reviews you've mentioned in the other video.

@@PaulsViewsReviews Out of curiosity (struggled to find answers online). Does Spotify simply work when you have premium connectivity? My old one did without signing into Spotify, it basically stored everything as a "car account". But, I've read that now, even with premium connectivity that you need to sign in with a Spotify account for it to work.
@@ryanlownie I signed in with my own Spotifyv account, so not 100% sure. However, the new car was ready to play from the start and did reference something about a car account. Sorry - I just wasn’t paying enough attention.

So far, so good! Any marks have wiped straight off, except a squashed red insect, but that came off with a more aggressive wipe. I love how it lightens the interior compared to the black which I had on my last car. I'd choose it again tomorrow!
I am coming out of a Skoda Enyaq and considering the Tesla model 3 For the charging network. How much or what size luggage can you get in the boot. A video on that would be good 👍🏻
I'll see what I can do with regards a video but, in the meantime, we went on holiday with 4 x mid size cases in February and got all 4 in the boot with hand luggage in the 'lower boot' bit. It's pretty spacious.
Quick question. I just bought 2020 model 3 performance with FSD for $20k(after $4k used ev credit) at my local tesla dealership. Obviously, it has pretty high miles on it. About 90k miles. 1 private owner. No accident. I'm kinda scared of high mileage Ev, but I wanted to give it a try since it has FSD. What do you think about this deal?
Thanks for the sub! I'm old school these days and have a 2007 ST1300 Pan European; great for longer touring trips (off to do the Scottish coast again next month) and super comfortable, but not 'throw it around' sports bikes of my youth! It will feature in an upcoming video about a wireless tyre pump for cars, motorbikes and pedal bikes, which I have been sent for review.
@@PaulsViewsReviews Yes, I'm unfortunately of the age where sportsbikes are only for looking at. Although I do blag a cheeky test ride at bike shops just to help with the craving. After an hour my back is done, and my addiction is subdued for the time being. 👍
I’ve gotten used to using the button rather than a stalk for most occasions. I even change the radio channel in my wife’s car now when I want to turn, rather than try and find a stalk! Roundabouts do require you to pay a bit more attention with your hand placement, and I’ve not always got it right, but I’ve got used to the left indicator being slightly closer to the edge of the wheel than the right so I don’t have to look at the wheel anymore, which is progress!
Honestly, I didn’t have any choice; my company car list changed. I needed to slow down a bit anyway, so it’s advantageous in that sense, but I do miss the brutal acceleration of the long range sometimes when I’m just that way out on a quiet road. I’d suggest you drive them both and see how you feel, but you’ll be happy with either, I imagine. The question will be does the difference warrant £1.200 a year?
Looking to order one in August company car/ salary sacrifice. It will be the white standard range as I'll only have to top up 100 to 160 from my own pocket. Great vid recognised the roundabouts lol
@PaulsViewsReviews I would have ordered in January but lease plan wanted til some points dropped off . My colleague has had since then, I talked him into it. He absolutely loves it
Im also an owner of a 2020 lr and now a new 24 highland lr, all i can say is that there is no comparison. the 2020 is now my wifes car and lucky me gets the new highland. not only is it quieter, its much more smoother. my 10 yo son loves the new 3.. does your white area where the wood trim was on the 2020 has a small green line on passenger side. look close at it and see if its good. the SC told me its a manufacturer issue, lol i need to see if thats true...😅
I'm loving the looks of the new 3 but concerned about the rear space. We have a toddler and occasionally have his grandparents travel with us. Do you reckon a compact carseat in the middle and 2 (relatively small) adults on either side would be a comfortable situation? Or should i be pragmatic and go with the Y (even though i find the Y's overall profile just a little bit ugly 😉)?
Hi. I was fairly sure the Model Y and the Model 3 use the same rear bench and, therefore, are the same width. I've just Googled it, read a few articles and that is indeed the case, so there is no advantage of one over the other in this regard. I'd suggest you just go and try one and have a go. You'll find out quickly if it will work for you, for the few occasions you'll need that set up. Incidentally, I would be more inclined, thinking of when our kids were young and we did similar configurations, to put the child on one side and the adults in the other two seats. The person in the middle is not going to be comfortable on a long ride but it should be fine for a short run.
I did see both in person, and mid section of the Model Y seemed slightly wider (although I didn't have the carseat or the passengers to test with then). It could just be how the seats are shaped. I'll go down to the store again! Anyway, thanks for the great video
You're right! Saw some measurements; 3 and Y have the exact same rear bench width! Looks like the bench contours have been changed in the new 3 to allow more space for outboard passengers at the expense of the middle seat. Y Juniper will likely do the same!
How are you finding the range on the Highland Standard range? I want the LR mainly due to the additional power and speakers but when test drove the SR i didn't find it too slow. My salary sacrifice offer the LR at such a inflated price compared to the SR
So far, so good. Not that different to my old LR - approximately 10% less range on a mixed speed trip. It definitely is not as quick, but the circumstances where that matters are pretty few and far between, TBH.
Run the vacume round mate.i would I. Very ocd with a lovely car like That and love the white seats ! My choice seriously thinking about lease one next time
Interesting question, as I had that very concern. As it happens, the new system does not sound like a compromise at all. There is still a subwoofer taking the deep elements and the rest of the speaker more handle a fully immersive sound. I’ve been quite happy - and I like quality music.
For me the indicators are a big deal. I live in the Netherlands and we have a lot of roundabouts. It’s just not the best placement if you gotta press the right indicator when steering to the left
Hi. We have more than our fair share of roundabouts in the UK, too, and it does take some getting used to, but you definitely DO get used to it. The left turn button is just a little closer to the outside and that helps me choose the correct button without looking.
I don't need a long range. I think because most YT videos have the long range most people tend to think they need a long range, but in reality they dont. I can get a brand new Model 3 SR from tesla on a 24 month lease deal right now for £382 per month with 20,000 mile per year limit. If I didnt need the extra 10k miles it would be £322 per month. Deposit is 6 months but you can do any from 1 to 24. I think this is a damn good deal. As I look around at other manufacturer lease deals there isnt really anything at this standard of car within that price range. A general PCP deal works out around £470-£520 per month and restricted to 8k miles per year. So you keep it three years and then have a 18k balloon payment. And then you;re thinking Fk, now I need another loan over three years for the 18k and will have about 6k interest on top of that - AND do I want to invest so heavily ion a three year old car Seems to me lease is the way to go and this one seems like its one of the best lease deals around. I think in general Im done with PCP deals. I never let them run their course so never build up any equity. Just seems like paying more for no benefit.
That is a good deal - and I’m perfectly happy with my standard range model, incidentally. Get it done! While mine is a company car, so I didn’t have to make the lease/PCP comparison this time around, the last car I ‘bought’ before I opted back into the company car scheme was a leased BMW 520d. It was SO much cheaper to lease over PCP, I had no interest in owning it anyway and, interestingly, my lease coincided with Covid so my mileage was super low and, as a result, I was actually able to hand it back a year early at no cost to myself. Not sure I’d have been able to do this on a PCP.
The main goal of a car is to meet your needs. And I don't see what scenario a 2024 model 3 can handle and a 2020 can't, or even a 2018 model 3. Of course it is nice to have a new car, but then please don't complain about depreciation or the cost of living.
It's not about capabilities or scenarios; they're both great cars and I enjoyed them both. The Gen 3/2024 model just does most things better: it's smoother, it's quieter, it's better equipped. But then, it's the third generation - it ought to be better!
I did a like for like speed test in the same spot in each of the cars, I compared road noise in decibels whilst on the motorway and I mention road noise and vibration differences at a number of points. Odd you missed them, but thanks for watching.
i use my model x plaid for personal, the other model y and model 3 for my uber. telsa is the cheptcar you can buy as an today's EV world.. i bought mine $22K brand new model Y after tax credit. you cannot go wrong with that
I'm considering a Tesla for the first time, having had other EVs, but I'm wondering if Tesla owners that get cold hands and have to wear gloves in the winter find it inconvenient having to take them off to perform essential functions like Reversing!
I like that question! The good news is that the steering wheel is heated (as standard on all models) and so your hands ought to be fine. Secondly, you can heat the car up remotely in advance using the Tesla app to make sure it’s nice and toasty in there. Lastly, there are alternative ways to choose the drive mode using the buttons behind the rear view mirror - I have not tried them with gloves but I believe they will work.
@@PaulsViewsReviews Thanks. If that doesn't work, I suppose I could always get mittens! I'm only judging this by my winter usage of a Leaf Gen 1 with no heating on wearing gloves to get extra range... A separate question, you said the v1 Model 3 is a bit noisy, have you compared it to a Kia Niro? I test drove a Kia Niro last weekend and unfortunately it was too noisy, which was a real shame so am a bit jumpy about the noise issue since you mentioned it on the v1 Model 3. Good vid BTW.
@@drigans2065 Very kind, thanks. I’ve not driven a Leaf, I’m afraid, so can make no comparison. Tesla are pretty accommodating with test drives so drop in at a garage and give one a go.
After watching this review I think I’ll be looking to purchase a 2-3yo gen2 M3P, keep it for about 3 years then upgrade to the gen3 M3P. Only because I really prefer the new shape much much more than the original. Thoughts TH-cam people?
I don't think you can go far wrong with a 2 year old M3 and the Performance is going to be lots of fun. However, while the power is nauseatingly good fun, you won't use it too much other than to impress your friends/family/racers at traffic lights. I would genuinely encourage you to test drive a RWD version of the new one, as you may realise that it is quick enough where you need it most - the mid range - but could be within reach now, giving you the shape you prefer. Just a thought but I'm sure you'll love whichever you choose!
Appreciate the quick reply Paul. I did recently test the new M3 standard range but didn’t really make my eyes light up from a performance perspective, Tesla don’t seem to have any dual motors to try. Since then I’ve driven a 2022 gen 2 M3P and was more impressed. Guess I prefer the slightly more harsher drive and the performance over the more refined and laid back new standard range. 😅
@@PaulsViewsReviews , yes, at about 24 minutes, the dB measurement comparison appears fleetingly as a text on the screen (on the motorway, 65dB for the new model vs. 75dB), thanks.
@@psandbergnz The new model is definitely quieter, thanks to the enhanced sound reduction measures and double glazing all round. It’s still not as quiet as a typical German saloon, I have to admit, but it’s certainly an improvement and the gap is smaller.
@@PaulsViewsReviews , thanks, I hope I will find a comparison somewhere between the new Volvo ex30 and the new Tesla model 3 in terms of noise levels. That could be decisive for me in my choice.
The double glazing on the 2024 is a big safety hazard as you cannot smash it with a life hammer. This can become lethal when you drive in a canal or a lake or any other body of water.
I don’t have the knowledge to comment on that, but premium car manufacturers have been using double glazing for years - and scoring top marks in safety tests, so I’d like to think there is more to it. Thanks for commenting.

Very well made review! Thanks I believe the best value for money is 21/22 plate models they cost like £22-25k and you get pretty much the same spec car just like you mentioned in your video
Just started the video but thanks for this, been on the fence given the used vehicle tax credit of $4k under 25k. Exactly what I’ve been debating. Next thing I’m considering is a 1st gen LR or a 2nd gen SR+ given I drive 70 miles a day in Texas. Leaning towards SR for the potential existing warranty.
I don’t know anything about the US tax implications or incentives, so can’t talk intelligently about it them, but I’m glad the video helped. The jump from gen 1 to gen 2 is pretty significant and more than offsets the drop in performance, in my view. Enjoy!

Glad you’re enjoying it - you’ll never look back! Thanks for watching.
Best video on TH-cam for the Model 3 , new and old .
Love that! Thanks so much!
I've got a M3P gen 2 and the performance will blow your mind. Excellent to drive and 250 miles real range is enough for everyone.
I drove a Gen 2 M3P and it was indeed amazing! Sadly, it wasn’t an option on my company car list, but I’m not sure my licence would last very long with one anyway! I still enjoy little performance blasts and my wife has to reign me in from time to time 😂
I agree about the range - very few people drive 250 miles in one sitting. If they do, they’ll be used to planning stops and rests anyway.
sold my 2020 m3 for my 24’ m3 and i’m in love
It is definitely quite a step from 2020 to 2024! I look forward to making any and all journeys again. I know this will wear off, but I’m enjoying it for the moment.
Just ordered mine , getting excited!
That red colour is banging
I'm certainly a big fan!
But why £2000 for red ? 🤷♂️
Good review that, Paul. No bias just facts.
Thank you!
I just ordered my model 3 long range in multi red, I cannot wait for it! Took the performance out for a drive last week it’s absolutely nutty!
I bet! I test drove the last gen and it was insane.
All good to know - thanks for sharing.
Instead of ultrasonic parking sensors what does it have instead? Just camera?
Very kind - thank you very much!
The blocked off bit in the boot of the dual motor car is the sub woofer. The rear drive version doesn't get one hence you have access to the right hand well.
Makes a lot of sense! Thanks for clarifying.
great video! Super useful and well presented!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Totally agree!
Nice comparison. Got a 2024 RWD arriving in 3 weeks.
You will love it!! It’s a very impressive car, in so many ways.

Hi. I compare the decibels on the motorway. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/ZJp3H0uiDg0/w-d-xo.html&si=F7EJPXCOR6zeoSG2
I have changed from blue gen 2 LR lease and bought a new ultra red gen 3 SR. The colour is spectacular and everything is just a bit better. It feels more premium and 10k cheaper for 2 WD is great value compared to so many other manufacturers.
I totally agree. Enjoy your new car!
Exactly the same as me. Pick up the new one next week. Never liked red cars until I saw the Ultra Red. Highland is definitely more premium than the 2020 model.
@@ralfypapacino you’ll love it!!
Great review and comparison, thanks for sharing!
My pleasure - thanks for watching!
The door hook is for side impact protection. It helps keep the door in place during an accident.
Aah - good to know, thanks.
Nice comparison. I have the 2020 ver1 LR. I wish they’d kept the indicator stalk or at least put the buttons on the opposite sides of the wheel like Ferrari.
That certainly would have made more sense! Thanks for watching.
Nice review….Thankyou
My pleasure 😊
The lower door bracket is to improve side impact in that it keeps the door from moving in an accident.
I read that - good addition to a frameless door.
That road looked like an ice rink compared to our roads here in Corby Northants lol. Cracking looking new car Paul.
I actually laughed out loud at that one! The UK roads really are shocking right now. Thanks for watching!

Great video Paul! Super interesting.. hope all is good with you and the family
Thanks mate! All good with us - hope you and yours are keeping well.
I bought the centre console accessory trays you have in your Tesla and they are great!
Can you provide the link ? I'd like to grab some

What real world range are you getting out of the Highland? Good video!
Tesla quote 316 miles but, having fully charged the car a couple of times now, it thinks 100% = 270 miles, so about 85% of the claimed. Not too bad, as the old Long Range was 300 miles from a full charge.
Great video tour 👍
“An inch under 6ft” 🤣👍
😁
I drove i😅t.
Its WONDERFULL! I will buy one, replacing my Y Lr.
Excellent! Enjoy!

5:12 one thing I don't like the most about my 2020 m3 is the centre console. I don't like the opening and closing of the centre console, I wish it was a sliding door

The second gen compared to 3rd gen is massive, the ride quality is a massive difference.
I drove a Gen 2 and didn't think the jump from 2 to 3 was that noticeable.
It's definitely night and day from Gen 1!
How are the perforated white seats holding up? I plan on ordering one and was considering the white interior.
So far, so good! Any marks have wiped straight off, except a squashed red insect, but that came off with a more aggressive wipe. I love how it lightens the interior compared to the black which I had on my last car. I'd choose it again tomorrow!
I would 100% go for the new highland but the previous models headlights look much better
I actually prefer the new ones, but they both look great
I am coming out of a Skoda Enyaq and considering the Tesla model 3 For the charging network.

Hey. I’m not sure on US pricing and the amount of stock available to you, but that sounds like a great deal to me! Keep us informed as you enjoy it.
Great comparison between the two cars.
What motorbike do you ride? Would be good to see some bike related stuff too. Subbed 👍
How are you finding the indicators on roundabouts? I've heard it's a real pain.
Sept 2022 Model Y LR here - no change on mine :(
I think the updated Model Y is due in 2025. There’s certainly more and more sightings of test cars appearing.
Yep- the duel motor AWD is grippy AF!
Sure is!
Hi was wondering what made you go for the RWD this time around? Trying to decide if the LR is worth an extra £100 a month on a lease.
Excellent choice! Thanks for watching and I’ll keep an eye out for your car in a couple of months!
@PaulsViewsReviews I would have ordered in January but lease plan wanted til some points dropped off . My colleague has had since then, I talked him into it. He absolutely loves it
No privacy glass on rear doors ?
Unfortunately not - has to be done retrospectively, as not even an option.
Hi. I’ve had a good look and can’t see any green lines. Hope that helps any conversation you’re having with Tesla.
I'm not so worried about the cargo space; seems more than enough in depth, and with the underfloor storage and the frunk
I’ve shot you a video, outlining the practical aspects of the car - publishing tomorrow!
Very ocd with a lovely car like
That and love the white seats ! My choice seriously thinking about lease one next time
I do need to spend a bit more time keeping it clean! Go with the white interior - it’s awesome!
great video!
Thanks!
Do you feel like the felt type material on the dash of the white interior is too reflective on the windshield while driving during day time?
I think when I first got it, I did notice the greater presence in my vision than with the dark interior, but can’t say I’ve thought about it since.
What’s your opinion on the sound system vs the gen1 long range which would’ve had more speakers?
Interesting question, as I had that very concern. As it happens, the new system does not sound like a compromise at all. There is still a subwoofer taking the deep elements and the rest of the speaker more handle a fully immersive sound. I’ve been quite happy - and I like quality music.
How do the sound systems compare? I know the LR has more speakers. Interested to know old lr to be sr
It’s still really good. Is it as good? No, but you’d have to be a true audiophile to not still be impressed with standard range system.
@@PaulsViewsReviews hmmm if I had the money I would love to try.
After market indicator kits are available. I wouldn’t mind no indicators but it would be a deal breaker for my wife…..
And then you;re thinking Fk, now I need another loan over three years for the 18k and will have about 6k interest on top of that - AND do I want to invest so heavily ion a three year old car
Seems to me lease is the way to go and this one seems like its one of the best lease deals around.
Tip: if you wash your hands [occasionally] the piano black isn’t much of an issue. 🙄
A bit rude, but true enough!

Should have done the 2022 model 3 that has some features the other models don’t
Didn’t have access to one, unfortunately. Plus, I was keen to illustrate just how different the gen 1 is to the 2024 version.
Have to agree, mazda red is the best red color there is!!!
Incredible in the sun!
I watched the whole video and at the end you forgot to compare acceleration, sound and noise isolation, pity…
I did a like for like speed test in the same spot in each of the cars, I compared road noise in decibels whilst on the motorway and I mention road noise and vibration differences at a number of points. Odd you missed them, but thanks for watching.

I just bought a 2019 m3. Certainly seems like a bargain so far as feels like a top end vehicle.
It is one hell of a vehicle for an amazing price!
Just waiting for prices to dip below £30k, hoping the new gen 3 M3P dropping in the next few months will help with that! Hahahaha
He didn't compare the quietness level on the motorway between the two cars. Driving refinement is supposed to be a major strength of the new Model 3.
I literally shared a decibel measurement between the two cars?
Yes, did not hear any talk about window and road noise, great review nonetheless
I stick with my old model s with air suspension. Drives better then the model 3 and y
Gotta love the Model S!
18:32 “bottle of water”
Did I say it too quickly, or is it my accent?
@@PaulsViewsReviewslol It’s just a phrase that some Americans focus on because we feel that plays up the British accent. You have a nice posh British accent that’s easy for us Americans to understand. 👍
Beautiful cars
Can’t argue with that! Thanks for watching.
Very well made review! Thanks
I believe the best value for money is 21/22 plate models they cost like £22-25k and you get pretty much the same spec car just like you mentioned in your video
As much as I love this new car, I still think you’re right.
It’s small but a lot funner to drive
Which one?
Just started the video but thanks for this, been on the fence given the used vehicle tax credit of $4k under 25k. Exactly what I’ve been debating.
Next thing I’m considering is a 1st gen LR or a 2nd gen SR+ given I drive 70 miles a day in Texas. Leaning towards SR for the potential existing warranty.
I don’t know anything about the US tax implications or incentives, so can’t talk intelligently about it them, but I’m glad the video helped. The jump from gen 1 to gen 2 is pretty significant and more than offsets the drop in performance, in my view. Enjoy!
I’d much rather a 2 year old performance than a new standard range personally
A two year old Performance would be a great buy!!
@@PaulsViewsReviews having said that the new model does look great to be fair!
@@PaulsViewsReviews I’m starting to eat my words mate. Drove a new performance and long range today. Performance was uncomfortably fast, long range was lovely and we’re thinking about just going new on a standard range as I’ve realised the speed is not what I like most about these cars! That’s a turn up for me!
@@maguiretotalcoaching7341 Well, in didn’t want to say anything… 😉
Do you know tesla actually never called it the Highland it was a magazine , and it stuck in the media.
All I know is people go on TH-cam and search for it, so it’s good for me.
The wood inside looks terribly outdated
Yes, that didn’t survive into the latest version.
Hate the black much prefer the chrome
I didn’t dislike the chrome, as it looks premium, but the black just looks sportier, and I think it suits the Model 3 more. I hear you, though.
Two years ago, I decided to buy a Tesla and began saving. This October was the month I planned on taking delivery, that was until I discovered Elon Musk was a nasty, mean, whack job that is supporting Trump. There’s no way I will buy anything from Elon Musk now that I know what he is.
As a Brit watching US politics, I can actually completely understand your point of view.
How come all the new Teslas have those big mud flaps at the front? They look awful
Not sure - that just how it arrived. I don’t mind them, though.
@@PaulsViewsReviews small neat and moulded ones would look way better
Hello from Greece.Nice video man Like & sub from me.

Mazda 3 is way better.
Each to their own - the beauty of choice!
I don’t buy both I bought Toyota Prius which is amazing🎉
The latest one does look really good. Enjoy!
All the dirt in the car just put me off watching it lol disgusting…
