Your can sounds great! Hearing that makes me miss my Mustang lol. My exhaust set up was a Borla touring catback with the BBK shorty headers. I wanted something more practical so sold it for a Tacoma, but I’ll have another Mustang in the future when the time is right.
sounds great ,,,,,,watching your vid with the bbk install gave me that push , Thank You for the encouragement ...I ended up putting BBK shorty's and a rev 9 flow max axle back exhaust , left the factory res and cats in ,,,i get alot of compliments from people...
Thanks for this. I went with the Borla S-type cat back as well. Next will be the headers and a CAI possibly with a tune. It does sound great and even now without the headers I get compliments on the sound all the time. Only in sport mode will I get any pops or crackles but it’s minimal and simply sounds great.
I have the Borla H-pipe mid section which comes on the cat back system. It definitely sounds deeper and allows for less pops from what I’ve been told by professionals who know far more than I do. H-pipes will give you a deeper sound overall and I love it.
Finally I find a video with borla s type and bank shorty video. I’m about to install my shorty headers this week. I do have another set up sitting in my garage I just picked up and I want to combine it with Brent’s exhaust custom catless with jones resonator and x pipe and magnaflow with the borla cat back
I just bought a mustang v6 and I’d love to do some stuff to it but I’m brand new to the community I guess you’d say and I’m having trouble thinking of what the 1st thing to buy for it
Most people go with an exhaust system to make the care feel more alive. I will say when it comes to purchasing exhaust systems you pay for what you get.
If you have a manual, the cheapest yet best thing you could buy is the Steeda clutch spring assist and perch. Trust me, it will make a huge difference in comfort when shifting.
I don't drive a mustang, I drive a Camry TRD and the exhaust on that car is actually really solid without any mods but I got a resonator delete and it sounds way better. It's a nice engine with a good sound when the exhaust system actually lets more authentic sound out
Exhaust sounds great. I’ve been looking into the same setup for my 2012. My question is did you get a tune after you installed the exhaust and headers?
I have the shorties, off road H pipe, jones resonators after the H and Magnaflow resonators on GT over axle pipes before magnaflow streets. No drone, no rasp. Deep af and screams when i’m WOT.
@@quickdrive3488 I am one that prefers the "GTR" sound in the top end but yours definitely sounds good for stock resonator. I have SLP LM2's. My Flowmaster Scavenger-X goes in on Tuesday. Should make interesting noises.
@@sumdood2035 yeah I've heard alot of people say the 3.7 can sound like a GTR. The biggest thing i really want to people to take away from this video is how many different sounds you can get out of the 3.7. There's a lot of options. The one i currently run on the car is pretty simple in my opinion and less trial and error.
So I'm new the community Recently bought my mustang v6 2016 and I want my car to sound louder but not all the time. My cousin ways there's some pipes the have a button and it opens a flap to be louder or quiet. Does anyone know what that is called? Thanks!

I dunno man, that sounds like really not loud at all to me except while revving. Like driving down the street you can't even hear the car once it gets to the other side of the road. Could be maybe what the sound's being filmed on.. but I think that the Borla exhausts.. I kind of heard the same thing you thing from their own sound comparisons.. The S Type sounds like very bassy but then the ATAK has no bass at all.. That's what it sounds like from hearing it and I don't like that. I actually like the volume of the ATAK it definitely is a lot louder than the S-Type. it's not just higher pitch, it's actually a lot louder but the ATAK is only higher pitch. TBH I think I would be extremely pissed if I paid so much for the Borla and was disappointed with the sound. I think I'm going with the Pype Bombs myself. I had a Pypes exhaust on my older V6 and I loved it.. Didn't like the drone per se but I'd rather deal with drone and have an awesome sounding exhaust than have one that doesn't sound so great to me but has no drone. And I"m by no means dissing your exhaust.. You laid out your needs and wants and it fits them. And it does sound great when the foot is on the gas but I want a loud grumble like at all times. The thing is though I give this advice for everyone that wants their V6 to sound like a V8.. Dude just trade it in. I can't tell you how many times I'm disappointed that cool mods or parts are "only for the V8" like Corsa Extreme Quads. You can get the Ford Performance quads for the V6 but they come only in Chrome and they're not that loud. Corsa Extreme Quads? Only for the V8? Why? just coz the V8 is the popular one. That's what I think I'm doing is just gonna trade in my V6 for a V8 and call it a day.. and never buy a V6 again (or EcoBoost now).. I regret not getting a V8 and I was approved for a $30,000 Challenger.. Totally could've gotten a V8 Mustang.
Yeah it all depends on what you wanna go for. As far as loudness the Borla systems are loud when you want it, and quiet when you don’t. As far as audio goes I did record some of the clips with a shotgun mic which is typically used capture audio In one direction only. So that probably why you think the car isn’t that loud unless it’s reving. With that being said the beauty of mustangs is the flooded aftermarket options for just about any budget. Borla is on the higher end of the spectrum and a lot of people would say they are one of the best options along side of Corsa. Unfortunately the price doesn’t make them the most appealing depending on who you are. Whoever I will say , In general, within the aftermarket of Mustangs you get what you pay for. Pypes and flowmasters exhaust systems are also easy to find on the V6 Mustang. Primarily because alot of people who have a V6 hare also on a tighter budget so the lower cost exhaust systems are more appealing. In my opinion those cheaper systems only sound good at low idle and get raspy and nasty really fast. But that’s just how I feel. As far as getting a V8 I say go for it if it makes sense for you. I’ve driven a bunch of V8s on the channel they are a lot of fun. The V6 is a great platform and the 5.0 is even better. Nothing wrong with saying that

X pipe and 300 cell cats will givevit more a sublte sport sound, but magnaflow resonator tips will help stop rasp. (In theory) good video.
Good to see you back
The touring muffler works fantastic for going catless. Sweet sounding 3.7 man 👌🏽
sounds great!!!...... adding a H Pipe will deepen the sound and cut down on the rasp ..... but it still sounds great!!

You should if you’re doing a full system

i have the same setup on my 2020 GT(h pipe muffler delete)

Resonator delete H-pipes sound good

You could try a resonator delete and do an H pipe or an x pipe
