    Aloha and Good Afternoon 🌄 Rob. This was a very good installation video 📸 as you showed another option to installing the auxiliary battery for the Gladiator and Wrangler itself. The process is tough, but patience and perseverance prevailed. Awesome 👍 video 📸 Rob.

    I did the auxiliary battery without removing the liner. I was able to get my front tire off, but used strong tape and a string on the inside edge of the liner. I just pulled it back toward the outside of the wheel well and tied it out of the way. That let me reach the battery box without taking the liner out. a half an hour job total.

      this better qork. im bout to do mine, and i dont wanna remove pdc, drill rivets or break fender clips, like all the others show. here i come.

    I had so much trouble with my auxiliary battery in my JT. Finally upgraded to a Genesis dual battery set-up. I love it! Awesome for overlanding!

      @polgasen It took about 4 hours. Not too bad. Tight fit, but I made sure to take my time and watch videos several time before hand. Depends on your skill level. Wasn't bad at all for me, but I consider this an actual modification. Some guys change some paint or slap on an aftermarket product like a grill and consider it a jeep mod, those guys should avoid tackling something like this. Just my opinion. Thanks.

    I replaced AUX battery and main battery last summer on my JLUR.
    I did it the easy way by pulling the fender flare and inner fender shield off.

    What a process to get at the auxiliary battery! Seems like something that could have been designed a little better. I have yet to see a dealer - any dealer - that properly torques wheels on a vehicle, they nearly always crank them on with an air tool well beyond specs! Imagine being stuck someplace with a flat and you can't get the wheel off! GRRR! Love the color of that new Tacoma - WOW!

    The aux battery and ESS system is ridiculous and is not necessary. Jeep needs to get rid of this system or reengineer it so that the small battery doesn’t kill the main battery . I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee that is pre- stop/start system that is still using the original battery. There is no good reason that a battery should only last for two or three years when properly maintained. The auto stop start system is stupid and doesn’t save anybody a dime in fuel. But it costs you plenty when it fails.

    Ok since the video, the splined lug nuts have been replaced by 22mm black solid lug nuts. Also I have a 2ft break-over with a 22mm socket under the rear seat to take em off. Couple days after this was filmed I drove 500+ miles to the north of Ft Worth, couple days later came home, the battery’s are working fine. Job would have gone quicker if we had been able to remove tire. That problem will not happen again.

      @@robmotiveplus well with any kind of luck will avoid the roofing nails etc. if not the current setup will be more likely to work by the side of the road. The break over is going to be better than the tool that Jeep provides. Late this year to early next year I’ll be tire shopping cause it will be time.

    Poor design, Jeep should have positioned the battery for simple access. Batteries need to be maintained not hidden. Come on Jeep. Good video, beautiful Gladiator.

    Wait... hold on... are you telling me?.... You're telling me... that someone who put those tires on (assuming not Randall), at some garage, some expert.... are you telling me that they over torqued the lugs? I just don't believe it. Sounds way too far-fetched for me. I mean, c'mon, these people are experts at their craft!

    IMO it's much easier to just pull of the entire fender than to remove the inner fender.

    I've heard you can bypass the "auxiliary battery" to avoid having the headache of this (it's) removal. Do you have any thoughts?

      @@robmotiveplus not yet but I will when it's due if I don't go the Genisus Dual Battery. I've watched many videos on it and my cousin changed his from the top and said it was easy and he's not an expert.

      Don't go from the top unless you want to risk messing up your electrical system. Easiest way is to just pull the entire fender.

    You can delete the aux. battery altogether by removing it and taping up the negative lead and running the positive lead to the main battery

      @@robmotiveplus they show on the videos there’s no error lights. I’ve not preformed this personally. I’ve just watched the videos and seems no problems, just recommend you don’t use the auto stop afterwards

      If you pull fuse 47 I believe you won’t get an error light on your dash.

    Never, never leave rings, metal banded watches, or metal bracelets on when working on electrical items especially batteries!!🙄
