    Thanks for posting! The hood plunger method worked for me and I don't mind the small "A" on the dash above the fuel gauge. Such a pleasure to have the feature completely bypass without purchasing any additional hardware. Also I'm able to still use my remote start too

    The info you expalined bout the Tazer helped me so much! Long story short I bought my JT in AUG 2024 and I did not know until I took it to the dealership that someone prior to me put the Tazer system in. and it messed w/ my radio. ( it always displayed temp in Celcius instead of Farinheight and could not change it no matter what, it drove me nuts. At first the dealership changed the radio for a new one, that did not fix it. 3 months go by jeep dealership doesn't know how to fix this. they thought it was the BCM (body control modual) so in the 3 months, the AUX battery died, I replaced it, and SOME HOW the radio is displaying the correct temp. and NO before you could not just goto settings and change it from Celcius to Farinheight that did not work.

    Fyi not all auto start stops have a second battery. Ours is a rubicon 2021 with auto start and main battery shorted. Went to oreillys and bought both batteries pulled main one out followed a TH-cam video were the second battery was torn it apart supported to be under the fuse panel and there was a compartment but no second battery. Called dealer parts department and using the vin there was no second battery on my rubicon ever installed at the factory. No extra cables for it either. Saved me 100.00 bucks

    Many are just disconnecting the aux battery ground cable that connects to the main battery negative terminal and just tape it up out of the way and removing fuse #43,
    This will disable the start / stop system and there will be no error codes or lights on the dash,
    Of course this isn't a practical solution if you still want functionality at some point of the start / stop system.

    • @jimw4041
      @jimw4041 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is incorrect.... (btw, it's fuse #42, not 43...the description in the fuse box calls this F42- PCR CTRL FEED (ESS)* - If Equipped. On mine F43 is the PWR Outlet Cargo -BATT) You've described "deleting the Aux battery" (disconnecting the ground), and "bypassing the ESS" (auto start stop, removing the fuse). This just makes it so the Auto Stop/Start doesn't check the Aux battery, but instead just uses the main battery. It does NOT disable Stop/Start. The Aux battery doesn't actually even control the Start/Stop - it just keeps the accessories like AC /Radio / lights from cutting off when the engine turns off. It doesn't restart the Jeep. So, bypassing it just keeps the system from first checking the aux (which usually has the problem), and just uses the main battery. You are right about the lights or codes, the Avengers light won't be on the dash anymore, but unless you push the "A" button on the console to turn the Auto Stop/Start OFF, it will still work unless you disable it using one of these methods. Hope this helps.

Won't have to worry about the small bat. And remote start will continue to work .. also the seat belt thing does work .I personally like Jscan better not only cause it's way cheaper but I find it does about everything tazer does but I believe tazer might have one or two brand specific things it does. All in it cost me less than 80 bucks to use Jscan & I can buy more vins where tazer is vehicle specific. Oh if you read the comments ( i hope so ) in your description you have the tazer link in for both tazer & Jscan not Jscan's link lol

    I don't own an 'auto start stop' vehicle, but I had a thought about the (VERY STUPID) idea with the seatbelt.
    Im not sure of the sensing method for seatbelt connection, but if it completes an electrical circuit, you could try painting the metal insert with a non-conductive coating. (It seems unlikely though, as I doubt there is a conductor running through the actual belt, but that would be the best design to make it more difficult for people to bypass.
    Just a thought(VERY STUPID, lol)... Can, or do, people buy seatbelt inserts, so they can fool the car into believing the belt is connected?

  • @FireEater

    I don’t know why they put the stop start in cars. It kills your starter and is bad for the engine when you stop all the oil flows to the bottom of the engine and then when the car starts again oil is introduced back to the top of the engine. This will definitely wear out your engine faster instead of letting the oil circulate without interruption.

    you need to remove the aux battery from the circuit or else it will ultimately drain the main battery. They are wired in parallel so they feed off each other - if either one starts to fail the other one will go with it. Best to REMOVE the negative from the AUX battery from the main - tape it up and tuck it away so the alternator no longer charges it and remove the ESS fuse from the fusebox. Then Auto start stop is off, no errors on dash and you are running on the primary battery only. MUCH simpler. I do HATE Jeep for this nonsense

    If you've not tested Method #3 (not using the driver's seatbelt), why include it in the video and the "5 ways..." title?
    This is doubly relevant since you then immediately attempt to distance yourself from the very suggestion you just presented.
    Give some thought to editing the video title and its content, lest you get caught up in any legal action by a viewer who follows your instruction and comes to harm, and then circles back to this presentation.
    Your channel has practical, accessible content for the home DIYer. 👍It'd be unfortunate if it was adversely affected by liability issues.
