Thanks for this video, very helpful! I looked at some vids that had you “just pull off the fender”. I tried that and that thing was not going to pop off. My jeep is 3 1/2 years old, and those clips are now very brittle. Did have to buy a rivet tool though. Thanks again!

Interesting they put the aux battery so low in the engine compartment. Kind of makes water fording a bad idea?

Exactly what I was thinking. We are destined for 18" feet of water this year on a off road trip this summer. Now I;m hesitant...

Maybe you can just pull the fuse (43 I Believe), then it shouldn't be a problem for the system at least @@DanBlackRacing

Do the threaded stud posts fit all Aux 14 batteries? The pics on some of the aux 14 batteries don't seem to show that.

I have a 2023 rubicon jeep with a 3.6L V6 24V VVT etorque engine with stop/start (600amp maintenance free battery). I let my car sit for an extended period of time and the battery need charging. According to the car manual both batteries should be disconnected before recharging or could harm other electrical components. Sure enough when I took my car to dealership (under warranty) to get it charged I Made it clear that my car had two batteries had 2 batteries and that both should be disconnected before charging. When I got my car back the STOP/START system was no longer working. Before any more test were done to fix this problem I asked the service lead to install two new batteries as an initial test. I was later told that my car only has one battery and not the supplemental or secondary battery. My user manual clearly states that all etorque engines have a secondary battery and mine is located behind the wheel well. Now I'm wondering if their top jeep mechanic even knows where to look for the second battery.🙄 can someone please confirm that my car should/does have this secondary battery... I would think jeep dealership mechanics should know about this...your video was very helpful and clear. What am I missing here? 😕

Thanks for watching. The primary battery seems to be in the same location. Without seeing the vehicle we cannot be certain.

Is the large primary battery connected or disconnected when changing the auxiliary battery? If you disconnect it, does it affect the programming?

Hi - Thanks for watching! We left the main battery connected during our auxiliary battery replacement without loss of vehicle computer memories. We suggest that you check the vehicle owner’s manual or a service/repair manual for your particular vehicle about battery registration to be sure.

Will the Stop Start Not Ready Battery Charging sign on Dash automatically turn off once replaced?? (2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport)

Hi - Thanks for watching! We think so after the battery management system recognizes the proper battery performance. We suggest that you check the vehicle owner’s manual to be sure.

Why would one have to change this battery? If the start stop function comes on the cluster? Or if the car hesitates to start?

Hi - Thanks for watching! You would only have to replace that battery if it fails a test. The auxiliary battery is basically used to keep the vehicle’s system voltage from dropping below a specified level during engine start so thinks like computer, gps, steering angle, radio stations and other systems or user presets don’t reset.

If you're having issues with the ESS (Electronic Start Stop), the aux battery is probably dead. Over time, it will drain your main as well. It's best to replace both batteries.

If you have JL the 2.0L and turbo charger you don’t have an auxiliary battery.
If you get message “Aux switches not available battery charging” you just need to replace your regular battery.

That's not true. Unless you have the etouque the 2.0l still uses an aux battery .

No cam unit required or disconnecting the main battery

Hi - Thanks for watching! We didn't disconnect the main battery so it will keep the memories "alive" during the auxiliary battery replacement.

They claim this is the easiest way, but they added so many unnecessary steps! Taking the tire off is a waste of time. Plenty of room. It’s also easier to just pull the entire fender, just have replacement clips on hand.

Wait. Are you actually trying to sell this as a better way? Why unscrew a PCM board and flip up the battery when you could easily pull out the transmission , seats and the firewall to get to it....WTF?

Hi - Thanks for watching! Nope, just a different way for folks who are uncomfortable with with removing connections from computers.
