To the women calling Ariana a bully....If YOUR man did not attend your Grandmothers funeral with you, but instead shagged your bestie in your bed while you're gone and grieving... are you saying you would have handled the situation in an elegant and classy manner? Hell no! Glass would be thrown at their heads and you know it! So stop with the 'bully" comments and uplift Ariana along with the rest of us who have some sense of wherewithal.
I do not think that Ariana is a bully like Katie and Lala have done over the years. I just meant that some of what she said was bullying that night. I get that it was still fresh and she was getting to say what anyone would want to say in that situation. But to say someone is sub human and call them so many names had to be hard to hear. If I had to guess though, I doubt it made it her feel any better. I just can't imagine everyone in the world hating me to this extent (which is her fault) and then the unbelievable things that were said to her has to be hard. She made her bed, I get all that, I just think she has unbelievable issues and Tom preyed on that and stroked her and told her things she longed to hear. Ariana was the nicest person to her all season and took up for her, so yes, what they did to her is just gross. But the other girls have dogged on Raquel for many seasons and I don't think she mentally handled it well at all and I think her behavior shows that! I am so proud of Ariana for rising up from the ashes of this whole ordeal. I hope she truly knows she is better off and I hope that it doesn't affect her mentally or her depression. I'm sure it has, but I'm glad she is being surrounded by those that love her.

I believe Sandoval made the insulting T Shirt comment because he lead Raquel /Rachel to believe he and Ariana were not having sex. So when it was revealed that they were having sex , he was indirectly letting Rachel know…it wasn’t satisfying and don’t be threatened because it wasn’t satisfying anyway.

@@ED80s I can hear Sandoval complaining, “Oh, Ariana and I never have sex” etc, and I believe dumbbell (respectfully) Rachel believed him. So she naively believed, oh, the marriage is over and he is lonely and he loves me……etc. sad all the way around. 🤸♂
@@mashenka6189 but, for me…I haven’t deduced LaLa yet. She does seem an opportunist. She learned a hard lesson and in the meantime she has a beautiful baby girl (who looks like exactly like Randal…unfortunate). But, it may be , Randal also told LaLa he was intimate with his wife. So It Goes !
THREE WEEKS. This reunion was filmed THREE WEEKS after Ariana found out and during that time slowly unraveled all the things they were doing behind her back.
She doesn't have to be anything for anyone. I can't believe how together Ariana was after 3 weeks and so little sleep, not eating, barely functioning.
No kidding. Considering she’s been open with her mental health struggles, I was so happy to see her be so put together during filming. 3 weeks is fresh pain and she still killed it out there.
True. I think the way in which he did it though made it slightly easier to see him for what he truly is. So it's a very "bullet dodged" situation.
@@raebean6018 she didn’t Dodge the bullet. She committed to a house with this bullet. She is now waiting for the payoff a second mortgage so she can sell the house and get her money back. She didn’t dodgeball if she got hit straight on with it.

I think Tom dressed up like Raquel for Halloween because his real dream is to be his own fangirl. He is so empty and self-loathing that he has spent probably 30 years constructing his persona, and it's SO fragile. His biggest fantasy is to BE someone who ADORES him because deep down, he doesn't think any part of him is lovable.

I still think Lala was right when she called Sandoval dangerous. The control Sandoval had over Raquel to make Raquel become so emotional when sharing the one "big" secret at the end of the 3rd reunion seems very dangerous to me. I certainly hope Raquel is able to receive the help she deserves. Thanks for your insights. They've been interesting and helpful.
I don't think he's dangerous, but she was with James who was verbally abusive and could have been physical and that stays with you. Tom is all she has and has been her support system, so she doesn't want to lose him.
@@silverlining9120 but this "support system" is just manipulation, she is now completely isolated without any real support system that has her best interests at heart. Yes, she is to blame, but their entire relationship was built on lies she was being sold by him. James is dangerous, but so is Sandoval.
He’s a bastard yes but far from dangerous. The friend group is simply trash. When you hang with garbage you stink like garbage.
Raquel is not a victim. She was 28 and made choice after choice after choice.
Raquel gave James an ultimatum over his drinking when they were still together and he got sober over it. After they broke up he decided to drink again bc he felt like quitting drinking should be bc he wants to not bc of an ultimatum from a girl he’s not with anymore. It will definitely become an issue for him like it was last time.
James has already recognised he is an alcoholic and remained sober for almost 2 years until his break up with Rachel. The powers that be at VPR and Bravo are totally aware of the situation. As is he and his family and friends. It would help to start watching VPR from the 1st series and episodes to get a more indepth background. As you stated Tom Sandoval shows true narcissistic traits which has been apparent from episode 1

The thing with James is even without alcohol, he’s terrible. Rude, verbally abusive, etc. Like so many, his alcoholism is just a symptom of him having so many other issues. None of which he’s addressing.

I do not believe that Raquel was convinced that Tom and Ariana’s relationship was over, why? she was “good friends” with Ariana and they hung out together a lot. Raquel did what manipulative women do, when they want another’s woman’s man. She chose to believe his lies, discussed their relationship (crossing the line), sneaking behind Ariana’s and sleeping with her boyfriend. The truth is Raquel just didn’t care. Bringing up Laila’s situation is pure deflection 😳
So true and very well said. I said the same thing. She spent so much time with them and the friend group and she knew they were not over. That's why they had to sneak around. If that's the case why kiss Oliver, and Schwartz and even nev from shahs of sunset. She was selfish and wanted Tom. Has Tom left Ariana and got with her she wouldn't feel bad at all.
Women aren’t all as bright as you think. Many of these “manipulative” women are actually just dumb and have low enough self worth to let a man lie to them. Women can also be incredibly callous towards one another and use attention from men in relationships to give them a sense of accomplishment

Bull. How misogynistic-labeling woman like that. Look at her history. She was with James from what, age 20,21? She was sheltered & naive, and that relationship was toxic & verbally/emotionally abusive. I love James but drunk James is vicious. She left that relationship lost with no sense of identity or self. Sandoval saw a vulnerable, easily manipulated woman and went to work lying & convincing and doing her head in. He’s good-Ariana believed him. I think he was really convincing about the relationship being over. Raquel doesn’t have the bandwidth to plot and connive, sorry. There’s no way she didn’t believe him-no one would EVER put themselves in the position she’s in unless they were buying what he was selling.
James and LaLa in my opinion went off on Sandoval because over the years Sandoval has always deflected any of his questionable behavior. Sandoval has never taken accountability for anything, and now that he’s caught they’re all going hard on him. He deserves to have to sit there and listen to what his actions did, and all their true feelings.
Yes, exactly! He has spent 10 years raking everyone else over the coals, acting incredibly superior, and demanding “accountability”. Well, the chickens have come home to roost and he’s reaping what he sowed.
But their feelings have nothing to do with the situation at hand, they weren’t the injured party. Lala is barely acquaintances with Ariana until this came out. James was his “bestie.” They wanted airtime.

Kristin and Ariana, we’re not besties, Ariana did not sleep with Tom, Ariana did not have an ongoing affair with Tom. Kristin and Ariana are friends and Kristin herself and said that it’s not all the same thing- that she and Tom were barely in a relationship anymore.
Your analysis of Tom to me is so dead on accurate. He's not in love. And I think he just cheats on Ariana as his own way of getting back at her when she dares disagrees with him. He can't take it he's such an insecure man child and will never grow up.
I agree. He made it clear it's also because she wasn't fucking him as much as he wanted. So when he doesn't get it enough, he goes and finds it somewhere else. And he's gonna continue that cycle no matter who he's with. That's how narcissists work. He can say things were bad and they were drifting apart for years, but his ass knows it was about sex and his inability to be a man and tell his woman he's not happy and wants to see other people instead of cheating on her with her best friend

Just got to say I absolutely love your reaction videos. It's near exact thoughts as I watched and the only reason I got sucked into Vanderpump Rules was trying to understand these people and their mind/action/reaction from a psychology lens and I soooo appreciate these videos.
You should do a commentary on Sandoval being interviewed by Howie Mandel. So many people were so upset at Howie for minimizing Sandoval’s betrayal. You will probably spot his ability to get sympathy.

What a plague on humanity narcissism is. I’m so thankful that we now have access to the meaning and can identify it when we feel the energy in another person (and sometimes within ourselves)
This is great analysis and so helpful for myself as a survivor of narcissist abuse in a long term 26 year marriage with multiple affairs , blame shifting , shaming , minimizing .. it’s so helpful because not only have my therapists not taken the opportunity to break down my betrayers behavior but validate and explain my chaotic and confusing emotions after the betrayal and discovery etc… could you possibly do some analysis or exploration of how Ariana should be approaching recovery from this etc please !!!
Rachel bragging she could have any woman's man got me almost as angry as Sandoval's narc deflection projection. Drugs & alcohol might have intensified this.

Rachel appears medicated with perhaps sedatives for anxiety. That would explain her flat affect and those vacant stares.
There's an effect from doing mind altering drugs, which she and Sandoval have been existing on for months...acid, shrooms, alcohol, who knows what else.

I feel the same as you about Raquel. Her not crying and showing emotion is less scary to me than Tom crying at the drop of a hat. I think Raquel has a wall up from childhood that allows her to navigate through life without feeling hurt. I feel disappointed how Lala and James kind of took over in the reunion but I think it also helped Ariana from having to give too much energy towards Tom

That was such an important point you made about letting James' alcoholism fuel drama on the show. I would LOVE for you to do a video on each person. In terms of James, unfortunately I think you'll see an extremely sad person with many dark moments. I also agree that Raquel seemed sedated -- and the reunion was painful to watch. It made me think how this would all feel if, God forbid, she took her life over this.
James needs to watch how much better he is without alcohol. He's still very quick witted but much kinder Lisa has talked to him. Lala has talked but knows until ready it won't take. She's firmly in his corner and praying but trust she will guide his sobriety.
He was sober for two years on the show.
Like the show, and the producers are very supportive of the people stopping to drink, Lala did the same thing, and like suddenly it was all about the mock tails, and everything else like they were very very supportive of cast members quitting drinking.
I agree with you about most of what you said. Also, Bravo depends on alcohol abuse for its unhinged "characters", I think.
Thank you for talking about Raquel's lack of emotion through the reunion. I agree that she seems to be on some sort of meds. I hope she is actually getting the right mental health treatment and support.

The difference between Lala and Raquel is Raquel knew Arianna thought they were still together.
Lala and Sheena were the mistresses first and James and Tom S were cheating mistresses too.

What a significant episode from you David...... I understand and she can't diagnose Tom as being a narcissist not having sat with him and engaged with him in a conversation.... But I love how you framed the theory about a person exhibiting the behaviour of Tom typically is a narcissist.... And then you went on to list all the characteristics that Tom exhibits that would put him in the narcissist category.....BRILLIANT PODCAST !!! And we badly needed a list of those characteristics because people don't understand and to be frank we all throw around these psychiatric terms too easily

i have experienced paranoid schizophrenia up close and personal....and i'm afraid to say i see certain redflags in sandy, jax, james, the paranoia, the insecuries, the persecution complexes, being quick to rage, rage & revenge, the inability to back down, or be truly vulnerable, the inability to let anything go, delusions of grandeur

Not denying Raquel’s knowingly being deceptive, I still think she is a very vulnerable person, looking for someone to take her hand, he fed her lies about his relationship with Ariana. I go back to when she broke down in the car on her way to girls trip, watching her cry and shake, she drank to get herself together and liquid courage. She will be in therapy longer than anyone.
She probably already was in a ongoing relationship with Sandoval at that time.
There was a rumor that Tom and Raquel kissed on Coachella and Schwartz denied it was him because he was not there
I'm thinking about Rachel's laughter and condescension directly after walking out of the reunion. She was not fazed in the least because she doesn't care one bit about anything the cast said to her. She believes she is far superior to them.
Rachel's after reunion confession was simply to rub it in Ariana's face that she'd been having sex all along with Tom right under her nose.
And Rachel was sending letters to Tom to Ariana's house from her mental facility. When Ariana publicly mentioned the unread letters, Rachel immediately sent an open postcard to Ariana's house, hoping she'd read it. Rachel is a calculated, malevolent, unrepentant monster.
@@vt4216 I think what she did was despicable but I don't think she's calculated. I think she's got some real serious mental health problems. And then add some alcohol and drugs mixed with some deceitful combustible betrayals and BOOM! Sandoval on the other hand, is a calculative narcissist who should shut down his D station for at least a decade.

I'm glad that you thought that Raquel was heavily medicated because I felt the same thing. I think she was less medicated when she was alone after the finale, I also agree, it was a none bombshell. I have wondered if Sandoval was a narcissist or if he's just putting on an act. He seem to be acting strangely. It's been a number of years since I've watched the show. I don't remember him being robotic.

Yes! To Tom meeting the criteria for a narcissist. And thank you for explaining that it’s different than just being a self centered asshole. I was in a 3 year relationship with a narcissist, that I only realized after the breakup when I was trying to understand why I was so traumatized by the relationship. People truly do not understand unless they’ve been through it, it’s not just a “bad relationship and breakup”
Lala’s yelling to Tom IS NOT all her misplacing him with what happened to her with Randall. It’s her giving him back what he spews out for the previous 9 seasons of acting high and mighty and being all sanctimonious when HE DOES THE SAME STUFF but worse. Reprimanding them over the years about cheating and then how horrible cheating with a friend is, and to Lala calling her a mistress and this and that. When he’s been doing ALL OF IT!

OMG!!! I am a psychologist as well (masters in counseling and a masters in spec ed) and I have always thought that it would be cool to break down reality shows based on what I think as a psychologist... and you're already doing it!!! However, I think it would be SO cool to have a video wherein you and I have a conversation about Scandoval! This way the audience could get a male and female psychologist's perspective on things. Let's make this happen!!!

@@Catherine-rv1ut notice I didn't say "licensed psychologist" I just said psychologist ... meaning I have been studying the brain and behavior for 25 years. I have been through 3 masters programs (it's a long story) but I have 2 masters degrees ... one in special education and 1 in counseling.

I don’t know about the depth of James’ pain, but despite his immaturity, I just love James! He’s funny and just so quick with his snarky wit, so much so that I don’t mind his immaturity. But I’ve also seen all seasons of the show.
I totally agree that Rachel’s lack of emotions & flat affect is from medication.

I think you can actually critique an apology. Raquel says: 'I'm so sorry', 'It was a mistake'. Sandoval the same. If they were truly sorry, they should've stopped seeing each other when the whole thing blew up. They should've taken responsibility and admit it was wrong and regret that it ever happened. They should've come clean and told the truth. 'The relationship was over', 'I was living in the moment'; tells me they are justifying what they did, not apologizing for it.

As an alcholic, he is locked into the behaviour he was exhibiting when he first became an alcoholic-in his case, pretty early in his development. He acts like a prepubescent teenager.
He is broken up with Allie and I'm thinking it was alcohol related.
Bravo bases all its shows around alcohol! It fuels the drama in every show, even What’s Happening Live” No alcohol, no shows. The shows have less to do with the lives of these people than to how badly they can behave in public while highly intoxicated. Then along comes Vanderpump Rules…a bar..with young people ..perfect backdrop for alcohol play and drama .

James has every right to feel excitement and to enjoy being on the winning side. He spent the last year watching his friends completely embrace his EX girlfriend and slowly push him out. An ex girlfriend who turned out to have a cutting mouth worse than James in drunk mode. Raquel deliberately, methodically tortured Katie on camera and laughed about it. James actually texted his worst enemy on the show...Katie...to make sure she was OK. Her own husband didn't bother, but James did. James has evolved and grown and I hope he keeps right on doing so. The Toms are worse pigs than James has ever been and they act like that sober.

oh ABSOLUTELY!! I REALLY, REALLY find James annoying right off rip, I can't STAND him, he loves to play victim, he doesn't care about raquel OR care about his "new girlfriend" feelings... he moved on and replaced raquel VERY quickly! He NEVER cared about her he just used her to dump on her for the show... that's all it is! Lala also never cared for that girl and they both slept with one another and LIED FOR SIX YEARS to her face, lala was trying to be her friend the whole time too.. so THAT is HYPOCRITICAL and they were desperate to take the heat off themselves and were LIVING to pile on Raquel, who by the way doesnt get a pass, I don't condone her actions however she's one that's NEVER made a mistake, was always doing what other people taught her to do hence the pageantry and her father making the "we will pull her if vanderpump rules doesn't work out for her" she gave me the vibe of "cut the puppet strings" this season and she didn't know HOW to act or proceed, she also has issues processing emotions and thoughts because of her high levels of anxiety, she's the youngest and its her first mistake and I feel like she's been bullied for long (outside of ariana ofcourse) so I won't add to that, with that being said she shouldn't have said "you're nothing you'll amount to nothing you're subhuman" that's harsh considering that's what lead her down this path to begin with AND if she ever harms herself its not a good look on ariana however she was speaking from PAIN so I'll give her that!

People who leave nasty, insulting comments on TH-camr's videos like this one are trolls being extra. You are so gentle with your critique, and obviously have expertise in personality psychology. The trolls' wish to personally insult or be unkind to friendly strangers is just sad.
1) COMPLETELY AGREE ABOUT JAMES. he is the slimiest and MOST excited about being famous for doing absolutely nothing.
2) I also agree that Tom was a predator and while certainly no victim; Raquel is NOT the devil here. She was and is, lost. She’s the youngest of this entire group. They’re all close to 40 and she’s still in her 20s. She is making mistakes that every one of them made - particularly in the earlier years of the show.
I also absolutely agree that Lala has projected all her anger and heartbreak from the cheating of her older partner - onto Tom and Raquel. This whole group has so many intertwined and overlapping dramas and so much of what they say and do has more to do with their own troubles and trauma than whatever they are projecting onto. It’s such a little bubble they are living in …
And alcohol plays a HUGE ROLE a in this show - James, for certain - but so many of these people have trouble with drugs and alcohol and I think Bravo absolutely encourages it. And it’s wrong - unethical and very sad. I mean the entire show is centered around A BAR.
Bottom Line. This world is effed up. Beyond the pale. The fact that more people in this country know about ‘Scandoval’ than can place Ukraine on a map, is utterly disgusting. They are all millionaires for doing absolutely nothing. And Bravo is disgusting for high-fiving behind the scenes - the more hurtful these people are being toward each other, the more $ they are making!
I read an article that Ariana is raking up the money from this entire ordeal. She is making ads. She has signed huge brand deals. She is now marketing herself as the jilted saint and it will pay off for her royally.
This IS the very definition of reality TV. And it’s sickening. Sick that it is entertainment. Sick that we know the characters in this show but don’t know the names of our state legislators. But if there is an audience for it - crud like this will continue to be produced and do well, and advertisers will cover the cost. As the rich get richer and our society swirls down the drain.
What is wrong with Arianna making bank? She has a small window of oppertunity to make some money and direct her hurt and anger at something that will benefit her. She doesnt need to suffer in silence. We have this weird thing going on where we automatically judge people for taking oppertunities that we are not afforded..like somehow choosing to act on oppertunites which will benefit her is a sign of poor character, when honestly it is just jealousy and ignorance on our part.

When a partner cheats; that's a painful, traumatic situation. Then you have (what you thought) as a good friend that does a very hurtful action against you and causes a separate trauma, so it's definitely a double whammy of inflicted pain. When your partner cheats with a stranger (or more distant person), you are not experiencing the additional loss of a 2nd relationship.

Yep it’s not the same but it’s pretty damn close. Lala was with a man who had kids who was LEGALLY married. Through a couple seasons of the show (which is filmed every summer I believe which means years) where she couldn’t even say his name. A girl who accepts a vehicle after sex knows what’s up 💯

I think your input on Tom Schwartz would be interesting after listening to Jax and Brits podcast “when reality hits”. I think Tom’s being thrown under the bus too much. He had a lot going on in his personal life and he’s just another victim to Other Tom. I dunno, can you blame the guy? His family was in crisis mode for a year (dad near death in hospital for 7 months, one brother entered rehab and the other brother got a cancer diagnosis all at once), he was hugely in debt opening a bar, his relationship of 12 years ended yet it was his job to blow the affair up? I totally believe him when he says didn’t have the bandwidth for it and had his own shit going on. He also was fed a narrative by Tom. He’s just not the monster people portray him to be. He’s a good human. Thay guy just needs a hug.

James annoyed me during the reunion. He was acting like a kid and agree he was enjoying the drama with Tom and Raquel. It was hard for Katie or Arianna to say anything because James and Lala kept yelling over people, thought Lala was also a bit funny and spot on with some of her observations.

James has unbelievable anger issues. He is scary. He acts like a child. He is an alcoholic and they all accept that and his behavior. Something is going to blow up with him. I think Raquel's lack of emotion was medication, but also years of training for pageants where you have to school all emotions. Smile and wave no matter what is going on inside. I think Raquel actually apologized pretty good. I think Ariana stepped over the line in how she treated her. They act like it is more her fault than Tom's. They won't even let her apologize. Tom used her and groomed her and manipulated her. It is so obvious.

I agree with u besides the Ariana’s part. You need to remember that they shoot the reunion 2/3 weeks after the scandal. Rachel apologies for a “mistake” means nothing because at the end of the day her and Tom are still together. A mistake would be a one night stand, but months of cheating, after her dog die, while Ariana was at her grandmothers funeral, while she was there in her house everyday. I mean c’mon I think Ariana was classy with both Tom and Rachel. Her feelings are totally normal for someone who was betrayed at both ends. If you got cheated on like that once in your life, you will totally understand her. I know I do :/

I appreciate your take on Raquel. She seems vulnerable, impressionable, and fragile. An easy target for a middle-aged washed-up Peter Pan mactor in LA who is desperate to hold on to his youth and constant hard partying to manipulate. I think she fully believed that Tom loved her, Ariana would be okay with it, and they would make it work and live happily ever after. Tom Sandovol's ego loved that she fawned over him and thought he was the greatest thing in her life. It just adds to the seediness of it all.
I absolutely agree with everything you're saying. Raquel is getting torn apart online and I'm trying to explain to people just what you explained on this video. I'm also trying to open LaLa's eyes to the fact her anger is because of what she went through with Randall. Actually they can both be good friends because they went through the same thing they were both duped by a man.
