These LA golf shafts are the best I've ever tried. I demoed them in a PXG gen 2 driver, 3 wood, and hybrid, and they were revolutionary. I loved them. Better contact, and crazy low dispersion. I want these things in all my clubs but they're damn expensive sadly.

    shot...great vid Mr SG!

The cool thing is swing weight is the relationship between club head and shaft not overall weight. So swing weight is still what I’m used to.

Swing weight is a flawed measurement imo.. Moment of Inertia makes far more sense and is an actual form of measurement rather than a scale that a golfer invented.

Stock graphite is a pretty big difference from what he's playing. If you're serious about giving graphite a shot I'd look at aftermarket like Aerotech, Accra, Mitsubishi, LAGP, etc. Expensive but definitely makes a difference.

@@BeTheBallDanny Depends on what you're looking for. If you're a high handicap that's looking to have some fun and not have your elbow hurt after the round, then yeah stock TM Fuji is fine for that and will work just fine. If you're a low handicap looking to get steel like consistency in launch/spin/distance then you'll need to look aftermarket. Either way I'm sure you'll be surprised at how far graphite has come! Good luck and hit em straight!

  • @petegalindez9961
    @petegalindez9961 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Glad they work for you. I got fitted at Club Champion with the LA Golf Tour AXS 85R shafts from 5 iron through all my wedges. Seemed to give me good data on the simulator/Trackman…But, after playing them on the range with real grass/playing with them for 5 months, they are absolutely terrible. Unlike you, I’m unable to feel the club, the head, the club face, etc…absolutely numb (I’m guessing we may have had them dialed to different swing weights…mine were D3). It got so bad, I switched to Project X LZ 6.0 shafts that are 120g (45g heavier), and they are sooooo much better. I’m not a fast swinger (driver is 100mph, 7 iron about 80), but these shafts just don’t do it for me…So, I’ll have a set of them for sale soon if someone is looking for some!! I paid $135 per shaft plus $35 per shaft to get pured! For comparo, my Project X LZ shafts were $35 per shaft…The LAGs just aren’t doing it for me.

  • @legend9018

Great video, surprising they fit you into an 85 gram graphite shaft but then again that is the purpose of a fitting. People have these preconceived notions of what should work for them and they are almost always wrong.
I went for a driver fitting and I left there with a set up I would’ve never come up with on my own. In the past whenever i would buy a driver I would immediately put it in the max forgiveness or anti slice setting and 10.5 degrees. After being fit for the right shaft the fitter put the club at 9 degrees with the heavy weight forward (least forgiving, low spin) setting and I have never been more consistent with that club.
As far as graphite is concerned the tolerances they are able to achieve in there manufacturing is miles ahead of what can be done with steel. The result is a product with near perfect weight and a product that can also be Pured. That is a massive factor and will make your consistency go through the roof.

Double Dogleg Golf ...and they need to be much heavier and FAR, FAR, stiffer than the model he has in this video. The shafts he is using in this video are the same maker but completely unrelated to “what Bryson uses”. LA golf makes a full range of shafts for “regular” golfers. Brysons shafts are freaks of science...Prototypes which only a tiny percentage of golfers could ever consider using.

I had one inch added to my putter and now after twenty eight years I once again love it. The old pro had shortened it too much and I didn’t like bending over that much. The NY Golf Center at W 35 street in Manhattan gave me grips that were a little thicker in the middle of the grip. I’m still testing them. I figure since I push with the right hand ,a slightly thicker grip where my right hand is ,may encourage a better striking of the ball. Right now the grips are only on my 3 & 5 woods(metal).

When I built my new irons I put all graphite. I have Graffaloy red shafts in mine and I love them. I am still using a stiff so the feel is about the same with the hit but like you said I can feel the weight of the head more which I like at the bottom of the club path. I made the mistake of not buying enough shafts to redo my wedges however as I was not replacing those so they still have the original steel shafts. I am going to have to look for some matching shafts and do my wedges as well. Nice video and welcome to the graphite club. Pun intended.

I have the LAGP OLYSS shaft in my SIM D and it performs incredibly. Though it was a very expensive upgrade, it is certainly worth the investment. Super stable through impact and helps produce low spin versus the Tensei Blue which I had in my Titleist TS Driver which was way too spinny for my taste. My master club fitter at Club Champion in NY recommend the LAGP during my fitting and I have not been disappointed!

There’s still this bad reputation of graphite shafts from yesteryear , today’s graphite shafts are nothing like those of the past , they are stronger ,lighter and more consistent and accurate , they can match swing weights to your old steel irons . Currently gaming steelfibers i95 stiff and they are more accurate and consistent than the project x 6:5 , kbs tour stiff ,DG x 100s , I’ve tried them all in the same heads , some are good , some feel like they are hard work , others just go all over the place , these steelfibers blow them away , they feel easy to hit , you can feel the head weight a little more , that’s how I feel , but the dispersion and consistency front to back blew me away , they are not old man shafts any more , they are scoring tools .

Yeah at $180 per shaft ($1260 for 4-pw) that’s the price of a brand new set of irons from a top manufacturer. There is no need for shafts like this unless you’re on tour. The extra yardage you’ll get from these could easily be achieved cheaper, whether through an updated fitting of your current clubs or a brand new set that is more suited to you.

Good stuff Matt but I'd like to know what those new graphite shafts cost? You more than likely received a great deal because you put Club Champion on camera, I'm asking because I'd love to do the same thing but not sure I could afford it!

Were the shafts "pured" or "spined"? What is the swing weight of your irons and is it different from your old irons? Same question with total weight of say your new and old 7 iron? And did you toy with the idea of making the shafts all one length? You should make a pitching wedge the same length as you 6 iron video. Thanks.

I think lessons would be worth the money well spent not shafts. Even though I’m not a Bryson DeChambeau fan I am learning his single plane swing. Luv you man, be safe!

Did you play all same length shafts? Or did you just play graphite, but not the Dechambeau shafts? The Dechambeau shafts are all one length.

Hey Mr shortgame love your video's. Question about the T200 irons. I got a fitting and was fitted into the T200's. Handicap 9 and tbh I didn't really like the look of the T200's. I obviously hit them pretty well. I've held off buying my new set of irons during lockdown and am quite keen on a set of P770's...haven't hit them yet though. Any advice you can give about the T200's?

Try Brysons complete setup, irons single length, SIK armlock putter, single plane swing technique and try it for one month and see what you really think! :-)

So how expensive was all these changes and time spent with fitter. Most of us would love to get properly fitted but it's to dang expensive so we just play what we got.

I had graphite shafts years ago on some Callaway X12 irons and hated them... no control. I’m guessing graphite iron shafts have come as long way since then.

C Ross ...and it matters whether you buy “off the rack” graphite or upgraded. Custom graphite iron shafts can easily be $100+ per shaft, but as one would expect, the quality and consistency is far better than the stock offerings.

Matt, did you switch out the shafts yourself or did you take them somewhere? Did you demo them first and what was the turnaround time? Cost?
Nevermind about my first comment because I just found your previous vid last week from Club Champion fitting!
Still curious about the cost? I think CC gives you a free fitting if you buy from them? Correct?
Thanks again man for your great content!

I use the Swing Caddy and every sense Bryson won and was talking about that night on day 3 at the range in the dark and how he worked on his drive to adjust from previous rounds and I tried the same thing and my drive went from 240 250 avg on the swing caddy witch I know is 20 to 30 yards off with the driver but anyway went too 265 to 279 avg so from your one video long wile back with the Caddy and Mevo and all the offordable monitors but I think it means my drive is now more less like 290 to 305 Avg. I almost drive few of the greens at my club I golf at that are 325 and simular give or take a few yards
