HARLEY DAVIDSON 1976 SS250 / WILL IT RUN? #1

HARLEY DAVIDSON 1976 SS250 / WILL IT RUN? #1 is a restoration video. this is a 1976 SS250 2 stroke 250cc. I bought this bike off of craigslist down in NJ. It does not run , it dose have compression , but no spark. I do not have the key and, its missing several pieces. Watch along, and see what it takes for me to get this barn find up and running. I'm going to get out in the garage today I got the day off. see if we can't get this wiring taken care of and get this thing fired up. A 250 Sprint was my first bike, it was a few years older than a 75 though.

Mine was a 4 stroke, with the cylinder pointing almost horizontal to the front. Ran great, top speed about 60. Great 1st bike, beat the hell out of it. Went to 650 Triumphs till I joined the Navy. They wouldn't let me bring a motorcycle aboard a Destroyer though. Left me last Triumph with my brother. When I got out my Triumph got pregnant and changed to a 650 BSA. Got that running and gave it back to my brother. Got a 07 1200 Sportster and worked the shit out of it. was making about 110 hp when I got done. Switched over to a LowRider and got that running like I liked it. Just got a 98 Sportster to play with since the LowRider just runs and I needed something to work on.

I actually have a 350 version of that bike in the garage right now. It needs a Total Restoration, but it's all there. I don't know when I'll be getting around to that one is going to need a lot of work thanks for checking out the channel share with your friends period ride safe and live life Behind Bars
