    Grubee GT5 engines used to be the best standard chinadolls, mostly due to Don Grube spending a lot of time in China overseeing production. His biggest problem was keeping the chinese factory from substituting lesser quality parts to increase profits. Nowadays, Olyin seems to be one of the best around....but china is gonna china, so I ALWAYS go through any new engine before use.

      @@ManiacRacing if you haven’t tried California motorbikes yet, you should give it a shot. Quality is the best out there anywhere in the price range

    Ive never once seen one of these engines in any trim be something i was impressed by. They all seem like they were engineered and manufactured in pakistan on a dirt floor.

    Just because something is heavier doesn't make it better or vice versa E.G titanium vs carbon steel.That said your point is proven .

    • @neoboost6377
      @neoboost6377 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, especially a heavier piston isn't really desireable, even though here the wildcats one is probably higher quality.

    • @zsfabricating
      @zsfabricating  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@neoboost6377 the fraction of the ounce of weight difference I believe is attributed to the pins on the piston, which are not well seated on the lower quality piston. This means that the low quality piston is more likely for the pins to fail and cause the top end of the engine to have a catastrophic failure.

    This video is a perfect insight and description of the CCP's/PRC's manufacturing 'quality products' for Amazon's & Ebay's recommended/sellers sales advertisements.
    Spread the word, don't be fooled by CCP technical & mechanical 'quality' products, whenever possible, avoid.

      Yes, better to buy through American company like California motorbikes that can set standards and do thorough quality control before anything gets sent out.

    Put a 5lb weight on the scale then zero (the tare button) it, then put the engine on the scale, take the number from the scale plus the weight you added to get the weight of your engine

    • @zsfabricating
      @zsfabricating  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheShivABC thank you! I recently bought a scale good up past 50 pounds and was able to determine that the engines weigh about a pound different, around half of this weight difference is from the heavier bottom end with the slightly larger flywheel and denser internals and the larger surface area on the cylinder/cylinder head made up the rest of the difference in weight. Thanks for your comment.

      @@zsfabricating No problem, I'm a small engine mechanic, this cheapening of engines is everywhere, kohler engines is about to fold under

    The chineese use cheap conponents as specified by their customers.. Look at tolerences, bearings, thats where the game is ..

    • @zsfabricating
      @zsfabricating  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. The eBay/amazon engine sellers don’t have strong brand loyalty, therefore their goal is to get the price absolutely as low as possible, as they aren’t worried about return customers and want to maximize profit. The wildcat engine is made in a different factory with a higher quality capacity and is also set to a higher standard. The truth is, with Chinese manufacturing really low or really high-quality can be achieved, it depends on the price required for the market. For some people, saving $30 may be something they’re willing to do, but in the long run you don’t save money and you have to deal with a low quality engine having constant issues, unreliability, and lower performance. These engines now having the smaller flywheels to save money is basically a nail in the coffin, as people might be willing to tough out low quality but when it comes to even having to deal with a slower engine, people don’t want to deal with that. It’s just not worth the savings.

    Gasket thickness has shti to do with shit

    • @zsfabricating
      @zsfabricating  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@masterhacker1989 first of all it’s an indicator of quality. Secondly, the crank case gasket will blow out in that weak spot within a few weeks and all your crank case pressure is gone and so is your performance. Also, when you want to work on the engine, the gaskets will rip when you try to takeoff your covers.
