I bought my first big boy watch this year and it’s a Rolex Explorer 36mm and I couldn’t be happier. Great watch, I love how understated and easy to wear it is. Would recommend for anyone looking into Rolex for a 1 watch collection
@@g9icy I try to don’t think to much about it but mine has a lot of scratches and I have been really careful with it. I think that is just the memories we make hahaha
I went with the Omega AT38 for my one big luxury watch purchase and I couldn't be happier. It came very close to making me a one watch guy. Thanks for giving us our Gringa fix while you hatch. Hope you and baby Hans Wilsdorf Pearce are doing well.
You're not wrong. I just added a 5610u to the collection (I do have other gshocks, as well as other watches) and I could be 💯 happy with a 3 gshock rotation.
Hi, I had a seiko monster 1st gen for 23 years! And it's worked great in its time for fourteen years as a commercial diver, and for the past few years, a recreation diver instructor! So, for me, the best dive watch out there!
The Aqua Terra was mentioned last, perhaps because she saved the best for last. There is literally an Aqua Terra model for every single human being on the planet, as the Aqua Terra collection is gigantic with more than 130 variations. The model line has at least five case sizes, countless dial colors and textures, different materials including steel, titanium, ceramic, and gold, multiple different types of complications, and endless combinations of steel bracelets, rubber straps, leather, NATO, etc. They could probably discontinue half the Aqua Terra models in their current catalog (and they probably should) and the Aqua Terra would still be the most versatile luxury watch collection on the planet.
Britt, I was at the Omega boutique last week looking at the Ti world timer and the sales associate came out and told me without me asking that she was authorized to give a discount. I did not ask how much because I was not ready to buy the watch but you can get the cheeky discount at Omega.
I know a person who went to a boutique in Miami (USA) and the salesperson offered them to just pay retail without taxes. It appears the salespeople have the power to offer “discounts/promotions”
I own quite a few watches. I would definitely call myself a watch enthusiast. But somehow I find myself wearing Casio most often... and you know guys? There's nothing wrong with that. One gotta ask himself: why do I collect watches? What's the point of this? Is it a form of investment? Am I going to impress my friends or coworkers? Would I feel out of place patting other executives on the back if I didn't wear Rolex? Literally none of this matters. Collect for yourself, wear for yourself, be honest with yourself, it's your hobby!
My “one watch” was a steel Date Just for years (if you don’t count my gshocks and apple watch). It was a gift, but if I was buying a one watch watch, it would be the Santos Dumont. Mostly because of the bracelet has a quick change mechanism. And you can wear the steel bracelet, leather, or the rubber. I have two Santos watches, and I wear them all the time . I often choose them over my Rolex, RM, and APs. I really think it’s an underrated watch
As far as Seiko is concerned I'd rather recommend the Presage sharp edge over the cocktail times. They've got sapphire crystals. If you only have one watch, you'll want it to stay nice for as long as you can. Of course it also applies to the Alpinist. Of course you shouldn't have OCD with the latter. The compass bezel getting out of line drove me mad which is why I sold mine.
"polish center links. That elevate the watch" For the first 2 seconds... I'm skipping bracelets with polished center links. Even a basic desk job will quickly ruin that
Love the fact that you regularly remind viewers to touch grass and appreciate that £350 is still a lot of money to spend on anything. Congrats on the baby news!
People should understand that do not and I mean do not fall in to addiction of watches its not worth it, buy your favourite luxurious watch and that's all, if you keep on buying watches you will never stop and in the end regretting it, buy a good rolex and a cartier have these 2 watches in your collection and move on
Hi Britt i came a cross your youtube channel recently when trying to find my next watch. Love the way you present watches❤ What do u think about bvlgari serpenti tubogas watch? Thank you 🙏 ❤
I've been very happy with my Nomos club sport for a couple of years now. Looks great on leather when I want a different look, so the versatility makes it easy to use in all occasions.
Seiko needs to make a futuristic sci fi’ish line where they use the Seiko time corp. logo on the dial. Maybe use it for a movie product placement ala Hamilton
Yeah, it's odd how little Japanese product placement there seems to be these days. Besides Bratt Pitt's vintage Citizen in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', I can't think of any other brand.
@@matyasd007 I looked. The dial doesn’t say Seiko time corp. the script they use on the rotor that says “Seiko Time Corp” on the movement is what’s cool.
Great vid, Britt! I agree with your thoughts here. At one point I was up to 10 watches. Although i’ve paired my collection down to 5 today, I find that I could easily get down to just my Rolex Yacht Master (blue dial). I can (and do) wear it everywhere.
I'm exactly the same. I'm down to 4 watches and much happier. Especially after coming to the conclusion that I don't NEED a dive watch or specific dress watch
I now own eight watches unless I’ve forgotten some. Not one cost me over US$300 and most were nearer $120. I find myself wearing the same one for months on end. One of the watches is broken, three are radio-controlled Citizen watches (one of which I wore constantly for nearly a decade) that don’t always receive the WWVB time signal broadcast here in south Florida, one is a big clunky Citizen Satellite Wave that listens to GPS satellites but has a cluttered dial that’s hard to read sometimes. Of the rest, I wear a 32mm titanium Certina with a thermocompensated quartz movement good to about 10 seconds a year. Comfortable, so easy to read, and light, just a tad too small (and it’s meant for women so I suppose I’m a transvestite). Really all I need is the Certina and one of the Citizen watches as backup if the battery needs changing. I should sell or give away the rest. They’re all quartz (my automatic Omega Seamaster was stolen years ago) and effectively worthless, but I’m sure a charity shop could get $10 or so for any of them. Maybe the Satellite Wave could fetch a couple hundred on eBay but it’s weird enough to keep.
Good call on the presage cocktails. I have the green and the blue. The one big fail which holds me back from recommending as a daily driver is the scratch magnet hardlex crystal. I added the blue sharp edge which is much more suitable for daily wear. I’m strongly considering the baby blue alpinist for daily wear too. Really enjoy your channel. Good luck with the baby.
Great selections, Britt. I have the Aqua Terra, and it's perfect. It doesn't matter what I wear, or what the occasion is, it goes with everything and anything. It's not an everyday watch for me though, as I have several others, but it does get the most wrist time.
My Rolex Submariner is my 'ONLY' watch. But I still have a half dozen others, so I guess it's an 'almost only'. I've still got the watch goggles on and keep buying a few randoms here and there, but now I find myself selling the ones I never wear. I'm willing to bet that in a year my collection will be down to just 2 or 3. I find myself wearing my dressier watch for some occasions and I'm in love with my Seiko SSC911 Panda. Checks that Daytona box and is a fantastic watch in its own right.
Omega offered me around 12% discount on retail on diver 300 without me asking. My guess the price was hiked significantly since CoVID and there is a slowdown in demand.
Congrats on the baby, For me Zenith also has a few watches, their new pilot and the el primero sport are both great watches. I 'm a one watch person most of the time. when I purchase a new watch I always sell the previous one. To me its the best of both worlds as I not only get to enjoy a lot of different time pieces but I can afford to make more upscale purchases as I don't have tens of thousands of dollars tied up in a bunch of watches I never wear. My current Zenith Type 20 40mm recently replaced my Ming 17.09
What are your thoughts about CW The Red One? I placed an order, and was wondering if you think the relationship between watchmakers and TH-camrs/Social media influencers will grow to something? Thank you again for great content
In my pre collecting days My first watch was the Citizen Eco Drive 200m the the one with the mono block case. Years later it was the Rolex DateJust 2 tone on Jubilee, sold it because it needed the bracelet replaced and by that time the bracelet was the same price as what I had payed for the complete watch, sold it and bought a brand new Omega. Peter Blake in 2002
In Nashville at the Omega Boutique you can ask if they’ll take the tax off. 9.5% in Tennessee. Sometimes they will, usually they will take 5%…but that’s something. They will always throw in a NATO strap and sometimes the accompanying rubber strap and clasp.
Great video, I think you could include Longines, gran seiko and maybe some interesting microbrand. But I agree, if you only get one great watch, go for the prestige brands.
Congradulations on the new member of your family. Enjoy every moment, they grow up so fast. It seems like yesterday I was teaching him to ride a bicycle and he just borrowed my Vacheron Overseas to wear on a date (he's almost 40!)
Big fan! As an hairdresser I’m always wondering if you do your own hair before every episode or you have someone? Because your hair is always gorgeous and looks very professionally done! Keep up the good work! Love your reviews and hair ;)
First of all, warmest congratulations to you and WatchPapi on the birth of your little one! Regarding the topic of this video, as of today the watch that can suit everybody's needs as only watch IMHO is the new Longines Conquest: 3 different sizes, 2 strap choices, modern and reliable movements, 100m water resistance with screw-down crown for a reasonable price (2k€ in Europe). Compared to the Tudor, it lacks COSC certification and micro adjustment on the clasp but for half the price it's an absolute bargain, even considering that quality is as good as the Black Bay. Ok, It's true that Conquests are "inspired" by Seamaster shades but for a normal person (NOT a watch maniac as gringa community) this is not material at all.
Great video Britt but I'm kinda surprised that there are no diver options apart from the first seiko one. Divers are so versatile, I really think they make great 1 watch collections. It would also be great to have more stuff within "reasonable" prices, from the likes of tissot, hamilton or Oris. Thanks
I was at an Omega AD in Taiwan last week. They offered me 25% discount on some seamaster models and suggested that could help my case with some Rolex. The market is just starting to return to normality... and we still got a long way to go given how much retail prices have gone up recently.
The only watch I ever need is my Omega Speedmaster Professional. Of course - I own few others like Certina DS Powermatic 80, Poljot Aviator I, Seagull 1963, even Casio A168.... But they was just there when I receive my Speedy and I they are not expensive enough to make point of selling . So I just put them time to time when I don`t want to scratch my real watch ;)
The Seiko (SPB121J1) is one of my favorites. So why did I just by a Certina DS Super PH1000M in turquoise and orange and helium escape valve? Because the colors are my favorites and I don’t have a watch with these complications in my collection. I think the design is beautiful. Quality is outstanding. I’ll never need 100atm or to use the valve
My take is that every day is a special occasion. I enjoy wearing a nice watch each day. I do have a few watches: Swatch, Seiko, Hamilton, Cartier, JaegerLeCoultre, IWC, Oméga as well as pre-war 1930ies pilot watches.
The only watch I found out that I need and wear is my Hanhart 417es 39mm with the sw510-m. I haven’t worn any of my other watches for a very long time because of it. Won’t be hasty and sell them just yet. But I have thought about it.
My aspirational 1 watch is a VC overseas in black or blue. With the 3 straps that come included (bracelet, leather and rubber) and the quick-change system you are ready for any situation. For the price though, I could probably get 2 Rolexes and an omega.
Great list! Although I've owned a couple Rolexes, Breitlings and TAGS-my fancy watch days are mostly behind me. These days my EDCs are a Hamilton PSR (I own a working original Pulsar Time Computer as well) or automatic Khaki Field Watch.
Hi Britt. I’m in Girona and the AD here has a green omega seamaster and a moon watch pro hesalite. Offering a GREAT discount plus tax free tourist rate. I’ve got a DJ, Sub and a Pepsi. Which of the 2 omegas would you go for?
Glad to get some confirmation bias on the Omega Aqua Terra. I just picked up the 41mm with a green dial back in March. I was shopping at a boutique in the US. I asked about the price and a possible discount, they told me they couldn’t do that on a newer model, which the green was apparently. They offered me a free nato, which I wasn’t interested in. I asked if they could do a leather strap, which they agreed to. I was pretty happy with this, as I was planning to buy a leather strap for it anyways. They were able to get me a dark brown alligator strap with the gold over clasp. I couldn’t find this exact combo online, however per the invoice it was $850, which seems ridiculous, the one I was planning on purchasing was $550 online? Anyways, I figured that’s in the ~10% range and I was happy with it. I doubt I’ll ever purchase a true dress watch and felt this was a step up from my BB58, which just never felt right under a suit. Anyways, great video as always! Best of luck with the new baby!
A Seiko Presage Cocktail Time in blue was a near daily for a while pre-pandemic. It is one of the few watches and one of the two cheapest (the other being a Mr Jones Watch) that a non-watch person has complimented me on. At its size, it's not quite a dress watch, the same way a navy blazer isn't a suit. But like said blazer, it'll look sharper and more put together than most other options and won't look out of place in any context short of strict black tie or formal dress codes.
The perfect one watch for me is the Patek Aquanaut 5167a. It's sporty yet elegant, can be dressed up or down, waterproof to 100m (at least mine was when I bought it in 2023!) and on the rubber is hands down the most comfortable watch I've ever worn.
My first ever watch, very luckily, was the sbga 443 Grand seiko Shunbun I got on my trip to Japan a couple years ago. It was also my only watch for a while. I loved it. If I wanted it to be dressy, I put on an alligator strap. If I wanted sporty, back to the original bracelet.
Only thing that interests me in this collection is the Santos. Speedy and Daytona are just too "must have for a collection" and I'm basing this on having owned a Speedmaster and flipped it within 6 months. I truly dislike almost all BB's but own a blue Pelagos. It is a nicely rounded out collection but not for me.
Got a new Navitimer GMT 42. The blue dial color is special and the design stands out. There was no way to get a discount, only got a free leather strap.
SBGX263. Bought in Japan and haven't regretted it for 1 minute. First luxury watch. Visited all the stores and brands and didn't get the same feeling except I loved Santos also!
I love the looks of the Omega Aqua Terra but can't do it with the butterfly non-adjustment claps! i been spoiled with my C.W. bracelets with that feature lol...
Wore a 2015 Tudor Black Bay "black rose ETA smiley dial" for eight years. Sold that last year. Since then, bought 5 new watches. Sometimes, I ask myself, why did I do that? Occasionally, I miss the original 2 watch collection of the BB and my trusty DW5600.
The Cartier Santos models are a great alternative if you can't be arsed to play the AD game with Rolex etc., or may be looking for something more elegant in general.
I had a Santos for 7 years. After recovering from cancer (8 years ago) I traded my Santos (which I very much miss) for a Blancpain Lemon 50 Fathoms rose gold in celebration of no cancer. Last year I added a Breitling Ocean with an orange face, which wear daily (I like orange). I'd like to add one more watch, a Santos Small Quartz Rose Gold. Quartz because my Blancpain and Breitling are very inaccurate and I'd like a watch I don't have to reset weekly. Classic first world problem.
I think the OP is a great watch, especially in the green or celebration dials - something informal and cool about it. Does not take itself too seriously
I own a Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date in blue with a blue Alligator strap. Amazing daily watch to wear. Goes well with a suite and with jeans and shirt . Just an amazing watch.
Two weeks ago, I went into my local AD inquiring on a 41mm Aqua Terra. At the end, I asked if the price was set in stone. The rep stated he could do no tax which in my province of Canada is 13% which equalled to just over $1100. Discounts are out there. You just gotta ask. Worst they can say is no.
Dive ,dress ,field, pilot, gada, beater, in white, blue, black, green, orange ,silver and champagne, case colour stainless Steel, gold ,rose gold ,titanium. To match with dress rings belt buckles, tie pin, cufflinks, dial colour to match shirt, pocket square or tie. I think I have a problem 😢

Congratulations Britt. Looking forward to when you return (with baby pics). What will be baby's first watch?
The presage Bellini is such a beautiful watch. My friend was wearing one and I was like ‘yoooooooo
Whats your opinion on the pre-owned, pre certified market with a decent automatic watch? Curious for your response. Thnx
My take is that every day is a special occasion. I enjoy wearing a nice watch each day. I do have a few watches: Swatch, Seiko, Hamilton, Cartier, JaegerLeCoultre, IWC, Oméga as well as pre-war 1930ies pilot watches.
Love the Breitling ❤
VC Overseas was my one watch - amazing witht he 3 straps - but I had a box to hold 10... so am back to 7 lol - all lovely!
If only 1 watch I’d probably go AT or Explorer 1 . If I have 2 or 3 watches that’s where the santos and other ones come in.
Be well!
Congratulations britt 🎉
Great video. For me I think my Tudor BB54 could be the only watch I’ll need
0:12 that’s a spot on collection!
Didn't she also have a Black Bay 54 she was raving about?
@@kleitosaliagas5668 I think she did
Only thing that interests me in this collection is the Santos. Speedy and Daytona are just too "must have for a collection" and I'm basing this on having owned a Speedmaster and flipped it within 6 months. I truly dislike almost all BB's but own a blue Pelagos. It is a nicely rounded out collection but not for me.
@@jackblah5842 Fair enough
My wife and some of my friends wear a smart watch mon-fri then wear a Cartier or Rolex at the weekend. Im sooo jealous that they are happy with that 😂
Great choices for sure!! I'd go for the Omega all day. Cheers to welcoming ur baby.
Got a new Navitimer GMT 42. The blue dial color is special and the design stands out. There was no way to get a discount, only got a free leather strap.
Hey Brit, why do most watches with Roman numerals display IIII instead of IV?
I would argue that most people don't need a watch at all, but if there was an "only watch you need" it'd probably be like a Casio or something
0:41 WHOOP band + nice watch combo. Best of both worlds. Make a video on the whoop Britt pleaseeeeee
Love my white dial 38mm Aqua Terra 220.10.38.20.02.001!
I just bought an Aqua Terra last week, I love it and I it's gonna be my GADA watch
IWC Mark xx with lots of straps
Regularly wear my Aqua Terra (21st birthday present), and for a long time it was the only watch I owned
I pulled down my pants when I asked for a "cheeky" discount . . . guess they didn't like it.
Congrats! 🎉
Dive ,dress ,field, pilot, gada, beater, in white, blue, black, green, orange ,silver and champagne, case colour stainless Steel, gold ,rose gold ,titanium. To match with dress rings belt buckles, tie pin, cufflinks, dial colour to match shirt, pocket square or tie. I think I have a problem 😢
