Papers can be fake now, very hard to see difference
The shops are colluding with the robbers. They inform the robbers in the area, rob it, bring it back to the shop, shops pays 50% under the reselling price, rinse and repeat. Bob's your uncle! The correct way to conduct businesses with them is to make appointment for them to come either to your office or to your home.

Clickbait. Let me tell you how watches get robbed in London. Someone will be wearing a watch to restaurant/club. The security guard/waiter at the place will notice that you're wearing an expensive watch.
He/she will then contact people setting you up. They will be ready around the corner of the street in balaclavas on a moped waiting for their inside man to tell them that they're leaving and so forth.
I've been Hatton garden millions of times. This is not even 10% accurate 😂
(I live 20 minutes away from Hatton Gardens. Trust me I know)

Until they changed the way the police could ‘interact’ with moped robbers, you could get a high value watch robbed anywhere in London. Obviously gangs will target areas with more of them watches on peoples wrists.

I have had zero luck finding value in watch shopping in London. The pound is too strong at the moment and VAT at 17% makes everything far too expensive.
Vat is 20%in UK and you can claim that back if not UK citizen was my understanding
@@markrichards3720 correct, 20% - since 2011. london has a concentration of interesting valuables, but i wouldn't visit expecting it to cover everything. more chance of that in italy or japan, afaik.

Those guys across the street were not thugs, the clothes and general appearance were all wrong, one of em was even carrying a camera FFS. They probably just recognized you as youtube watch guys, that said, stay alert. The thugs usually ride around 2 up on mopeds, they dress in black, grey jogging bottoms, coats and wear full face helmets. You will know them when you see them.
Those are called spotters. Obviously this location is way above their paygrade.

He is lying to you about the VAT these are second hand pieces, so he is paying VAT under the margin scheme, so basically VAT only applies to their profit, not the whole price.

Primark, Poundland etc offer insanely cheap food and clothing in the uk. I’d say food and clothes are way cheaper than in the US, as a comparison.
