- Welcome to the brand new Urban Gentry war room in New York City! It's been a work in progress post-move, and I'm so excited to share it with you! Join me for a tour inside my new studio where it all happens, from watch designing to shooting cool new content for TH-cam, and the occasional but always thrilling visit from our very own Hollywood A-lister-slash-luxury watch connoisseur HRH Hugo Mountbatten. In this video I share my new setup, including the watches I currently have in rotation, tech gear I use to make my videos, art and movies that both inspire and feature in many of my videos, and special horological and historical gifts I've received from you, the good Gentry out there. I also share some cool watch related art and vintage ads, and discuss watches from Omega, Patek, Rolex, Bulova, Accutron, Seiko, and Universal Geneve, which is not only my #wristwatchcheck for the day but also a watch I reviewed last year that quickly became a favorite in heavy rotation. Check the links below for a video of the Universal Geneve White Shadow unboxing and items in this video. What do you think about the new War Room? Let me know in the comments!

an intro with Hugo, TGV showing the new war room and ofc geeking out about watches. My evening can't get better!
Same!
Only thing missing is a Fredrico name drop.
That's 24 minutes well spent in the company of TGV. His knowledge, humour, but most of all the passion he has in so many different cultural spheres, so effortlessly conveyed. Keep on keeping on, Tristano, and thank you.
Congrats for your new war room, as well as your new home place. I enjoy your videos very much. To me your channel belongs to the top 5 or even top 3 quality watch channels on YT, and it surely is one of the most entertaining. I´m really looking forward to your new videos and your future projects. Not to forget: Kind regards to Sir Hugo!
I love your videos man. Please never change your style and appreciation for life. Just discovered you on my way into appreciation of gentlemanhood, horology, and travel. Two watches so far, a 114270 explorer and a speedmaster reduced. Eyeballing a planet ocean for next years acquisition. Happy to join you on this journey- and thank you for the inspiration 🙏
TGV, I've been watching for years and love watching every new video! Getting to see this insight is amazing so thank you for all the great work you've done over the years!
The new war room looks incredible. Can’t wait for the new content that comes from it. Keep up the good work TGV!
Excellent job on the new war room. Glad to see you have your own space to keep bringing us the best watch enthusiast content on the web. Really interesting insights into the prototyping and manufacture of new pieces. Love how you brought so many aspects of your space to our attention. Fantastic. Be well, my friend. Onward and upward, TGV.
There's a piece of thought behind everything.
Looking good Tristano! And another amazing and interesting video. Love the intro with the Hugo dialog. You are so inspiring. Thanks.
Congrats Tristano. Welcome home! New York. New York! 🍎🗽
Over the years of watching the channel I have watched you progress and change and your new war room reflex that. It is more neat and put together. What a great space you have created for yourself and all of us watching!
15:25 is a Focke-Wulf FW 190A. Love the new War Room! That diving helmet is fantastic. Lots of ideas for my own humble study. Thanks for sharing!
Great tour! The stories and meaning behind each item make it that much cooler. Well done!
It was lovely to see the new war room. Thanks for the tour, but also the incisive commentary and context 🙌
Another extremely enjoyable watch. Excellent to see Cobra get a mention and had no idea he wore the Heuer 1000. I only recently saw that Keanu Reeves wears the black version in Point Break and then obviously Leonardo Di Caprio the gold in Wolf of Wall Street. It really is an iconic movie watch. Already looking forward to the next video.
Hey TGV, i love your contend, it feels almost like a meditative experience. So rereshing in a world of fast junk contend. All the best, and keep on with your art.
Regarding your WW2 props & collection TGV, my late father was in the AIF, Australian Imperial Force in WW2. Dad sailed on THE Queen Mary from Australia to the Middle East. I still have a picture postcard of The Queen Mary dad sent home to my grandmother. 😢 He was there briefly before being pulled back with thousands of Aussies to fight the Japanese in New Guinea. His unit shot down quite a number of Japanese aircraft during this time & yes the odd Zero. Onto your Catalina souvenir, I live down the road from Lake Boga which is in Victoria. This location was a repair facility for Catalinas from 1942-47! There is still a fantastic display of some 500 items including a Catalina Flying Boat. Cheers from 🇦🇺👍🏼
Glad to have you back in the city, TGV! The war room set up is top notch!
So happy to see your brand new War Room! Love to see how much of your iconic old stuff made it!
TGV and Hugo are Legends!!
Thank you for the tour!
Onwards and Upwards!!!
I've been following you for quite some years now and it's always a pleasure to watch your videos.
It's so refreshing to watch a channel and dedicated man being genuinely interested in his work and sharing the joy of it.
Thanks for that and keep up the good work.
Cheers and many regards from formerly in Germany now in Japan enjoying my first Seiko 5 (SNK803).
Big respect for the Lone Wolf and Cub collection. Incredible series.
Love the new war room! Really enjoyed the tour, some great movie recommendations I need to check out. Looking forward to lots of videos in the new war room!
Everything is looking great and Hugo is still my favorite high-rolling terrible lizard. Fantastic tour! Looking forward to the next video.
New war room looks fantastic. The luxury of a door that closes cannot be overstated - a change I've also made in a recent move. Game changer for focus and working where you live. Love that polo, makes an excellent combo with the UG! Effortlessly sharp.
Always love a new War Room! Keep up the amazing content :)
War-ready!
Very excited for the future content. War Room has inspired me to overhaul the box room at home! Thank you.
Love it TGV! One thing we did working from home is buy a door seal kit with a bottom U shaped seal. These kits are cheap and removable so fine for apts. and block more than half the sound when the door is closed! As you may know anywhere you can see light travels through sound has a free path also. Cheers!
My day off couldn't have ended better Sir Hugo, TGV, a tour of the new war room, classic furniture (We both have the same two chairs!!), movies (I think I might just about out geek you on movies.....) and watches (Your insight and knowledge is god tier compared to mortals like me!!) thank you and "buona fortuna per la tua nuova casa!!"
Grazie mille, you are so kind.
Here is to you🥂😀
Best regards,
TGV
Never seen anyone who wants to imitate Frasier Crane more than this guy!
I think you have inherited your grandfathers talents and drive , I see more design in your future not just watches , I see even buildings possibly linked to your love of watches and horology , the war room looks great
Wonderful collection. A first class museum dedicated to life.
Man your dvd collection is 🔥🔥🔥
The war room looks better and better! Loved the old war room tours, so pleased to see this! Great stuff
I do not know anyone I would watch and listen to, touring his new room- except you.
Charming, lovely, interesting and makes me really excited for things to come 🤗
Hey TGV,
quick collection update: I switched my Squale purchase plans from Sub-39 to 1521 Ocean (the „Azzurro“ 😉). Shockingly the 3-hander version of the 30atmos Sub-39 seems to be discontinued and prices are climbing (now looking at close to 1,600 Euros for the bracelet version) while the 1521 is hovering around 1,200 Euros for the non-COSC version on a mesh. Apart from that I realized that the 60s nostalgia with thin bezel, curved lugs and domed crystal is completely covered by my Speedy, so I´m more inclined to add a bit of timeless 70s angular asthetics into the mix. I hope to pick it up within the next two weeks, early enough for plenty of summer vibes.
Cheers
Klaus
Well done, Tristano! Your videos have transirioned from watch-specific deep dives for us fanatics into more of a contemplative lifestyle review. I love them more and more as you continue to grow. Bravissimo!
That's why I really enjoy this channel! I have collected iconic watches and when TGV posted all of this great content I was influenced.
🙏🙏🙏
So glad to hear that, thank you my friend,
Onwards and ever upwards!
Best regards,
TGV
@18:15 awesome After Dark Flying Toasters screen saver.
I was wondering how long before somebody noticed that 90s easteregg. 😉
Well observed! Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Love the icon above the door frame.
Love the new war room, I believe I've been on three war room journeys with you. Best of luck on your new adventure back in NYC. Onward and upwards!
I must say your White Shadow looks fabulous
The watch design process is amazing, even the initial concept development. Would love to see how you map out the initial design concept… I need to look thru your older content, maybe you have done it . Thanks for the great vids
Nice digs! I remember your old Queens setup from 2016 or so....looked more cozy back then 😆 and the flying toaster screensaver brings back memories
Oh, i was waiting for this episode, the new war room is looking amazing.
Congrats on the new war room. I'll be looking forward to the vids.
Congrats on moving back to NYC. Love the new war room, so much history behind every item you have in there. Looking forward to new content.
Looking smashing TGV! All the hard work in assembling it has surely paid off. Good for you. Looking forward to watching many happy hours of your videos in the new location and to the WATCHES!
Room looks great bro. Excited for this next chapter.
@theurbangentry - I have tears from laughing when Hugo calls you a philistine when you can’t remember a midsummer night’s dream - I’m actually dying. 😂😂😂😂 - such an under utilized word. My gratitude to you good sir.
Great to see the new war room set up. Clear indication you are now settled back in the big 🍎. Love the art deco lamp 💡.Look forward to future videos from here. 👍. All the best sir
Congrats on the new place!! Moving is always such a hassle.
DS9 by far the most interesting and enjoyable series of all the Star Trek universe. In a class of its own.
Congrats to the new war room! Very tasteful and interesting as usual!
TGV, love seeing the Catholic artwork and statue of Our Lady in the background! Keep up the good work!
Probably one of my favourite TH-cam channels, but I'm confused with the hatred given to replica watches, how do you justify a replica chair?
I’m really looking forward to what you’ve got coming down the pipe. I can just tell this is the start of something big. Congratulations on your success and new beginning.
You’re quite the aesthete, Tristano. And we share a lot of the same sensibilities, specifically about modernist furniture, architecture and cinema. Great studio, I’m jealous.
Not only am I a huge fan of your show but I’m a big fan of you. You are likeable and you have fantastic taste in watches. You will always have a fan in me. Mike from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
I totally agree. TGV seems such a nice engaging chap. The whole show is highly entertaining.
DS9 ... I love that series. I can watch that all day long.
Thanks for the tour.
"Absolute Philistine waffle..." Hugo kills me! Thanks for the tour, the bit about your ancestors' perseverance to build great things parallels quietly to the great things you've built, you should be proud! Love the channel!
Somehow I would've expected a heavy Chesterfield chair, but this one will do nicely. A very nice mancave you've built there!
Loved the studio tour. Best wishes to you for your future endeavors!
Congrats TGV… there is truly no place like NYC. Thanks for sharing your light, imagination and knowledge with us…
Cobra is an underrated classic and I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
This is a great walk through of the War Room/Life of Gentry. Your grandfather would be proud of what you've accomplished. Well done my friend!
Hi TGV! Despite living in another part of the world, when I watch your videos like this one, I see a lot in common not only in hobbies and love to watches, but in more essential thing, like way of thinking and way of perception of history, values and life itself.
My respects, sir.
I really enjoyed this video! Pure entertainment. Classic. Timeless.
Could you create one on Seiko clocks? Not wall clocks but clocks like the ones you have.
Thank you!
This is the only worthwhile thing that I have watch this week.
What a great man space, or should I say gentleman space. It’s like your life in a capsule 👌
Wouldn’t want to be the one responsible for keeping everything dust free 😧
Huge fan and I love your content with Hugo ! You inspired me to make content covering my biggest passion in life , watches !!!!
Congrats on the move 👍. I need one of those models of the Enterpirse D.
Living your best life, enjoy.
Great production quality! Thanks TGV for sharing your war room with us!
Congratulations bud on the move. Hope the best for you and the fam 🎉
HUGO, HUGO, HUGO….I’ve been needing some HUGO!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
LOVE that lounge chair!
Fantastic new war room, Tristano! I love the little Art Deco touches around the place. I would have the entire house Art Deco if I could, but then I would be divorced soon after. Oh, the sacrifices one must make! I look forward to many new videos from the new TGV HQ!
Amazing upgrade TGA!
Wonderful set up, and I love your collection!
A great dive shop I used to go to a whole lot talking about the bond Lair book they had one of those tiny yellow Submarines from the set of The Spy Who Loved Me. Very cool. I sat inside that tiny Submarine a few times over the years. Very cool seeing the new war room TGV
Said it once and will say it again...The best intros in the game. Welcome back to Big Apple...Home away from Home.
I had one of those Swatch wall clocks back in the the late 80’s early 90’s. I must have been about 13 years old . it was red and white.
My dad bought my brother and I that same exact Enterprise when were just little kids because my Dad was a huge Trekkie and my brother became one too. Was always one of our favorite toys growing up!
Your father is a legend! 👏👏👏 My mother bought mine when I was a kid.
Thank you for sharing that.
Best regards,
TGV
Congrats on the new War Room TGV! And great to see a DVD fan still. I'm still a fan, but know lots of people who have got rid of their collection and say " oh just stream it".
How many platforms do you want to subscribe to and plenty of older movies aren't there!!
Godfather and Clint Eastwood..... OUTSTANDING 👏👏👌😅
Wonderful war room! Very intresting video in every little detail explained! If I can give you an advise, you can organize every strap in a display attached on a wall, or in a desk strap display like the ones in the watch shops, so it is easier to mix and match with watches. Greetings from Italy, love your work ❤
😂☕️☕️👌 The coffee is back! 😆love the versace bathrobe! 😎Very nice video tgv! The room looks awesome man! Looking forward to see the future videos! 😎
Love your shows and you’ve indirectly “ encouraged “ me to purchase Omega FOIS, Universal Genève 1968 ultra slim on the original mesh with a blue dial looking extremely similar to your shadow , Squale 39 sub gmt vintage among few other pieces. Here in Cape Town SA choices are somewhat more limited yet once in awhile there are interesting bits come up for sale . I find that after more than 15 years I’m still drawn to my Panerai 005 base which I bought back in London . There was a time few years back that it would not get any wrist time for months and yet now it’s back on again more often than not ahead of latest , mostly emotional and irrational purchases . Also have been enjoying my only Rolex and it happens to be Oysterquartz, but it’s integrated bracelet design somehow just works for me and after long time in the safe ,it’s enjoying some sunshine again being 46 years old 😊. Unfortunately don’t share your enthusiasm for Wagner ,even though an incredible composer and understandably an inspiration for many music lovers ,unfortunately he also was a great idol for certain rather mediocre Austrian watercolorist and being a Jew myself…
Beside this little detail,I’m very happy your move to NY is going smoothly and your content is as fresh and sophisticated as ever . Onwards and upwards 🙏
Mister, Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us on how the creativity and development works ;), very informative!
Hey Tristano,
Maybe you should get a ceiling fan for the room? Something art deco 😊?
I wish that you have many productive days in your new war room/secret man cave and if you ever want to play some Arma on your gaming laptop, hit me up!
All the best! O&U!
Another great video love the new War Room
You have put together an ideal and impressive War room/Man cave. I am envious but realize if I needed such a room, I would hire you to put it together.
Love seeing the new War room. Glad your back home.
Quintessentially TGV - what’s not to like? Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait for what will come from your war room. Cheers (from Dubai, sitting on an Eames lounge chair)
Love it. The Mrs watches most of your content with me these days and we both love the new war room and it's aesthetic. She wants to know more about the neon skull. Just good color or another story there?
Hugo up to his old tricks, god love him 🦖
TGV the new war room looks pure class and so happy your back in NYC 🇮🇹🇬🇧👍😊⌚️
Pure class TGV
Been waiting for the new war room :)
