48 touchdowns is actually quite staggering considering it was 1984

25 is an insult. He changed the game . If he played today he would throw for 65 touchdowns probably 6000 yards. Bill walsh called him a phenomenon .There hasn't been anyone close to him since.

Marino was also statistically the hardest quarterback to sack per pass attempt ever with the lightning release

If he had a top 5 defense and top 10 Running game like Montana had every year. He would have like 4-5 Super Bowls.

48 touchdowns in 84 is like 65 in today’s game.

The best pure passer in NFL history, bar none.

Criminally underrated. Easily a Top 3 QB of all time.

Just ask Ditka and Buddy Ryan how great he was.... he was the only QB to defeat the 85 Bears Defense... Some call them the greatest defense of ALL time, Dan carved them up like Thanksgiving Day Turkey.. over 400 yds passing and 3 TDS....No offense to Montana but if he had been San Francisco's QB, they might have had 8 SB'S in the 80's-90's...Best best pure Passer ever and a cannon arm...

RIP to all the Steelers fans that could have watched Marino play for Steel City.

I've been a Patriots fan for 43 years and I'm a huge Brady fan hi Dan Marino was by far the best passer I've seen in my whole life he had an absolute rifle of an arm.

There's never been a more passionate and competitive QB in the NFL. The guy was simply awesome to watch play the game. It was a pleasure to watch you play football Mr. Marino. My Dolphins haven't been the same since you retired.

Probably the best pure passer in NFL history. I'm a Bills fan so I always rooted against Miami in those days but Dan Marino could throw a football better than anyone I've ever seen. Him and Jim Kelly of the Bills had some great duels in the late 80's and 90's

I'm 42 so I've seen some great qbs play, I truly believe Marino was the greatest I ever saw. It's a shame he never had a good enough team around him to win the Super Bowl and that's how he's judged, because a few rings and everybody would think he was the greatest.

Imagine putting arguably the greatest passer of all time outside of the top 20

People judge him because he has no ring and appeard in only one SB. Well, Dan Marino never had a defense to carry him, and he never had a decent running game, he carried the franchise over his back; When he was injured in 1993, the Dolphins didn't make the playoffs, when he returned the team only missed the playoffs in 1996 until he retired in 1999. That symbolizes how much he carried the franchise.

Marino was so good he shredded the 85’ Bears defense when they seemed invincible to everyone else. It was a classic styles makes fight. Marino just seemed to have their #. Too bad the Dolphins didn’t get past the Pats that year. Surprisingly Marino’s greatest chance of a Super Bowl Victory was probably against the Bears, who that year might have had the greatest defense in one season ever.
