I have been unable to print from my MacStudio for over a year. Neither Apple or Epson could solve the issue. But you did today. I went into CUPS, deleted and then added my printer. Now it works. Thank you very much!

Not sure what I did but went through the CUPS steps and after a few mins my printer reappeared in my system preferences -- HP users: I also moved Epson and Canon Folders to recycling been, so that may have contributed as well. Again, not sure how this fixed itself but thanks for this video! It's book marked on my tab!

I have a MacBook Pro version 12.5.1 (Monterey). My problem is that it suddenly can't even find my printer, which it was using fine until today. I've tried the things you suggested in this video but it just can't see the printer, before or after I deleted it. This is a very helpful video though, in spite of my issue. Do you have any videos hat address it not finding the printer? Printer says it's online, It prints.
My 1st attempt didn't work either. I could not either, until I opened up a new window and followed this video slowly in steps, between pauses. I was not able to get the color feature to turn on until it got to the cupsctl WebInterface=yes part. cups stands for Common Units Printing System as this gentleman said it's the back door to manage your printer settings better. Hope it works!
Thanks!!! This worked!!! One tip for everyone. HP replaced my old printer with the exact same model. So My Mac was seeing the OLD printer. Go to 6:16 in the vid. Hit the minus sign to get rid of all printers. Then hit + sign to select new printer which in my case was the exact same model.

Thank you for your help! I was able to get my printer to recognize my computer so it would print for me. However, I still have an issue. My blue and black ink will not print. I have cleaned the head. I have changed the cartridges. I have tried to just print black. I am not sure what else to do, other than get a new printer. :(

Ever since Apple did an update a month or so ago, my printer has not been able to find my wifi network. I did everything you suggested here. My problem is my printer can't find my network at all. hello, I tried to connect the network printer in my iMac but it doesn't show up in default, however it works on Windows devices. I deleted it unknowingly and now I can't access the printer on system preferences. I deleted the HP Deskjet files in hoping of reinstalling it but I feel like I made the problem worse than it already is. When I clicked "printers and scanners" in my system preferences it tells me "Could not load printers & scanners preference pane". I have tried researching this problem and using terminal but my problem still exists. I don't know if this matters but I did a scan with TotalAV and it told me I didn't have any viruses. What are the best possible options in fixing this issue?

Sorry for sounding so dumb- I just really dont want another printer to screw up somehow! I just recieved a replacement printer- the other one had issues. They are exactly the same model and make, although this one of course is a few years newer (2021 vs 2024) Would it be best to remove the printer, AND uninstall all the drives and then when i plug the new one in, Re-install them as a ‘clean’/fresh install to set up the new printer ? I hope that make sense! Thank you! I have a macbook pro 15" 2015 and the printer is an epson workforce printer (dont say anything negative about it at the moment please! LOL!) I would hate to uninstall it and have issues re-installing but thought it may be best to install the new one as if I never had one before.... what would you do? And sorry this must sound dumb

just purchased my mac book air m1 and I could not get my Samsung c410w to print, in the end as I have 2010 17" MBP I copied from library/printers to my mac book air and copied from system/printers to my mac book air and its now recognized and prints the first time. was a bit of a long shot but I had tried everything so I thought sod it, hope this helps you.

I used this on my new printer in 2024. I used 2 screens to follow each step. Thank you. This was better to follow than some of the other TH-cam sites.

thank you for explaining why a duplicate printer wasn't printing and to delete all from printer settings. A viewer below also had the same issue.

I erased Drivers and then it Fixed immediately. My Mac detected the printer and downloaded the drivers and that's all, thanks you very much!

Why when I try and pull up the cups admin panel In safari do I i get “page not found?”.
Okay, by adding “/printers” to the url I was able to access cups. Unfortunately my printer still didn’t show up in there!
