Omgoodness you are a life saver. I was having a whole anxiety attack. The simple instruction to make sure your printer and computer are on the same wireless connection was the key. I don't know why other tutorials did not say that off the rip. So I had assumed my computer was connected to the same wireless connection and it was not. Once I made sure they were my printer popped up now I am all set. Thank you!
Great explanation! Thank you for the help, Also for people who want to save ink you should use the feature of "setup" at the bottom and be sure to click on black and white printing feature turn it off. BOOM Ya done and you saved ink! Team work makes the dream work fam!
Excellent tutorial. I generally knew the info (process) but wanted to double check ..as I'll be installing one tomorrow. This vid presented things directly and simply without all the bloat or side talk. Great stuff -
Thank you! After banging my head against the wall with a new HP printer that I was unable to connect. to WIfi, I bought a new one (Epson) with the same result. Your clear and simple instructions changed my world in 10 seconds (yes: me too on 2 different networks!!) and here I am with two brand new printers!
I just bought a Macbook Air M2. My wired printer USB cable won't connect. It's one of those old USB that you can't connect "upside down". I think the M2 has only Thunderbolt4 connectors. Can I connect my old USB into the Thunderbolt4 ports with some kind of adaptor? Thank you.
Thank you for this video! Just time from time people (aka "me") forget the steps to make their printer run again after changing their network or moving, etc. Your video reminds me of the part of manually inputting IP. Really helpful!
I' m trying to add my printer but I can't because I don't have secure airprint when I click use.Can you please tell me how to add secure aiprint on mac?
When I enter the ip address manually I get the error “unable to verify the printer on your network. Unable to connect to “ip” due to an error.” Any idea what might be causing that?” I’ve tried rebooting the printer and my computer multiple times and disconnecting and reconnecting to the Wi-Fi.
You just saved me a whole lot of heartburn. Thanks! My printer (Brother HL L2360DW) goes offline-from my macbook's perspective-several times a year. Could this be a wireless network issue?
What is you don't have a wireless network available? How can one still use a cable to print? I only have a HotSpot connection for me computer (no wifi) and from what I've tried, I haven't found a way to connect my hp printer to my Verizon HOtSpot.
What happens if the router gives a new ip address to the printer? Will the system notice that or I need to setup to give the same ip address to the printer all the time?
I have a 2332 deskjet hp usb printer and to make it wifi i connected via usb 3.0 to my asus 68u. When i click on usb 3.0 i can see the printer. But when i click to usb printer server there i cant see my printer. Only option is to download for windows but i have a mac. What do i do?

I have a problem when I try and connect without wireless. I need to connect without wireless because I’m moving to university and I don’t want random people printing stuff from my printer. When I plug it into my Mac it doesn’t show up and when I try and add it it says it needs drivers, I download the drivers and it still doesn’t work. I’ve searched on the internet for answers and found nothing, please help!
The IP address for your printer is either not shown or somehow is very different from the IP address in the following image. Absolutely confusing and NO HELP.
I have a Canon TS3550i basic printer - after spending 2 hours trying to connect it wirelessly and I gave in and bought a cable. Following these basic steps it still doesn't work as the printer, despite being on and fine, does not show up on the list no matter what I do, absolute pile of s**t - apologies but your video is not helpful.
I tried typing in IP address that printer is connected to and I also tried using the host name as per printer and still my Mac couldn’t find the printer. Why????

This pre-requisite is your on the wireless network. Every one skips that option. PLease start at the beginning. Poor. Continuity.
