- If your printer is not showing up on your list of printers when printing a document, or is appearing as UNSPECIFIED, and you have tried everything you read on the internet and nothing works. Well this video is for you, I tried out this method to get my HP laserjet printer to work. Maybe it helps you, good luck!

The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system th-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.
You saved me from going nuts. I spent 30 minutes trying to install my Canon to no avail. Your video solved the problem in 15 seconds, much appreciated!
Your explanations are quite clear, the only thing is that for people who have problems to see small letters (presbyopia), it would be of great help if you use the zoom option to see everything more clearly. THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for posting this fix. It definitely saved a couple of hours on the phone with hp support. I had already tried others fixes and this was by far the easiest one and quickest.
Note: like he said in the video, if you cannot find your exact printer model pick the one closest within the range model of your particular printer.

All of a sudden, after no previous problem, my computer refused to recognise my Xerox printer. Having spent hours trying every possible suggested fix, including from Microsoft and Xerox themselves, all without success, this one cracked it in no time. Thank you so much.
This helped me with my Canon MX 432. I fixed the setup a year ago using this tutorial but I moved and things got messed up again. It took me so long to find this tutorial again so I could fix it. Seriously, if it works for you, take notes now so you won't forget later. Thank you Joel!

The actual Canon software wasn't working so ofc I hit up TH-cam and found this, thank God! It worked and now I can print things on my new printer. Thank you, you are a life savor!

I had the same thing happening. My printer was the Canon mg2522. Others online have said they could not get it to work and they just threw the printer away because it was too late to take it back.

How long did it take for the windows update?
For some reason my printer was visible in the "Devices and Printers", but word wouldn't accept it. I tried your method to basically just "add it again" and so far it works. Thank you.

Great help to me. Windows 7 managed to find my printer. Windows 10 couldn't. The instructions in this video helped me show Windows 10 how to do its job.

Oh my gosh it worked! I can't believe it, I also can't believe how difficult they make linking up a printer to your new computer, like why can't these things just be cut and dry. I downloaded the driver and nothing happened, nothing was intuitive for me on this one, no directions on installation after downloading, just a bunch of gibberish when I clicked on the driver file and sub files. Thank you!!!!! This is amazing and blows all other videos I watched out of the water. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Great video, Joel! You saved my life. I am about to attend a job fair and I was unable to print resumes. I spent nearly an hour troubleshooting on my own (uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, etc.,) and nothing worked. It worked. My HP LaserJet stopped working and had to turn to my old 12 year old Dell printer. Windows 10 would not recognize the driver after I installed it. You are a godsend.

I had an HP C4280 photosmart all in one printer. I followed your instructions changed the C4200 series to my actual model number of C4280 and loaded the driver. I messed around for two days trying to get my computer to see my printer. Did this and it worked the first time. I love TH-cam!
Thank you so much for this. It worked for me on two laptops both having probs connecting to different printers. The first printer had gone into a permanent ‘Paused’ state. On my Lenovo laptop, windows 11, I deinstalled the printer, cleared the print spooler queue and then followed your sequence. The ‘windows update’ button completely froze my laptop so I tried again without selecting that. The ‘test print page’ at the end didn’t work until I had restarted the laptop. The second laptop, another Lenovo windows 10 was refusing to install the printer driver for a canon printer from the canon website - it would ‘detect’ the printer, run for a while and then send the message that it could not ‘detect’ the printer so failed to complete. Again your manual sequence worked like a dream to install the driver.

Hi, thanks so much for your video sir. At first i stuck after i click windows update. i wait almost 40 minutes😅 after that i close the windows and restart my laptop again. and luckily when i follow step by step again, after click "windows update", it takes me around 15 minutes only, and then i appears list of manufacturer. and i managed to start print again!🎉 Thank youuuu❤
This worked for my Epson Stylus C86. Epson didn't have drivers and stated that Windows 10 would just recognize it. It didn't. Thanks for your video and help.
