I'm really enjoying this video series tremendously! The electrics, in terms of the Arduino, is above my paygrade. If I were to do this, I would need a lot of hand holding as it would be my first time, but everything else makes me want to build this if I had room. I already have a 2-foot diecast metal Enterprise (TOS) that takes up an entire shelf. I look forward to each video! Your creativity deserves an award!

wayne ,if I was building this kit I would buy the Trek modeler pre wired sound and light kit and save myself a lot of hassle. After all building models should be fun.
at £100 plus when an arduino nano is £20 odd quid for three of em, its worth the hasstle
The problem with the pre wired kit is that the wires take up an awful lot of space . My solution here means hardly any space used up by wires
And yet under every video with Tamyia model I read complains their models are too easy. Apparently real modelling is supposed to be a hassle :)
I'm in process of building my refit - I looked into pre-wire kits and the prices (and import/postage) put me off. Also I love the idea of doing my own wiring and so forth especially after watching videos like these that take some of the stress away :D

Coming along nicely wayne, will you be giving the whole surface a light sand before any other colours or decals? in the oudoor shots i see lots of dust and bits in the paint surface.

The impulse engines should glow red and the crystal should light up blue.
