  • Finally done with the edit, it's finally up! Allow me to introduce you the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Facelift (Product Enhancement) model, but also a few things about Korea. I've traveled all the way east, south, west and back north.
    Going over what it is like to drive long distance on the IONIQ 5 PE, changes & upgrades it's got, as well as charging facility and what the EV life is like here in Korea - do not miss out he beautiful scenery and food along the way too!
    I wanted to save it for the video, but yeah, the IONIQ 5 PE now can travel 600 km (373 miles) and when conditions are met, I think it'd go even higher!

    Great road trip video in the PE! Very cool to hear you’re from Busan. I spent two weeks in Busan in 2014 for work. I stayed on Haeundae beach. I had an amazing time in Korea when I was there. The hotel concierge even found a restaurant that would allow me to do Korean BBQ even though I was there by myself. Would love to go back. Hoping Hyundai will invite me for the Ioniq 9 launch event

    What a fascinating country. In a world full of Japanese cars, it is rare to see a country that doesn’t have a Toyota every 10 seconds. I wonder what the Japanese think of the N performance cars? They must’ve been scared into action because we now have the GR brand from Toyota and Mazda Spirit Racing sub-brand.

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There were times when Japanese cars were not all difficult to spot, but owning and driving a Korean car in Korea has lots of obvious advantages. Price, among everything then maintenance, repair, resale value, the list goes on and on. I sure do hope to see GRs here in Korea too, but it’d be near impossible given the market demand. It is quite exact opposite for Hyundai and Kia in Japan mostly for the same reasons :)

    • @XQoozMii
      @XQoozMii 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@CarSceneKorea very interesting. Thanks for the insight. Yes, I have noticed the opposite too. I remember being excited to see a Hyundai S Coupe on the streets of Japan that was in almost flawless condition. Was very cool.
      Here in Australia, we are lucky to have the best of both worlds, enjoying both Korean and Japanese performance cars. In fact, Australia is among the biggest markets for the N brand despite our small population and is one of the main reasons we are one of a handful of countries which will continue to receive the second facelift of i30 N and facelift i20 N. I myself will be purchasing the 2025 i30 N and cannot wait for it to be announced!
      I’d love to see what the very best Japanese drivers think of the i30 N and Elantra N. No doubt they would be very impressed. Well done Hyundai 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Your hair @9:43 is awesome!
    The digital driver side "mirror" display looks like its facing almost completely perpendicular to the driver. Is it awkward to look at? I think it needs to be angled more towards the driver but I haven't seen it in person.

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My hair being all natural😅 The DSM monitors are fixed, it cannot be moved or tilted. It does take some time to get used to - quite dependent on the person - but it took me a couple of turns then I was already used to it. However, I felt the biggest difference when reversing and parking in a tight space. You can do it, the camera shows "everything," yet is quite different from the conventional ones.

    Great video and a decent not facelift of the car. In Europe, the performance of charging stations varies widely. Some stations have multiple cables between which they can distribute the energy, the recently introduced SICHARGE D from Siemens which supports 400 kW can redistribute up to 4 cables. Other single cable stations can offer up to 350 kW per unit, but these can be limited by the grid if there are more than one at one location.

    Hey! Awesome video, I'm loving the car and the videos!
    Apologies for being a bit annoying, but I wonder how the facelift Ioniq5 would compare against a Model Y; Based on the initial look you've posted a few weeks back, it seems the only thing tesla would (theoretically) have in advantage is the "brand name", but the I5 seems like the most refined product - Do y'all have any thoughts on that? =)

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tesla's Autopilot and FSD(which is not available in Korea) alone are worth getting a Tesla I believe. However, put aside those, I don't really see how Hyundai or Kia cars lack compared to a corresponding Tesla competitor. I really think it boils down to a personal preference at the end of the day, both great cars :)

    I’m interested to hear if you noticed a difference in ride quality and motor whine volume. One thing I don’t like about my 2024 Ioniq 5 is the steering wheel in Highway Driving Assist mode. The car does only recognize my hands on the wheel at the 10 and 2 position. The wheel also has to be gripped quite firmly for the car to recognize hand contact.

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The first IONIQ 5 has torque feedback basis input for the steering wheel, i.e., if you put some force anywhere within the steering wheel, the message won't pop up. You can "shake" it using your knee even. The PE has HOD, as described in the video, which allows the car to recognize your hands on the steering wheel so long as you hold onto it using two or more fingers (torque feedback still also works). The reason why you think it only recognizes 10 & 2 is bc perhaps that's when you gave it enough torque for it to recognize :)

    It is under the 350kW standard but only capable upto 240kW with its limited 1MW power cabinet per site.

    Just started watching but came to comment as soon as I saw the wheel. Will be adding comments as I go -
    1. Well I don't like geometric funky parametric designs. Please give a simple one like Tesla does and keep it like that always.
    2. Keep the normal sideview mirror. Add digital screen at the sides of the dashboard. If it is digital, why let the driver flex their heads?

      It cannot be exported off from Korea. Visit your local dealership. See if they have it available.

    Interesting south korea using CCS1 not CCS2 like the rest of the world, will korea change to NACS like the USA does?

    • @CarSceneKorea

      Some electric buses use CCS2, long story short, CCS1 prevails in Korea indeed.

      It's not approved yet, so no official data there, but think it'd be safe to assume similar range upgrade as the 2WD.

    Appreciate the video, but you're hyping up of the digital side mirrors just feels like you're advertising for Hyundai, especially as you didn't actually mention what you like about them other than "can't go back".
    I've used them, and can't think of a single reason I'd actually want them in my car. You don't get any depth perception, and end up with a far narrower view compared to normal mirrors making it harder to use them for parking. More expensive to replace, and more likely to break.
    I'm hoping no one opts for them based on this video...

    Quite a strange decision, that when the battery capacity was increased from 77kW-(84)kW, the power of the electric motor was reduced to 325 hp->(320) horsepower. 🤔

    Sorry but I have to disagree with you. Give me a conventional side view mirror with a small convex mirror all day long! You can stick these digital mirrors where the sun doesn't shine. I barely use my rearview camera. Learn how to drive!

      If that last sentence was for me, I've owned and driven a manual car since day one I got my driver's license :P A conventional mirror gets the job just fine indeed.
